Rock Wolves (Voss/Rarebell/Hinz) release self titled debut album in October

Rock-Wolves
Rock Wolves, the cracking new band founded by Herman Rarebell, Michael Voss and Stephan ‘Gudze’ Hinz, three of the most renowned and accomplished German rock musicians to have emerged in the last 40 years, have signed to Steamhammer / SPV to release their hard driving, melody drenched, utterly uplifting hook – laden self-titled debut album on October 28th.

‘Rock Wolves’, which will be available as an embossed DigiPak CD (with poster), 180 gram dirty white vinyl LP (with CD in a paper sleeve) and download, contains eleven excellently executed, joyous, timeless classic rock compositions.

The idea to start Rock Wolves was conceived in Autumn 2015, during a tour by Michael Schenker’s current band, Temple Of Rock, which Rarebell and Voss have been members of for the last five years. As drummer and songwriter in Scorpions, Herman Rarebell was significantly involved in eight of their studio albums between 1977 and 1996, including all-time classics such as ‘Lovedrive’, ‘Blackout’ and ‘Love At First Sting’. Guitarist / vocalist Michael Voss first caused a stir in the 1980’s with groups such as Mad Max and Casanove, and his role in Temple Of Rock is not only that of a frontman, but also that of a songwriter and producer.

When Schenker announced that he wanted to cut down on concerts in the coming months, an opportunity opened for Rarebell and Voss to start a new band together. They soon found the perfect bassist in Stephan “Gudze” Hinz, a founder member of H-Blockx and hence a representative of the 1990s rock generation. So here we have three illustrious musicians from three decades, and three artistic careers with similar but by no means congruent influences.

The band’s almost boundless musical enthusiasm is reflected throughout this diverse, stunning debut – patently the work of supremely capable and inspired, virtuoso musicians gelling instinctively. Never is this more evident than on the exuberant single ‘Rock For The Nations’, a powerful track with a painful yet upbeat message; “Instead of delivering tanks and arms all over the world, Germany should concentrate on exporting good rock music,” explains Rarebell. Similarly, the shuffle-groove driven ‘Surrounded By Fools’ warns against unscrupulous politicians; “Let’s not be dazzled by their colourful election campaigns. Those politicians can easily end up bringing war to their countries” states Herman.

Less controversial tracks include thoroughbred rocker ‘I Need Your Love’, glorious, strikingly contemporary ballad ‘Nothing’s Gonna Bring Me Down’, and ‘What About Love’, a cover of Jim Vallance’s song which Heart topped the US Billboard charts with for 28 weeks in 1985. “Our new version has been given the blessing by Jim Vallance himself. His only comment was: ‘Your version is even better than my original, so go for it’,” remembers Rarebell.

The bar may be pretty high for an act with such a talented line-up, but Rock Wolves have, exceeding all expectations, way more than stepped up to the plate with their astonishingly accomplished debut.

Tracii Guns and Phil Lewis reunite LA Guns and release new album in 2017

Frontiers Music Srl is delighted to welcome the reunion of Tracii Guns And Phil Lewis as L.A. GUNS to the label for the release of a brand new album set for release in the summer of 2017.

After a nearly 15 year break, Philip Lewis and Tracii Guns are back together for another chapter in their partnership that began in 1986, four years after Tracii formed L.A. Guns in 1982.

Their writing partnership spawned classic L.A. GUNS songs such as “Sex Action”, “Never Enough”, “Electric Gypsy”, “The Ballad Of Jayne”, and countless more in an impressive catalog of fan favorites. The last time Lewis and Guns joined forces was back in 2000 with legendary producer Andy Johns for the making of what would become “Waking The Dead” – an album that went on to receive tremendous critical acclaim and proved that their musical partnership was every bit as strong as the early days with all-killer-no-filler songs including “Don’t Look At Me That Way”, “Hellraisers Ball”, and “The Ballad”.

“I think we owe it to our fans who have stuck with us during the many ups and downs of the band’s long and checkered career,” says Lewis. “Tracii and I have written the songs to the soundtrack of many people’s lives, and I think it’s definitely worth investigating to see if the magic is still there.”

As for Guns, he’s been compiling song ideas over the last year and promises this one will be one of the band’s heaviest records, simply stating, “It’s good to be home.”

The band has already confirmed a bunch of UK shows in early 2017 and two shows at the legendary Whisky A Go-Go in Los Angeles, CA with more surprises to be announced soon!

Seven – ‘Fight’ official music video

“Fight”, is taken from SEVEN’s new album Shattered, which is released today (September 23rd), by UK label Escape Music Ltd. “Fight” was co-written with well known songwriter Jeff Paris (Mr. Big, Vixen, Y&T, Paul Stanley).

The roots of SEVEN can be traced back to the late ’80s/early ’90s in South Africa, of all places. At the time, Keith McFarlane and the brothers Simon and John LeFevre were in a band called FACE TO FACE, while Mick Devine was drummer in another band, called UC27. After releasing several singles and one album in a period of 18 months, FACE TO FACE split and the brothers LeFevre returned to the U.K. After a few months, they decided to reform the band and Mick was asked to join them in the U.K. as their drummer. It wasn’t before long that the brothers discovered that Mick was actually a better singer than drummer, and so Mick became the band’s lead vocalist. A couple of years later, they were joined by Pat Davey on bass and Austin Lane on drums and the band name was changed to SEVEN.

The AOR scene in the late eighties was a thriving hive of activity. At the turn of the new decade, the likes of Mitch Malloy, Paul Laine, FIREHOUSE, TYKETTO and TALISMAN were all signed up and ready to make an impact on the genre. Everybody wanted an AOR band, and Polydor Records was no exception. Having been fairly successful in the U.K with the likes of MAGNUM and LITTLE ANGELS, the label had set their sights on SEVEN, which at the time was a relatively unknown act from Bournemouth.

SEVEN toured extensively supporting an eclectic variety of acts that included the likes of Jason Donovan, Richard Marx, THE MONKEES and BROTHER BEYOND. It’s a time period that Mick Devine is keen to reminisce about. “Even though they were out and out pop gigs, we loved the crowds and the noise,” he says. “We went from pubs to opening to 3000 screaming fans in Southampton. It is a very addictive adrenaline rush. We got to play all the top venues, which were fantastic — including Wembley Arena, the NEC, BIC, SEC and even the Royal Albert Hall. The Richard Marx tour was definitely the best for us with a more grown up audience we were able to rock it up and truly be ourselves. It went down really well!”

With John Parr as producer, they recorded two very strong singles in the shape of “Inside Love” and “Man With A Vision”, both of which achieved moderate success in the U.K.

In 2014, the original bass player Pat Davey was working alongside Robert Hart on an Escape Music album when the name SEVEN cropped up in the conversation. It would seem that Khalil Turk was a big fan, as Devine explains. “Yeah, back in the day, Khalil had really loved the band and he got in touch to see if we would be interested in finally releasing an album,” he says. Without too much convincing, the project was born.

The production talents of Lars Chriss (the LION’S SHARE guitarist whose repertoire includes albums with Steve Overland, Chris Ousey, LUGNET, NIVA and RADIOACTIVE) were enlisted to produce the band’s debut album, called “7”, which was released to critical acclaim and was held up as one of the “albums of the year” on many lists.

Following the success of the first album, a passion was rekindled within Devine and McFarlane, who began work on new material, and along with the writing talents of Lars Chriss, Fredrik Bergh (BLOODBOUND, ROB MORATTI, STREET TALK), Andy Loos (LION’S SHARE, GLORY, CHRIS OUSEY), Kay Backlund (LION’S SHARE, NIVA) and Jeff Paris (MR. BIG, Y&T, VIXEN, RADIOACTIVE), that passion was given focus and a place to come to life. What they discovered was a well of untapped creativity that had been hidden for far too long and the songs poured out.

SEVEN’s “Shattered” is a collection of wonderfully catchy songs that rely on clean and memorable melodies that allow Devine’s distinctive voice to shine through. It was Devine who took the lead in writing the lyrics on this album, matching the intensity and feel of the music to deliver a modern melodic rock album with influences ranging from hints of FOREIGNER in “A Better Life” and “Broken Dream”, JOURNEY in “High Hopes” and even traces of MAGNUM in “Light Of 1000 Eyes” and “Last Illusion”. The lyrical themes are drawn from a depth of life experience and observations and are heartfelt and real. The production talents of Chriss and the lineup of truly great musicians, deliver an album of depth and variation which ranges from driving guitar-led tracks with memorable riffs to melodic anthems, all backed by stunning keys, bass and standout solos. It is an album that is a worthy follow-up to the critically acclaimed “7”.

Hevidence release debut album ‘Nobody’s Fault’ in December

Frontiers Music Srl announces the release of Hevidence’s debut album, “Nobody’s Fault” on December 2, 2016.

Hevidence is the brainchild of Italian guitar player Diego Reali, founding member of Italian Prog Metal masters DGM. After he left the band in 2006, he started dabbling in some different musical styles, but his heart called for him to get back to metal! Thus Hevidence were born and Diego joined up with DGM bass player Andrea Arcangeli, singer Corrado Quoiani and drummer Emiliano Bonini.

“This band is highly inspired by the classic hard and heavy sounds from the ’70s and ’80s, that’s why we worked hard to make this album sound the most vintage that was possible,” tells Diego. “We are convinced that a huge dose of improvisation during the recording sessions is needed for the success of an original product. Everyone of us has many different musical influences and they came out in a very spontaneous way within the song writing process, we just believe in the word “ROCK”!!!”

Hevidence offer a mature and personal vision of hard rock and metal with a style reminiscent of the classic Official Yngwie Malmsteen albums mixed with power metal and melodic hard rock influences (think early Europe).

An EPK where you can learn more about the band and hear song samples is here:https://youtu.be/TDzEVFY27Yc

The band will be launching the album with a special “Release Party” show in Roma at the JAILBREAK LiveClub on December 1st. For more info:http://www.jailbreakliveclub.it/

Dario Mollo’s Crossbones unleash ‘Rock The Cradle’ in December

Frontiers Music Srl is pleased to announce the release of Dario Mollo’s CROSSBONES new album, “Rock the Cradle” on December 2nd.

Best known for his partnerships in the The Cage with Tony Martin (ex-Black Sabbath) and Voodoo Hill with Glenn Hughes (Black Country Communion, Deep Purple, California Breed), Italian guitarist Dario Mollo began his career in 1981 with the band CROSSBONES. With them, he released his first studio album in 1989, which was produced by Kit Woolven (Thin Lizzy Official, MAGNUM and UFO, among others) before getting involved in the production side of things himself.

For this new CROSSBONES album, the Italian axeman brought back original drummer, Ezio Secomandi with the line-up completed by his regular collaborator Dario Patti on bass and keyboards. The choice for the singer was Carl Sentance (Nazareth, Don Airey Band, Persian Risk, KROKUSonline), who came at the suggestion of Don Airey of Deep Purple, during a recent visit to Dario’s home.

“I think this record has a strong identity and character,” tells Dario. “It is a mature production and the songs range on many styles of hard rock and classic heavy metal, but every song has a catchy chorus. I also think this album shows how much I liked working with Carl. He is easily one of the best singers I have ever worked with. I am certain our cooperation will not end with this cd!” concludes Dario. The quality of the material presented here is witness to that statement.

“Rock the Cradle” tracklisting:

1. Red

2. Take Me High

3. Navigation

4. Rock The Cradle

5. Gates Of Time

6. I Got This Feeling

7. In My Blood

8. Running From The Shadow

Civil War set to release thrid album ‘The Last Full Measure’ in November

Fear an eruption of Sweden’s landmass! Fear the fire, creaking steel and scattered mud!

Civil War are back and shooting martial anthems into the darkened sky. On November 4th the proud Heavy Metal-hitmakers are releasing their third epos The Last Full Measure. The quintet with former Sabaton-members present twin guitars, keyboard-fanfares and doublebass-marches. Full of honor they are flying the flag as high as possible. Eternal Idol release their debut album ‘The Unrevealed Secret’ in December

Frontiers Music Srl is pleased to announce the upcoming release of ETERNAL IDOL’s debut album, entitled “The Unrevealed Secret”, on December 2nd

Eternal Idol is a new band formed in early 2016 and that marks the start of a new musical adventure for Rhapsody Of Fire and Angra singer Fabio Lione, together with the experienced Italian guitar player Nick Savio (exHOLLOW HAZE Official Page) and a line-up completed by the young vocal rising star Giorgia Colleluori, Camillo Colleluori (both also from Hollow Haze) on drums and Andrea Buratto (Secret Sphere, Hell in the Club) on bass.

While all the musicians have solid pedigrees and musical history behind them, ETERNAL IDOL have a brand new and original sound which will certainly catch many fans by surprise. Fabio Lione says, “[a]fter all the experiences with bands such as KAMELOT, Rhapsody of Fire, Angra and many more, I think it is time to show the world a new side of myself with this amazing new band. Musically, ETERNAL IDOL offer an intriguing mix of classic metal, symphonic rock and a few progressive twists which is truly unique, thanks to the combination of female and male vocals.”

Fabio took care of most of the lyrics and vocal melodies, along with three gorgeous tracks he wrote, while Nick Savio worked hard on songwriting and arrangements. “The Unrevealed Secret” is the album where all our ideas came to the light,” says the axeman from Vicenza. “Heavy classic rock with symphonic elements and the magic atmosphere of two lead vocals, male and female, create a contrast between good and bad as the main subject, as it is possible to see on the impressive and mysterious cover artwork.”

The album was recorded in the summer of 2016, produced by Nick Savio and mixed by Simone Mularoni (DGM, Sunstorm) and promises to be one of the melodic metal releases of the year. Fans of Kamelot, Magnus Karlsson’s Free Fall, MasterPlan, and Avantasia should pay attention.

Upcoming From AOR Heaven In April (New Releases: Alien and Sunstrike) (Videos)

AOR Heaven’s upcoming April 25 releases have been announced. They are Sunstrike and Alien. Read on –

Alien, one of Sweden’s finest Melodic Rock band have released genre classics such as “Alien” (1988/89) and “Shiftin’ Gear” (1990) including chart and platinum hits like “Only One Woman”, “Tears Don’t Put Out The Fire” and “Brave New Love”. The original line-up was split up in 1989 and when reunited in 2010 a handful of festivals were booked to coincide with the return including performances at Sweden Rock Festival, Getaway Rock and Firefest a.o. The release of the brand new single “Ready To Fly” (Manora Rec) went down great with the fans and especially the response from the crowd at the Firefest. 2011 made the band really consider making this new album.
In 2013, the No Remorse/EMI CD re-issue (ltd 1000 copies) of the debut album “Alien” (s/t Scandinavian) reached no.1 in the Import Album Chart in Japan and was quickly sold out. To celebrate the 25th anniversary of the debut EMI Music Sweden re-mastered and released the back catalogue digitally including some previously unreleased demos as bonus. To top it off the “Alien – 25th Anniversary” 2CD deluxe limited edition was put out and soon sold out as well. The re-release of the “Shiftin’ Gear” CD (AOR Heaven) including four bonus tracks shed some light on the fact that the original line-up wrote and pre-produced a sophomore album, before disbanding in late 1989. Recordings of the new album started Aug 1st at Bohus Sound and continued throughout 2013, taking a break only to perform at the Firefest 10th Anniversary show.
Alien decided to add a song, “I’m a fighter”, written back in the 80’s by their L.A. co-writers Pam Barlow and Janet Morrison Minto, as an homage to their co-work on the debut album. The regained contact with Pam and Janet led to them writing lyrics for this album as well.

SunStrike: A glare in the road that can temporarily blind drivers. But SunStrike will blind you with catchy melodies and big choruses! The band was formed by guitarist Joachim Nordlund and the drummer Johan Lindstedt together with singer Christian Hedgren (Twilight Force, The Theander Expression) by the fall of 2012. You also find Joachim and Johan in the Swedish metal act Astral Doors. Right from the start the three guys had a very clear image in how the music should sound like: pure melodic hard rock was on the agenda! When only a handful of songs were written they felt that the songs needed the touch of a real keyboard player. Up until then Joachim had done the keyboard parts on one or two songs. Christian knew a guy that would be perfect for the job, and after a cup of coffee and a handshake Fredrik Plahn (Prey) joined the force. They all felt that this is far too good to be just a project and after a couple of weeks a second guitar player, Mats Gesar (Thalamus) and bass player Bjцrn Lundqvist (Twilight Force) joined the band that now got the name SunStrike.
Two demo songs were posted on the band’s facebook page in the summer of 2013, and immediately the word was out about this new melodic rock outfit from Sweden. Radio stations started to play those songs and a couple of record companies showed their interest in the band. The song-writing/recording continued through 2013 in Joachim’s Big Turn Studio until they had 12 songs that were strong enough for the album ”Rock your World”. For the mixing and mastering process SunStrike chose Erik Mеrtensson (Eclipse, W.E.T). Cover art and the booklet design was done by no one else but Carl-Andrй Beckston (Monowasp).

A New Dynazty Set To Rise From Sweden

“Third time’s the charm,” the old adage says. Could be. But the fourth is the fortune. With their 4th outing RenatusDynazty starts it history anew on February 28.
Stockholm, Sweden’s Dynazty was established by hard rock loving dudes Love Magnusson and John Berg in 2007. After a wee bit of line-up tweaking and unearthing from obscurity an ace vocalist Nils Molin in 2008 the fearsome fivesome was ready to take on the world. Since then, in mere five years, Dynazty has released three albums, toured internationally, criss-crossed Sweden and made themselves a household name there e.g. by playing at the wildly popular mainstream event Melodifestivalen already twice: in 2011 as a guest, and in 2012 as a contestant, almost making the top 10 out of 3485 total songs.
The number of contestant songs alone sounds incredible, but hey – it’s Sweden. Abba, the tradition of musical excellence and so forth. No need to say more? Didn’t think so either. Destined for greatness right from the outset, Dynazty witnessed the first signs of widespread success with 2011’s “Knock You Down”, the album that rose to #21 on the Swedish Mainstream Album Charts and hit #1 on the Metal Album Charts. Its successor “Sultans of Sin”, released on the Leap Day of 2012, continued the conquest with position #8 on the Mainstream Album Chart. Everything looked hunky-dory, to say the least.
Despite the on-going success, the band would not be Dynazty had they chosen to rest on their laurels. The old saying goes that “you shouldn’t alter a winning team”. Another says that “you shouldn’t fix that which is not broken”. Yet Dynazty has after the previous album done both. They’ve both set themselves a challenge and risen to it. After all, challenges are opportunities in disguise.
Let us quote the group themselves: “After 4 years, 3 studio albums and shows on almost every continent of the globe we took the time in late 2012 to really figure out what we wanted this band to be in the future. Updating ourselves both musically and sonically to a place where we felt that we wanted to be right now was paramount and once we started to write “Renatus” everything fell into place. Heavier and faster-paced music with big arrangements built around soaring vocal melodies is the recipe for this album and talking about firsts, this is the first album with our new bass player and band member, the first to be produced by ourselves and the first to be released on Spinefarm, Finland.”
Dynazty have with “Renatus” concocted the ingredients for a sonic bomb that may well be heard throughout the world. Blah blah and yeah, yeah, we know, we know: every album you read about is told to be the best thing since sliced bread and whatnot. Just that this time you can take my word for it. “Renatus” is not your run of the mill hard rock album. And if you don’t hear it yourself, you better donate your ears to someone who knows what the hell to do with them!
