Tracii Guns and Phil Lewis reunite LA Guns and release new album in 2017

Frontiers Music Srl is delighted to welcome the reunion of Tracii Guns And Phil Lewis as L.A. GUNS to the label for the release of a brand new album set for release in the summer of 2017.

After a nearly 15 year break, Philip Lewis and Tracii Guns are back together for another chapter in their partnership that began in 1986, four years after Tracii formed L.A. Guns in 1982.

Their writing partnership spawned classic L.A. GUNS songs such as “Sex Action”, “Never Enough”, “Electric Gypsy”, “The Ballad Of Jayne”, and countless more in an impressive catalog of fan favorites. The last time Lewis and Guns joined forces was back in 2000 with legendary producer Andy Johns for the making of what would become “Waking The Dead” – an album that went on to receive tremendous critical acclaim and proved that their musical partnership was every bit as strong as the early days with all-killer-no-filler songs including “Don’t Look At Me That Way”, “Hellraisers Ball”, and “The Ballad”.

“I think we owe it to our fans who have stuck with us during the many ups and downs of the band’s long and checkered career,” says Lewis. “Tracii and I have written the songs to the soundtrack of many people’s lives, and I think it’s definitely worth investigating to see if the magic is still there.”

As for Guns, he’s been compiling song ideas over the last year and promises this one will be one of the band’s heaviest records, simply stating, “It’s good to be home.”

The band has already confirmed a bunch of UK shows in early 2017 and two shows at the legendary Whisky A Go-Go in Los Angeles, CA with more surprises to be announced soon!

Seven – ‘Fight’ official music video

“Fight”, is taken from SEVEN’s new album Shattered, which is released today (September 23rd), by UK label Escape Music Ltd. “Fight” was co-written with well known songwriter Jeff Paris (Mr. Big, Vixen, Y&T, Paul Stanley).

The roots of SEVEN can be traced back to the late ’80s/early ’90s in South Africa, of all places. At the time, Keith McFarlane and the brothers Simon and John LeFevre were in a band called FACE TO FACE, while Mick Devine was drummer in another band, called UC27. After releasing several singles and one album in a period of 18 months, FACE TO FACE split and the brothers LeFevre returned to the U.K. After a few months, they decided to reform the band and Mick was asked to join them in the U.K. as their drummer. It wasn’t before long that the brothers discovered that Mick was actually a better singer than drummer, and so Mick became the band’s lead vocalist. A couple of years later, they were joined by Pat Davey on bass and Austin Lane on drums and the band name was changed to SEVEN.

The AOR scene in the late eighties was a thriving hive of activity. At the turn of the new decade, the likes of Mitch Malloy, Paul Laine, FIREHOUSE, TYKETTO and TALISMAN were all signed up and ready to make an impact on the genre. Everybody wanted an AOR band, and Polydor Records was no exception. Having been fairly successful in the U.K with the likes of MAGNUM and LITTLE ANGELS, the label had set their sights on SEVEN, which at the time was a relatively unknown act from Bournemouth.

SEVEN toured extensively supporting an eclectic variety of acts that included the likes of Jason Donovan, Richard Marx, THE MONKEES and BROTHER BEYOND. It’s a time period that Mick Devine is keen to reminisce about. “Even though they were out and out pop gigs, we loved the crowds and the noise,” he says. “We went from pubs to opening to 3000 screaming fans in Southampton. It is a very addictive adrenaline rush. We got to play all the top venues, which were fantastic — including Wembley Arena, the NEC, BIC, SEC and even the Royal Albert Hall. The Richard Marx tour was definitely the best for us with a more grown up audience we were able to rock it up and truly be ourselves. It went down really well!”

With John Parr as producer, they recorded two very strong singles in the shape of “Inside Love” and “Man With A Vision”, both of which achieved moderate success in the U.K.

In 2014, the original bass player Pat Davey was working alongside Robert Hart on an Escape Music album when the name SEVEN cropped up in the conversation. It would seem that Khalil Turk was a big fan, as Devine explains. “Yeah, back in the day, Khalil had really loved the band and he got in touch to see if we would be interested in finally releasing an album,” he says. Without too much convincing, the project was born.

The production talents of Lars Chriss (the LION’S SHARE guitarist whose repertoire includes albums with Steve Overland, Chris Ousey, LUGNET, NIVA and RADIOACTIVE) were enlisted to produce the band’s debut album, called “7”, which was released to critical acclaim and was held up as one of the “albums of the year” on many lists.

Following the success of the first album, a passion was rekindled within Devine and McFarlane, who began work on new material, and along with the writing talents of Lars Chriss, Fredrik Bergh (BLOODBOUND, ROB MORATTI, STREET TALK), Andy Loos (LION’S SHARE, GLORY, CHRIS OUSEY), Kay Backlund (LION’S SHARE, NIVA) and Jeff Paris (MR. BIG, Y&T, VIXEN, RADIOACTIVE), that passion was given focus and a place to come to life. What they discovered was a well of untapped creativity that had been hidden for far too long and the songs poured out.

SEVEN’s “Shattered” is a collection of wonderfully catchy songs that rely on clean and memorable melodies that allow Devine’s distinctive voice to shine through. It was Devine who took the lead in writing the lyrics on this album, matching the intensity and feel of the music to deliver a modern melodic rock album with influences ranging from hints of FOREIGNER in “A Better Life” and “Broken Dream”, JOURNEY in “High Hopes” and even traces of MAGNUM in “Light Of 1000 Eyes” and “Last Illusion”. The lyrical themes are drawn from a depth of life experience and observations and are heartfelt and real. The production talents of Chriss and the lineup of truly great musicians, deliver an album of depth and variation which ranges from driving guitar-led tracks with memorable riffs to melodic anthems, all backed by stunning keys, bass and standout solos. It is an album that is a worthy follow-up to the critically acclaimed “7”.

Hevidence release debut album ‘Nobody’s Fault’ in December

Frontiers Music Srl announces the release of Hevidence’s debut album, “Nobody’s Fault” on December 2, 2016.

Hevidence is the brainchild of Italian guitar player Diego Reali, founding member of Italian Prog Metal masters DGM. After he left the band in 2006, he started dabbling in some different musical styles, but his heart called for him to get back to metal! Thus Hevidence were born and Diego joined up with DGM bass player Andrea Arcangeli, singer Corrado Quoiani and drummer Emiliano Bonini.

“This band is highly inspired by the classic hard and heavy sounds from the ’70s and ’80s, that’s why we worked hard to make this album sound the most vintage that was possible,” tells Diego. “We are convinced that a huge dose of improvisation during the recording sessions is needed for the success of an original product. Everyone of us has many different musical influences and they came out in a very spontaneous way within the song writing process, we just believe in the word “ROCK”!!!”

Hevidence offer a mature and personal vision of hard rock and metal with a style reminiscent of the classic Official Yngwie Malmsteen albums mixed with power metal and melodic hard rock influences (think early Europe).

An EPK where you can learn more about the band and hear song samples is here:https://youtu.be/TDzEVFY27Yc

The band will be launching the album with a special “Release Party” show in Roma at the JAILBREAK LiveClub on December 1st. For more info:http://www.jailbreakliveclub.it/

Dario Mollo’s Crossbones unleash ‘Rock The Cradle’ in December

Frontiers Music Srl is pleased to announce the release of Dario Mollo’s CROSSBONES new album, “Rock the Cradle” on December 2nd.

Best known for his partnerships in the The Cage with Tony Martin (ex-Black Sabbath) and Voodoo Hill with Glenn Hughes (Black Country Communion, Deep Purple, California Breed), Italian guitarist Dario Mollo began his career in 1981 with the band CROSSBONES. With them, he released his first studio album in 1989, which was produced by Kit Woolven (Thin Lizzy Official, MAGNUM and UFO, among others) before getting involved in the production side of things himself.

For this new CROSSBONES album, the Italian axeman brought back original drummer, Ezio Secomandi with the line-up completed by his regular collaborator Dario Patti on bass and keyboards. The choice for the singer was Carl Sentance (Nazareth, Don Airey Band, Persian Risk, KROKUSonline), who came at the suggestion of Don Airey of Deep Purple, during a recent visit to Dario’s home.

“I think this record has a strong identity and character,” tells Dario. “It is a mature production and the songs range on many styles of hard rock and classic heavy metal, but every song has a catchy chorus. I also think this album shows how much I liked working with Carl. He is easily one of the best singers I have ever worked with. I am certain our cooperation will not end with this cd!” concludes Dario. The quality of the material presented here is witness to that statement.

“Rock the Cradle” tracklisting:

1. Red

2. Take Me High

3. Navigation

4. Rock The Cradle

5. Gates Of Time

6. I Got This Feeling

Frontiers Music Srl is pleased to announce the upcoming release of ETERNAL IDOL’s debut album, entitled “The Unrevealed Secret”, on December 2nd

Eternal Idol is a new band formed in early 2016 and that marks the start of a new musical adventure for Rhapsody Of Fire and Angra singer Fabio Lione, together with the experienced Italian guitar player Nick Savio (exHOLLOW HAZE Official Page) and a line-up completed by the young vocal rising star Giorgia Colleluori, Camillo Colleluori (both also from Hollow Haze) on drums and Andrea Buratto (Secret Sphere, Hell in the Club) on bass.

Fabio Lione says, “[a]fter all the experiences with bands such as KAMELOT, Rhapsody of Fire, Angra and many more, I think it is time to show the world a new side of myself with this amazing new band. Musically, ETERNAL IDOL offer an intriguing mix of classic metal, symphonic rock and a few progressive twists which is truly unique, thanks to the combination of female and male vocals.”

The album was recorded in the summer of 2016, produced by Nick Savio and mixed by Simone Mularoni (DGM, Sunstorm) and promises to be one of the melodic metal releases of the year. Fans of Kamelot, Magnus Karlsson’s Free Fall, MasterPlan, and Avantasia should pay attention.

ADRENALIN RUSH RELEASE THEIR SELF TITLED DEBUT ON FRONTIERS IN AUGUST:
Frontiers Records is pleased to announce the release of the anticipated Adrenaline Rush self-titled debut album on August 22nd in Europe and August 26th in North America.
Fronted by the gorgeous and talented Tеve Wanning (formerly part of the platinum selling Teen-Pop duo Peaches), Adrenaline Rush promises to fire up the international rock scene with their lethal dose of heavy guitars, infectious hooks and full blown R n’ R attitude! The musicians completing the line-up were hand-picked from bands around Stockholm, all having different backgrounds and each of them an important piece of the puzzle.

The debut album was recorded and written under the direction of producer Erik Mеrtensson (Eclipse, W.E.T) and features 11 energetic, live-oriented tracks with strong melodies and powerful riffs. The modern production keeps the spirit of the 1980ґs alive and should appeal to fans of bands like Danger Danger, Vixen, Dokken, Warrant, Treat and Crazy Lixx.
“We want to entertain and be the soundtrack of the party – it’s all about foot-stomping, head-banging tracks that make you want to get up and dance and drive your car much too fast. My favorite track other than the single Change is Playin’ to Win, it always gets me in a good mood. Making this record with Erik was a wild ride and I hope you will ENJOY THE RUSH!” – Tеve.

Frontiers launched Adrenaline Rush with the digital release of the first single “Change” in late April. The track can be downloaded via this link from iTunes www.smarturl.it/adrenalinesingleit or listened to via streaming services like Spotify or Deezer.
The single was followed by an EPK that can be seen at youtu.be/AnMPo1zATlE.

The band then went on to play the Frontiers Rock Festival in Milan where their dynamic performance left a lasting impression on the attending rockers. Everything is now finally in place for the release of the album and the band is ready to take the show on the road with this killer new release!

“Adrenaline Rush” track list: Black n’ Blue; Change; Generation Left Behind; Girls Gone Wild; When We’re Gone; Want it All; Too Young to Die; Oh Yeah!; No No No; Playin’ to Win; Hit You Like a Rock.

STEVE PERRY MAKES IT TO THE STAGE FOR THE THIRD TIME:
Steve Perry joins The Eels again, this time in LA for 5 songs: It’s A Motherfucker, Only 16, Lights, Open Arms and Loving Touching Squeezing!

From The Hollywood Reporter (www.hollywoodreporter.com) – Journey’s Steve Perry Joins Eels Onstage at Orpheum: ‘The 20-Year Hermit Thing is Overrated’
6/12/2014 by Tim Appelo
Journey’s Steve Perry joins Eels to continue his comeback tour at L.A.’s Orpheum Theater.

After Eels’ triumphant performance at L.A.’s Orpheum Theater last night concluded with a five-song encore, including Nilsson’s “Turn on Your Radio,” the band was joined by Journey’s legendary one-time lead vocalist Steve Perry, who has joined them on several dates of their current tour after decades of avoiding the stage.
“The interesting thing about this guy is, he walked away from it all 20 years ago,” observed Eels leader Mark Oliver “E” Everett, addressing the crowd from the stage, “and then in Minneapolis, he came back to sing with us. Then he walked away again, and six days later in Washington, D.C., he came back again. And then he walked away again. Ladies and gentlemen, for the first time anywhere in 12 days — and the first time in L.A. in 20 years — please welcome Steve Perry!”

“It’s been so goddamn long,” said Perry to the audience. “I gotta thank the Eels for inviting me out here — the best band that any singer could want. I met E because of a friend of mine, Patty [Jenkins, director of Monster]. She burnt me a CD of Daisies of the Galaxy, and I told Patty, ‘Someday I want to sing that song.'” Then Perry and Eels performed the Eels tune, “It’s a Motherf—er.”
“Steve motherf—in’ Perry! He IS a motherf—er,” exulted E, who then joined Perry in a superb rendition of Sam Cooke’s “Only 16,” which morphed into a bit of Journey’s “Open Arms.”
“Steve, what about trying one you haven’t done in a long time?” asked E. “You did that one 11 days ago.”

“How about this one?” said Perry. “I wrote this one in LA, then I joined this band called Journey, moved to San Francisco, and we finished it up ithere, and changed ‘L.A.’ to ‘the Bay.'” Dancing like a man at least 20 years younger than his 65 years, Perry rocked out on “Lights (When the Lights Go Down in the City),” nimbly leaping over the microphone cords perilously snaked around the stage, turning his back on the audience to groove with Eels drummer Knuckles (Derek Brown), then facing the audience to hit the high trills flawlessly, yet with a new rasp in his voice sounding just a bit like E himself.
“The ‘cit-ee’ is L.A.!” shouted E.

“Here’s another,” said Perry. “I was 18, working as an assistant engineer in a music studio… I’m out of breath! I guess I haven’t done this enough lately to get in shape. Anyway, I was 18, and this girl pulls up in a Corvette with a guy, and they were mackin’ it up — tongue and shit! She denied it. So I wrote a song about it, and it went like this.” Perry then launched into “Lovin’ Touchin’ Squeezin’,” putting his hand to his ear to make the audience sing along (rather well) with the “na na na na” chorus. When he hit the high notes, he sounded like Minnie Riperton on testosterone.
At a party after the show, Knuckles said, “We’ve been bugging him to perform for years. He came to our rehearsals, we’d play a Journey song, and he’d say, ‘Oh, guys, I’m not gonna do that.’ He’s a sweet guy we’re happy to play with, not just because he’s Steve Perry, but also ’cause he’s a buddy.”
“He does ‘It’s a Motherf—er’ completely different,” said E. “When I sing it without him, I feel like I’m just like basically talking.”

“Listen, I’ve done the 20-year hermit thing, and it’s overrated,” said Perry. “Why now? It’s a long story, but it has to do with a lot of changes in my life, including losing my girlfriend a year ago, and her wish to hear me sing again.” Writer Joel Stein, who plays croquet with Perry and Eels, said, “I know she had cancer.” Jon Hamm, a friend of Eels, said, “You’ve got to remember, Steve’s in his 60s — it’s a pretty impressive performance. It was really nice to hear that voice again.”
“When he sang ‘Only 16,’ the hairs stood up on my head,” said Eels guitarist and trumpet player P-Boo (Mike Sawitzke). “He sounds better with a rasp, more mature and grown-up.”
But all members of Eels’ croquet circle urge the public to stop believing in Perry as a croquet player. “He was bad,” said Stein. “His croquet nickname was ‘Hacksaw’ or ‘Chainsaw.'”
As an Eels singer, however, Perry shows distinct promise. “I passed the audition!” he said.

UNRULY CHILD – NEW ALBUM UPDATE:
An update on the pending new material from Unruly Child: “Guy Allison here. As is the case in many artistic endeavors, we have scheduling conflicts that have set us behind our own self-imposed schedule. My touring schedule with the Doobies and Bruce’s business schedule with his other creative ventures are usually aligned and easy to work within. However, this last month, Bruce has come down with what appears to be the very same cold/flu that laid me out in April. It’s a bad one!
When you’re sick, it just sucks to work. So, during this time when we could be finishing up our last bit of recording before my next leg, we’ve had to postpone our studio time together.
Marcie has also had a family emergency that has taken her attention (understandably) temporarily away from the UC project as well.
We are very eager to finish up these last three tracks, but in keeping with our normal high standards, we have decided to push forward upon my return at the end of June. We completely appreciate everyone’s support and patience.
We’re very close. And we want it to be right!
Thanks, G. ~ Unruly Child.

R.I.P ANOTHER AUSSIE ROCK LEGEND:
Another day another loss. The Australian rock community has lost another icon – Master Apprentices’ frontman Jim Keays has passed away at the age of 67 – www.noise11.com/?p=60631.
R.I.P. Jim.

BOMBAY BLACK ADD NEW DRUMMER:
Attention Bombay Black fans – today we would like to announce that we are saying good-bye to our “Beast”. Original drummer Rob McCauley is retiring from life on the road with Bombay Black. With his oldest son making quite a name for himself on the national BMX race circuit, along with running his many business ventures, he has decided to concentrate his efforts toward his family. As much as we will miss him, Rob races BMX as well so we still get to watch him kick some ass – but now on the track instead of the stage.
We wish him the best and hope that you will all take the time to do the same. Don’t be surprised to see Rob hanging out with the band at the occasional tour stop. (He still knows how to parallel park that tour bus better than any of our regular pack of drivers.)
As you can imagine, finding a replacement was not easy. Enter Barry Whaley. With over twenty years’ experience swinging sticks Barry has played on over 2 dozen different projects as a studio musician and has toured with several bands including Burning Cold, Lost And Labeled and Freakshow. Welcome Barry to the Bombay Black family and come meet him on tour this summer. Things are really starting to heat up in the Bombay Black camp, the new album Walk Of Shame will be going on pre-sale Monday June 23rd. Stay tuned for a look at the album artwork and the first song to be released soon!

THE LAST UPDATE:
Today marks the LAST time the website will be updated in its current form. It’s hard to believe I’m actually at this point, but here we are finally. Monday will see the brand new MelodicRock.com unveiled hopefully without a glitch! The new site represents a new way of doing things, but once you find familiarity with it, I’m sure all will agree that the powers of social media integration and the ability to log, search and archive every post, review, artist and more will prove an invaluable resource. Not to mention the ability to comment and share each post.
I’d like to take this opportunity to thank everyone for their loyalty to MelodicRock.com as a source of discovery for this great music we all love.

The current MelodicRock.com site will remain online forever and linked from the new site, but gradually I will move all 16 years’ worth of reviews and interviews to the new site for search and archive purposes. No more losing old reviews or searching high and low for them!

Onwards and upwards we go….tune in Monday for something different 🙂

STATE OF SALAZAR GOING ALL THE WAY WITH THE RELEASE OF THEIR DEBUT ALBUM:
Frontiers Records is pleased to announce the release of Swedish melodic rockers State Of Salazar debut album entitled All the Way on August 22 in Europe and August 26 in North America.

State Of Salazar came to the attention of Frontiers A&R dept after the release of their debut EP ”Lost my Way” in the summer of 2012. Reviews spread fast in magazines and blogs and created a flood of praise from all over the world during a very short period: “This is something that can grow really big.” “…State Of Salazar will undoubtedly be one of the highlights of the genre.” “…this EP is an extremely polished piece of art…” “The performances and the production are superb…”

With bands such as Toto, Queen, Journey, Survivor and especially Bill Conti and Vince DiCola (Rocky IV’s Training Montage writer and performer) in their influences list, STATE OF SALAZAR have indeed a lot to prove. They handle all this pressure with their heads held high since it is a quintet with great musicians! All members – Marcus Nygren, vocals, Johan Thuresson, guitars, Johannes Hansson, bass, Kristian Brun, drums and Stefan Mеrtenson, keyboards – have extensive live and studio experience. In other words, these guys know what they are doing and they already showed it to the unsuspecting public of the first Frontiers Rock Festival in Milan where they took the audience by surprise with their “feel good” Melodic Rock music.

“I feel that I’ve developed my songwriting a lot since the songs for the EP” says singer Marcus Nygren“However everyone of us put his own personality on the musical performances on the album and every single detail has been worked with and we sound like a band who took it All The Way!” “More than a year of hard work from everyone involved, made it possible for us to develop our sound and actually find out who we are, musically as a group” adds bassist Johannes Hansson“From epic synths, angelic choirs and guitar soundscapes to unison low E-string riffs we’ve allowed ourselves to indulge what we want the music to say without having to adapt. Believe me when I say that big things are coming in 2014”, concludes guitarist Johan Thuresson.

State Of Salazar is therefore ready to show the world that they are definitely not a retro band, or a walk down memory lane. They write songs and play music that strives forward and not backwards. Their songwriting, arranging and instrumental performance show that this is a band that wants to develop and give its contribution to the Melodic Rock genre.

Get a taste of things to come watching the band’s EPK via this link: youtu.be/JHcQ8kT1MVU.
“All the Way” will include the following tracks: I Believe In You; Field of Dreams; All the Way; Love of My Life; Eat Your Heart Out; Time to Say Goodbye; Marie; Let Me Love; Catastrophe; Always; Adrian; End of Time.

BALANCE BACK ONCE AGAIN FOR SWEDEN SHOWS:
The Iconic Melodic Rock Band Balance is scheduled to regroup for a round of Live Shows based out of Sweden for the end of Summer 2014. This will kick off in the Swedish coastal town of Vдstervik (home of famous music festivals and the group ABBA), on Friday August 22, 2014. The next night, Balance will play in the university city of Linkцping as part of its annual party. Both shows are sponsored by the Swedish national organization Sensus.
Based on a Youtube viewing of 4 young 10 yr. old Swedish girls called the SeaTeens singing a cover version of one of the band’s well known songs “Is It Over” at the Hojrock Festival in Vдstervik the summer of 2013, Peppy Castro (original founding member), was so taken by the videos (www.youtube.com/watch?v=7-KoKSyDzdE and www.youtube.com/watch?v=DYxJZQmS1oQ) that it spawned the reunion of the band.
The Melodic Rock and AOR scene are made up of legendary albums and bands, which, as time goes by, become even more respected among the community of fans. Balance is exactly one of those bands, whose name and reputation, like good wine, has stood the test of time for decades. Original members, Peppy Castro, Bob Kulick and Doug Katsaros, will be reuniting for a round of shows in Europe in late summer 2014 based out of Sweden where it has all started again thanks to Sweden’s own Sea Teens.

As proof of the many talents of the artists involved in Balance, all members went on to brilliant careers in music following the group’s recording years. Grammy award winning Producer/Guitarist Bob Kulick’s credits read like a who’s who of heavy metal and rock bands, working in the studio, recording or producing or playing live with Meat Loaf, Kiss, Wasp, Paul Stanley Band, Lou Reed, John Cale, Michael Bolton, Dee Snider, Motorhead, Alice Cooper, Tim Curry, etc, etc…Doug Katsaros, Grammy and Emmy winner, sang & arranged for KISS, Rod Stewart, Cher, Bon Jovi, Sinйad O’Connor, Aerosmith and Georg “Jojje” Wadenius, among others, and he worked in several rockin’ Broadway shows, including The Rocky Horror Show and Footloose. Peppy Castro, Emmy nominated and inducted into The Long Island Music Hall of Fame, is considered to be one of the early pioneers of the Psychedelic Garage band rock era. His 1st hit record began at the age of 17 as one of the founding fathers of the legendary rock group, “The Blues Magoos.” His rock and roll status led him to a starring role in the original Broadway Production of Hair. He has written songs for and sang on records by Diana Ross, Kiss, Laura Branigan, Michael Bolton, Cher, Joan Jett, Ronnie Spector etc., and is even one of the producers of the hit off Broadway show (The Gong Show) in New York. All the members of Balance have had a long affiliation on many levels with KISS.

Balance will be joined on stage with two seasoned and respected musicians who hail from the depths of the Swedish rock brigade. Jonas Wikstrom on drums and Dan Larsson on bass will complete the line-up of Balance. NIGHT BY NIGHT PUSH ALBUM BACK ONE MONTH:
News from Night By Night: “After some deliberation, we’ve decided to postpone the release date of our June 16th to July as to avoid clashes with the Download Festival and Sweden Rock. As you’ll understand, it’s really important for us to be able to get press and radio attention around the release of the album and we’re concerned that the rock media won’t have time for a (relatively) new band’s debut amidst all the events of June.
Therefore, we’ve decided to change the date to July 11th (Mainland Europe) 14th (UK) and 15th (USA/Canada). We hope you understand – we’ve put the last 4 years into this album, so really want to ensure we get off to a great start with it!
However – we will still be giving you some NxN delights in June, with the release of a digital single and video on June 23rd (more news soon) and we will play a London release show on July 17th (again, more news on this ASAP).
Thank you for continuing to support us! Not long now! Ben, Hen, Jon, Tom and Damien.”

This will be the first of a series of single releases that will happen every 2-3 months. Stay tuned to each release at: www.facebook.com/scarlettmoonlight.

Scarlett Moonlight, formerly known as Scarlett Shadow, is a Rhode Island based original Rock band in the style of Survivor, Foreigner, Whitesnake, Bon Jovi and Journey. They first came together when Michael Geiser, former bass player for Firebrand, met Fran Rodriguez, former keyboardist for the band Nexx. They then asked Mike Rodenbaugh, guitarist with Shotgun Still, to join on Guitar and Bob Myron on drums. They needed the right singer for the band, and Fran brought in Jacob Guajardo and the band Scarlett Moonlight was born.
Scarlett Moonlight has been in Michael’s studio for the last year writing and recording their first group of 13 songs, which will be released one at a time as they are finished. In this day of digital music outlets and stores the need to release and entire album at one time is not as necessary as it once was. XLRATOR MEDIA PLUGS INTO DUFF McKAGAN’S “IT’S SO EASY AND OTHER LIES”:
Los Angeles (May 14, 2014) – XLrator Media announced today that it has acquired from Vision Films the North American distribution rights for former Guns N’ Roses bassist Duff McKagan’s autobiographical documentary, It’s So Easy And Other Lies. The film is currently in production with financing provided by Scatena & Rosner Films. Based on the New York Times best-seller about McKagan’s life, the film is written and directed by Christopher Duddy, produced by Daniel Zirilli, Duff McKagan, Christopher Duddy, and Steven G. Kaplan of Rainstorm Entertainment, and executive produced by Lise Romanoff, Gato Scatena, Jordan Rosner, Birgit Stein, Hans Stangl and Katherine Thomson.
The deal was negotiated by Vision Films’ Managing Director/CEO, Worldwide Distribution Lise Romanoff, Steven G. Kaplan and XLrator Media CEO Barry Gordon.
“Duff’s remarkable life will be the ultimate ‘insider’ rock n’ roll documentary chronicling Duff’s rise as a punk-rock teen prodigy from Seattle, to the heights of super-stardom as a founding member of Guns N’ Roses and Velvet Revolver, to the depths of substance abuse and addiction. All of these things have defined Duff and have led him to his current, and most rewarding, life chapter. Everyone will be moved by his story,” said Gordon.

McKagan said: “I’m one of the fortunate ones who survived the trials of severe drug and alcohol addiction. I not only survived, but am blessed with seeing life from a whole different and brighter perspective. This film and stage show from the book, will hopefully expose some stark insight, knowledgeable commentary, and humor of this rock and roll life of mine.”

This authorized documentary takes the audience on an incredible cinematic journey from a driven Seattle teenager’s meager beginnings to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. The man is Michael McKagan, better known to the world as “Duff.” The band is Guns N’ Roses. The band became the ultimate icons of sex, drugs and rock and roll, causing pandemonium in their wake, but the lifestyle caught up with Duff, leaving him close to death. Follow Duff’s journey through original archival footage and interviews with many of the people who took this wild ride, including a constellation of rock stars that rose to fame alongside him, and the people who inspired him to overcome his addictions. Duff provides a voice that is as honest as it is indelibly his own as he takes viewers on his harrowing journey through the dark heart of one of the most notorious bands in rock and roll history and out the other side.

It’s So Easy And Other Lies began production by capturing one of Duff’s book readings at the Moore Theatre in Seattle. The film will contain rare archive footage from Marc Canter, who filmed all the early footage of Guns N’ Roses behind the scenes and performances. “Vision Films is excited to be distributing “It’s So Easy And Other Lies” globally,” said Lise Romanoff, Managing Director and CEO of Worldwide Distribution. “The film is a one of a kind look into the life of one of the most iconic musicians in Rock history.”

BASSIST ERIK SCOTT TO RELEASE SECOND WORLD MUSIC ALBUM ‘AND THE EARTH BLEEDS’:
“A rocking bassist takes trips down unconventional musical roads, with apparently no rules or signposts. Medieval gypsy violin, Celtic melodies, steel guitars….. surprises.”

San Francisco, CA – Much to the excitement of music aficionados worldwide, bassist/composer Erik Scott will be releasing his sophomore CD ‘And The Earth Bleeds’ on May 8, 2014. Best known for his work with Alice Cooper, Sonia Dada, and Flo & Eddie, Erik’s newest release takes the listener on an aural voyage through ethereal and otherworldly musical landscapes. ‘And The Earth Bleeds’ adds some vocals, gypsy violins, Celtic melodies, a dash of steel guitar, a wisp of French horns and other surprises to the soulful and mystic brew of his first ‘solo’ album, ‘Other Planets’. And Erik continues to stretch convention with his melodic playing and bass-generated SFX.

Says Erik, “There are people who carefully plan out the direction of their music…smart. Then there’s me. I pretty much have no idea at the start. I get in the music room and start messing around on something; bass guitar, chord changes on the keyboard, or a beat on the beat programmer. If I like something, it just starts to build. The lyrics on the five songs with lyrics on this CD…well, they happened later, when it seemed that the music alone wasn’t saying all that I wanted.”ќ
Among the eclectic mix, there is a definite Scottish influence in the music – especially on the tracks “Free”, “The Battle For Neverland”ќ and “Run”. Erik explains, “I went to the Scottish Highlands and Edinburgh last August 2013. I had completely written and recorded ‘Free’ as an instrumental, when I was reminded of the price some people have paid for their freedom, in this case William Wallace of Scotland. It seemed that I needed to say a few words…not a lot…just a few. After returning from the Highlands, I found the trip had helped me complete the Scottish inspired pieces. The melody, originally played on bass, took on such a haunting beauty when played on the veille (medieval violin) by Shira Kammen, that I decided it was the music to which I should write the lyrics that became ‘Free’.”ќ

“Free”ќ is inspired by, and dedicated to William Wallace. “The Battle For Neverland”ќ is inspired by J.M. Barrie, the Scottish creator of ‘Peter Pan’, and “Run”ќ is decidedly influenced by traditional Celtic melodies. Also the bridge to “Battle”ќ is inspired by a traditional Scottish melody “The Haughs of Cromdale”ќ. Watch the promotional video for “Free”ќ: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1mjAUnayIb8.
Erik Scott’s first real break in the music business came in mid-1974 when he was hired to play bass for former Turtles/Frank Zappa’s Mothers members Flo & Eddie (Mark Volman and Howard Kaylan). Erik recalls, “We toured and recorded constantly for about three years, making the ‘Illegal, Immoral and Fattening’ and ‘Moving Targets’ records. Flo and Eddie shows were known for alot of great hit songs from their career as ‘The Turtles’, cool stuff from the Flo & Eddie albums, some stuff from the Zappa years, and their usually profane and hysterical tirades about the excesses of pop stars and the music business in general. That’s how I first met Alice, onstage with Keith Moon at the Troubadour in LA singing ‘Happy Together’ (Turtles Hit) and ‘Wooly Bully’. We went out in ’75 with Jefferson Starship, whose ‘Red Octopus’ album went to #1 five different times, and in ’76 we were out with the Doobie Brothers, whose ‘Takin’ It to The Streets’ was also #1. In between we did a tour with Steven Stills, and gigs with Fleetwood Mac, among others. These tours, and the albums with Flo & Eddie, still stick in my memory.”ќ

In 1980, Erik began working with the legendary Alice Cooper after a short stint with drummer Carl Palmer of Emerson, Lake & Palmer. Erik Scott, first hired as bass player on the ‘Flush The Fashion’ tour, later became a co-writer on ‘Special Forces’ and co-producer as well on ‘Zipper Catches Skin’, touring extensively behind the ‘Special Forces’ album.
After Alice, Erik spent some years as a session player in LA, with artists as diverse as Kim Carnes, Peter McIan, Franne Golde, Tonio K, and others. He also found time to co-write and play on the title song from Pops Staples’ ‘Father Father’ album, which won the Grammy as Best Contemporary Blues album in 1994. He also played on the title song from Mavis Staples’ album ‘Have A Little Faith”, which was recognized by the WC Foundation in the Gospel-Blues category for the year 2004.

In 1989, Erik formed the rock band Signal and released the album ‘Loud and Clear’ on EMI Records. The album was largely lost in a regime change at EMI USA, but gathered acclaim as an AOR melodic rock hit internationally…a bbit of a classic actually. Three commemorative packages were released overseas: Japan, France (Axe-Killer Records), and South Korea. ‘Loud and Clear’ made many 1989 year end Top Ten and Top Twenty charts for AOR and melodic rock.
In the early 90’s Scott became an original member of the band Sonia Dada. The group featured eight members: three African-American soul singers and five European-American players with backgrounds ranging from rock, folk, jam, psychedelic, jazz and R&B, all of which brewed up quite a genre-busting stew. Erik spent 15 years, and recorded 6 albums with the ensemble, “where a diversity and collision of styles awakened all kinds of possibilities in me, probably helping to inspire the unconventionality of my solo work”ќ.
Although Erik is originally known for his work in the rock field, he has recently pursued a path in ‘world’ music. In 2009, he released the critically acclaimed solo album ‘Other Planets’. John Diliberto, producer/host of the radio show ‘Echoes’, is quoted: “To say that his solo debut ‘Other Planets’ is a bass guitar album is to miss what a powerful, cinematic release he’s created. It’s an album that is more Pink Floyd than Jaco Pastorius.”ќ

And now, Erik has taken his enchanting and mystical music a step further with the release of ‘And The Earth Bleeds’. He explains, “Again, no plan… I premeditated nothing. The melodic nature of it, any chilled out nature of much of it, came mostly from the fact that the music was birthed in my studio with just me. Rock music generally happens when you have more than one person…a gang…a rock gang. These solo projects come more from a melodic and chilled-out rhythmic place, and a desire to experiment with the potential of the electric bass as a major melodic voice, in combination with violin, steel guitar, and other less-expected partners.”ќ
In closing Erik has this to impart to his fans and listeners, “I guess I hope that listeners appreciate the soulfulness, nuanced performances, and spacey honesty that probably leaks all over the stuff.”ќ

A resounding success, ‘Paradise Theater’ was their greatest commercial triumph and their only #1 album. AOR HEAVEN ANNOUNCE DEAD END HEROES AND ACACIA AVENUE FOR JUNE:
AOR Heaven have announced their 27 releases from Dead End Heroes and Acacia Avenue. Details as follows:

Dead End Heroes – Roadkill / Some bands are formed together through newspaper ads, others are the net result of a prolonged booze session at the local pub, yet the Dead End Heroes were formed by accident. A good accident! Whilst the initial discussions began around a solo album of Swiss drummer Daniel Voegeli (Me & The Rest), the project grew arms and legs and developed into an immense passion – a completely fully operational band that excelled at having fun sharing their common love of Hard Rock. After Voegeli had assembled his collection of instrumental songs he contacted exceptional Guitarist and Producer Rolf Munkes (Empire, Tony Martin, Majesty) to oversee the disc’s production. However, Munkes was so impressed by Voegeli’s drumming and initial song ideas that he encouraged him to develop a fully functioning band around the tunes and work towards completing an album. The first port of call was German vocalist and session musician Carsten Lizard Schulz (Evidence One, Domain, Lavalle) who took Voegeli’s instrumentals under his wing and gave them new life. Through his engaging lyrics and ear candy hooks they developed into real songs with Schulz’ trademark stamp alongside Voegeli’s bedrock base.
On Schulz’s recommendation, the next member to join the fold was Scottish bassist Paul Logue (Eden’s Curse, Doogie White, David Readman, Lavalle), who had worked with him on several productions. Logue at first was hesitant to belong to any group out with his main band but succumbed after completing the recording sessions at his studio in Scotland, such was the strength of the material. Last but by no means least, to add the missing Classic Rock ingredient to the recipe was Schulz’ long-time friend and world-class Hammond Organist Holger Seeger (Midnite Club, Iain Ashley Hersey). His Hammond gave the songs the final flavour they were missing whilst a classy seventies touch and vibe.
All five members were without doubt absolutely certain that this had become more than just a studio project and the Dead End Heroes were born. Sitting musically somewhere between late seventies and early eighties hard rock with a hint of Deep Purple, a pinch of Krokus and an extra serving of classic Michael Schenker, their addictive cocktail is simply good time old-fashioned Hard Rock that packs a punch. Sometimes … it just works!

Line-up: Carsten Lizard Schulz – vocals, Rolf Munkes – guitars, Daniel Voegeli – drums, Paul Logue – bass, Holger Seeger – keyboards.
Track list: 01. Roadkill, 02. Dead End Heroes, 03. Cry For The Moon, 04. Feed The Flames, 05. The Wind Howls Fire, 06. Stormfront, 07. Hands Off The Wheel, 08. And The Loser Is, 09. Technicolor Love, 10. The Fire’s Worth The Loneliness, 11. Gambler’s Crusade.

Acacia Avenue – Cold / The idea for Acacia Avenue began back in 2008. Founding member, Torben Enevoldsen (Fate, Fatal Force, Section A), spent most of that year writing new material. Some of this new material came to be very melodic hard rock/AOR, and the idea of doing a full album in this style quickly emerged. In order to spice things up however, Enevoldsen decided to ask a few good friends of his to participate, both as singers, but also as co-writers. The debut album featured Tony Mills (Ex-TNT, Shy), Geir Rцnning (Radioactive),Torben Lysholm (Pangea, Mysterell) and Lars Sдfsund (Work Of Art) on vocals. Torben did the bass, keyboards and guitars, as well as both lead and backing vocals on a few songs himself, and Thomas Heintzelmann (Decoy) did the drums. The self-entitled debut album was released on Lion Music in January 2010.
Enevoldsen continued doing various projects, but at the end of 2010, Torben was asked to join the Danish hard rock band Fate. He agreed and joined the band in January 2011. Although busy with Fate, Enevoldsen never stopped working on new material of his own. So the idea of doing another Acacia Avenue album was never far away. Torben grew up listening to bands like Boston, Journey, Toto and Survivor, so he thoroughly enjoyed writing in this very melodic and somewhat softer style.
New songs were written and the first singer to get involved was Rob Moratti (Ex-Saga, Final Frontier). Torben and Rob had met each other on MySpace, years before Rob joined Saga, and had discussed the possibility of working together. Acacia Avenue turned out to be the perfect vehicle to pursue this desire. Apart from Rob, the new album features vocal performances by Steve Newman (Newman), Torben Lysholm (Pangea, Mysterell), Albin Ljungqvist, Mikael Roupй (Bamboo Brothers), Peter Sundell (Grand Illusion, Decoy) and Nicklas Sonne (Defecto).
Once again, Torben was in charge for all the bass, keyboards and guitars, as well as singing background vocals on a few songs. New drummer, Dennis Hansen (Fatal Force) did the drums, and like last time, the majority of the recordings took place at Funny Farm Studios in Denmark, which is Torben’s own studio. The new album, entitled “Cold”, was mixed and mastered at Funny Farm Studios by Torben Enevoldsen. Enevoldsen also produced the album.

Line-up: Rob Moratti – Vocals, Steve Newman – Vocals, Albin Ljungqvist – Vocals, Mikael Roupй – Vocals, Torben Lysholm – Vocals, Peter Sundell – Vocals, Nicklas Sonne – Vocals, Torben Enevoldsen – Guitars, bass, keyboards., vocals, Lars Frandsen-Melau – piano on ”Cold”, Dennis Hansen – Drums.
Track list: 01 Time (Enevoldsen/Newman) , 02 Love Will Survive (Enevoldsen/Moratti), 03 It’s Over (Enevoldsen/Ljungqvist), 04 Out Of The Business, (Waybill/Anderson/Cotten/Prince/ Steen/Welnick/Spoon), 05 Signs Of Love (Enevoldsen/Moratti), 06 Cold (Enevoldsen/Walsh), 07 Angelina – (Enevoldsen/Newman), 08 You And I (Enevoldsen/Roupй), 09 Calling Out (Enevoldsen/Sonne), 10 How Many Nights (Enevoldsen/Lysholm), 11 Freedom From Doubt (Enevoldsen).

Sony Music Sued Over ‘Eye Of The Tiger’ Song Royalties

The latest swing came in Illinois federal court Friday from Frank Sullivan and James Peterik, founding members of the musical group Survivor. The band is best known for its ’80s single Eye of the Tiger, which rocketed up the charts after being featured in Rocky III.
Sullivan and Peterik now allege that Sony Music has stiffed them on royalties. Specifically, the plaintiffs say their 1978 recording agreement means they should be taking an even 50/50 split with respect to licensed masters. But Sony is alleged to be treating downloads off of platforms like iTunes and Amazon as “sales of records” instead of licenses. Typically, the royalty share on sales is closer to 15 percent.
That’s not all. The Survivor members also say they haven’t gotten any income derived from settlements with Napster, Grokster, Kazaa and others, and that Sony has improperly charged and deducted from royalties certain promotion and marketing costs.
The breach-of-contract complaint filed by Sullivan and Peterik is fairly typical except for an allegation involving their discussions with the defendant. “Indeed, a Sony representative threatened that in the event Survivor persisted in its objection, Sony would exercise what it termed ‘the nuclear option’ — removal of the Survivor Masters from the songs licensed to iTunes for download by consumers, thereby wiping out that revenue stream altogether,” says the lawsuit. “By threatening ‘the nuclear option,’ Sony has conceded that its transaction with iTunes is a license subject to termination, and not a sale, of the Survivor Masters to iTunes. If it was a sale, Sony would have no right to demand return of the songs.
Besides compensatory damages, the plaintiffs want an injunction that would prevent Sony Music from pulling music from digital outlets. A representative for Sony Music didn’t immediately respond to a request for comment.
