Rock Wolves (Voss/Rarebell/Hinz) release self titled debut album in October

Rock-Wolves
Rock Wolves, the cracking new band founded by Herman Rarebell, Michael Voss and Stephan ‘Gudze’ Hinz, three of the most renowned and accomplished German rock musicians to have emerged in the last 40 years, have signed to Steamhammer / SPV to release their hard driving, melody drenched, utterly uplifting hook – laden self-titled debut album on October 28th.

‘Rock Wolves’, which will be available as an embossed DigiPak CD (with poster), 180 gram dirty white vinyl LP (with CD in a paper sleeve) and download, contains eleven excellently executed, joyous, timeless classic rock compositions.

The idea to start Rock Wolves was conceived in Autumn 2015, during a tour by Michael Schenker’s current band, Temple Of Rock, which Rarebell and Voss have been members of for the last five years. As drummer and songwriter in Scorpions, Herman Rarebell was significantly involved in eight of their studio albums between 1977 and 1996, including all-time classics such as ‘Lovedrive’, ‘Blackout’ and ‘Love At First Sting’. Guitarist / vocalist Michael Voss first caused a stir in the 1980’s with groups such as Mad Max and Casanove, and his role in Temple Of Rock is not only that of a frontman, but also that of a songwriter and producer.

When Schenker announced that he wanted to cut down on concerts in the coming months, an opportunity opened for Rarebell and Voss to start a new band together. They soon found the perfect bassist in Stephan “Gudze” Hinz, a founder member of H-Blockx and hence a representative of the 1990s rock generation. So here we have three illustrious musicians from three decades, and three artistic careers with similar but by no means congruent influences.

The band’s almost boundless musical enthusiasm is reflected throughout this diverse, stunning debut – patently the work of supremely capable and inspired, virtuoso musicians gelling instinctively. Never is this more evident than on the exuberant single ‘Rock For The Nations’, a powerful track with a painful yet upbeat message; “Instead of delivering tanks and arms all over the world, Germany should concentrate on exporting good rock music,” explains Rarebell. Similarly, the shuffle-groove driven ‘Surrounded By Fools’ warns against unscrupulous politicians; “Let’s not be dazzled by their colourful election campaigns. Those politicians can easily end up bringing war to their countries” states Herman.

Less controversial tracks include thoroughbred rocker ‘I Need Your Love’, glorious, strikingly contemporary ballad ‘Nothing’s Gonna Bring Me Down’, and ‘What About Love’, a cover of Jim Vallance’s song which Heart topped the US Billboard charts with for 28 weeks in 1985. “Our new version has been given the blessing by Jim Vallance himself. His only comment was: ‘Your version is even better than my original, so go for it’,” remembers Rarebell.

The bar may be pretty high for an act with such a talented line-up, but Rock Wolves have, exceeding all expectations, way more than stepped up to the plate with their astonishingly accomplished debut.

Daze Of Dawn Release “Falling In Love” Video

Daze Of Dawn have released a music video for the single “Falling In Love”, from their 2013 album ‘Sofa King Cool’.

Grand prize winners of the 2012 Sona La Dipu Pop-Rock contest, the Valencia-based ‘Canadian’, alternative, retro-rock band have been stunning audiences for over a decade with their legendary live shows and breath of originality. The band is now a true rock power trio (with a bad-ass keyboard player on the side). Formed on Canadian front-man Klyde’s arrival in Spain in 2001 after some years living and performing in Japan, Daze Of Dawn have toured throughout Spain and Europe and continue to take over the world by blowing away one audience at a time.

Daze Of Dawn’s lively arrangements, subtle details and continued growth on their four previous releases — ‘Shinjuku In June’ (2001), ‘Puppet Heads’ (2003), ‘Drug Testing’ (2006) and ‘Yeti Nation’ (2008) — have won the band continuous accolades from the media and critics alike, including spots in major international festivals (Festimad, Vinarock) and national Spanish radio (RNE3) and television (TVE Los conciertos de Radio 3).

Most recently Daze Of Dawn were finalists in MTV Winter Valencia 2011 and grand prize winners of Sona La Dipu 2012, a major Spanish rock contest. The grand prize was a full-length album recording and a festival tour for 2013. The new album ‘Sofa King Cool’, recorded by Pau Chafer at RC Estudios and mixed/mastered by Manu Tomas, contains 14 masterfully written and produced songs of long-awaited new music by this excellent original band.

John Galt Debuts “Undeniable” Video

Ukrainian sleaze rockers John Galt have released a music video for the song “Undeniable”, which is featured on their 2013 debut album ‘Served Hot’.

John Galt is an alcohol-driven, four-piece band from Kharkiv, Ukraine, formed in the summer of 2010 that plays hard rock heavily influenced by modern Swedish glam/sleaze and a little bit of punk.

Taking their name from a famous book, Ayn Rand’s ‘Atlas Shrugged’, John Galt debuted in October 2011 with the three track EP ‘First Run’, which gained the favor of both critics and fans, and attracted the interest of Italian rock label Street Symphonies Records who released ‘Served Hot’.

The band are offering a free download of their debut EP at johngaltrocks.com, which also contains links to buy their 2013 full-length.

Bang Tango Part Ways With Guitarist Scott LaFlamme

Bang Tango and guitarist Scott LaFlamme have separated after a five year partnership.

“The members of Bang Tango enjoyed their five year run with Scott and wish him the best of luck and success in the future,” said the band. “After a much needed break Bang Tango is reenergized and excited about returning to the stage. Big news to follow in the coming months with the announcement of a new guitar player and touring plans. See you all on board the Monsters of Rock Cruise in April 2015.”

LaFlamme appeared on Bang Tango’s 2011 release ‘Pistol Whipped In The Bible Belt’. Frontman Joe LeSte and Bang Tango were looking for a studio to record the follow-up to ‘Pistol Whipped In The Bible Belt’ back in 2012, but no word on when a new studio album will surface.

Meanwhile, ‘Attack Of Life: The Bang Tango Movie’ is finally nearing completion and is slated to be released this summer. “Its been a ridiculously long two and a half years working on this thing but I’m proud to say its just about finished and ready to show,” director Drew Fortier tells Sleaze Roxx. “With all the other band documentaries coming out, this one is gonna stick out like a sore thumb in all the best ways.”

‘Attack Of Life: The Bang Tango Movie’ features interviews with all original members — Joe LeSte, Mark Knight, Kyle Kyle, Tigg Ketler and Kyle Stevens — current members, and key players who performed with Bang Tango. The film also features appearances by Chip Z’Nuff, former Headbanger’s Ball host Riki Rachtman and producer Howard Benson.

Buckcherry Play On Despite Bomb Threats And Religious Nuts

Los Angeles based rockers Buckcherry took the stage Tuesday night at Dixie Roadhouse in Cape Coral despite the best efforts of local religious group the Holy Family.

In a letter posted on the band’s bus door, as well as on the venue’s door, a spokesperson for the Holy Family in Cape Coral demanded that the show be canceled. “I do apologize for the last minute notice,” the letter began, “however I’m afraid the concert is going to definitely have to be canceled.”

The author continued, citing Buckcherry’s “totally disgusting” lyrics and their “contrived ignorant babble and filth” as the reasons that the show must not go on. In a twist few saw coming, the letter also made a note of pointing out that aside from the explicit lyrics, the “Holy Family very much enjoys Buckcherry’s music.”

In addition to the letter, Dixie Roadhouse also confirmed two separate bomb scares. The details of the scares are not readily available, nor is it confirmed that the Holy Family is responsible, but the letter’s closing paragraph states that “anyone who says this is a hoax is a lying idiot.”

Despite the trouble, Buckcherry persevered, and took the stage. Venue security “stepped it up and the show went off without a hitch,” according to the band’s manager.

“We came here to entertain a large group of people that wanted to have a good time,” said guitarist Keith Nelson, “and that’s exactly what we did.” Lead singer Josh Todd added, “Buckcherry has always been about having a good time and we express ourselves the way we want to because we are free. They don’t like our lyrics and hide behind religion as an excuse to attack us as a group or treat other people poorly. Well they can just fuck right off.”

The band was met with support at the show — they played to a sellout crowd despite the commotion — and on their Facebook, where thousands of fans supported the band when they posted a copy of the letter. Buckcherry expects to continue the rest of their current tour without any additional complications.

Members of the Holy Family will likely be disheartened to learn that their efforts to censor the band’s explicit language have gone in vain. Buckcherry will release their new EP FUCK in August.

This isn’t the first time Hornet have used PledgeMusic, as the band ran a successful campaign last year and released their debut album ‘Skies Are Falling’.

Frontman Joe Thompson explains, “We have a close relationship with our fans and like the fact that they can be involved in the making of the record with us and not just listen to it. 3D In Your Face Get “In Your Face” In New Music Video

3D In Your Face have released the second single and new video for the track “In Your Face” off of their latest album ‘Midnight Devils’.

‘Midnight Devils’ was released in December of last year and can be purchased at www.3dinyourface.com. Sleaze Roxx said the album was “a genuine nostalgic trip down memory lane. From the guitar sound to the drums, to the bass, vocals, and even the back-up vocals, this band delivers. There is no reason why they couldn’t have been on a bill back in the ’80s along with Ratt, L.A. Guns, and Dokken — in fact, the guitar sound is reminiscent of George Lynch’s on the Back For The Attack album.”

3D In Your Face started as an idea that turned into thirteen years of constant touring, writing, and recording. Starting back in 1999 in Omaha, Nebraska, 3D In Your face has carved out a name for themselves all across the midwest United States as an over the top rock ‘n’ roll spectacle that brings you back to the glory days of ’80s hair metal.

Having released three independent albums, 3D In Your Face — Alan “Hot Rod” King (vocals), Chris “Sniper” Hineline (guitar), Sam “Spade” Morris (bass), and Jeremy “Playboy” Deans (drums) — set out to capture the excitement and electricity of their live shows on the upcoming ‘Midnight Devils’, an album that features 12 songs of pure and honest rock ‘n’ roll with that ’80s charm and swagger.

New American Dog Album Features Cover Art By Frank Frazetta

New American Dog Album Features Cover Art By Frank FrazettaThe artwork for American Dog’s upcoming seventh studio album ‘Neanderthal’ will be a painting by the late, great fantasy and science fiction artist, Frank Frazetta. The painting, also called Neanderthal, was created in 1967 and first appeared that summer on the cover of the infamous horror-comic magazine, Creepy — Issue #15.

Other notable recording artists who have used Frazetta’s paintings as cover art for their albums include Herman’s Hermits, Molly Hatchet, Nazareth, Yngwie Malmsteen, and Wolfmother.

Neanderthal, the follow-up to 2012’s ‘Poison Smile’, is tentatively scheduled for release in mid to late June.

The band recently released a now sold-out limited edition four song single containing the songs “Who’s She Killing” and “We Ain’t Not Gonna Get Drunk Tonight”. “The CD (single) contains three different versions of the single “Who’s She Killing Now” (different edits for radio play) with a B-Side of “We Ain’t Gonna Not Get Drunk Tonight” and it comes with a bottle opener so you can play along at home,” said American Dog frontman Michael Hannon.

American Dog was formed in 1999 in Columbus, Ohio, and features former Salty Dog and Dangerous Toys bassist Michael Hannon on vocals and electric bass, Steve Theado on guitars, Michael Harris on drums and newest member Vinnie Salvatore (guitars, formerly of The Godz).

The band’s sound is a very coarse high energy hard rock with a blues base which is often compared to ’70s era Ted Nugent with the power and grit of Motorhead. Although the band appeals to a wide demographic, American Dog is especially popular with the biker set. They’ve played some of the biggest biker events in the world, including Sturgis and many Easyrider events in the States, the Hamburg Harley Days Event in Germany, and the Rock and Blues Custom Show in England. They are also popular in the ‘rust-belt’ where they play to enthusiastic crowds in such cities as Columbus, Cleveland, Pittsburgh, Milwaukee, Chicago, Indianapolis, and Louisville. They have shared the stage with Ted Nugent, David Allan Coe, UFO, Rose Tattoo, Billy Idol, Nazareth, Ratt, Ace Frehley, .38 Special and Molly Hatchet.

American Dog have numerous European tours under their belts and have enjoyed tremendous success in Germany, France, Holland, England, Switzerland, Spain and Belgium. With over 35,000 CDs sold and countless gigs played the American Dog attack shows no signs of slowing.

Dynamite Unleash “It’s A Long Way Home” Video

Dynamite have released a video for the song “It’s A Long Way Home”, from their upcoming album ‘Blackout Station’ — due for release of May 24th through High Roller Records.

Regarding the new album, the follow-up to their 2013 debut ‘Lock N Load’, Dynamite frontman Mattis Karlsson told Sleaze Roxx, “We are very happy with the first album but this one is so much better, both in the sound of the songs and we improved very much as writers. Me and Sebastian (Hed-Plikas, guitarist) write all the songs, riffs and melodies so we have been much better at writing songs over the year — much better songs.”

Following the release of the new album ‘Blackout Station’, Dynamite will open this year’s Muskelrock on May 28th. This will be a combined release party and warm-up party for Muskelrock, the new album and merchandise will be on sale during the evening.

“We come from a small town where there’s not a lot to do, so we have had a lot of time to play rock ‘n’ roll and write songs, I guess…,” says guitarist Sebastian Hed-Plikas. “The opportunities you have here to learn an instrument make it easier of course.”

For a change, none of the current Dynamite members has a side project going on. Karlsson (vocals, guitar), Hed-Plikas (guitar), Adam Butler (bass) and Jonas Hagstrom (drums) originally formed in 2012, recording their debut album a year later. Sebastian has a good story to tell about the early days of his band, “We have been aired on Swedish national radio and made headlines in the biggest newspapers in Sweden with the music video for the song ‘Lock ‘N’ Load’ and the story behind the video when we got chased by the police for staging a bank robbery. When we released our debut album we were, and still are, satisfied with that album. Since than our songwriting has improved and we are a better band today than we were a year ago. And the opportunity to record in a really good studio with a great producer was a great experience.”

For ‘Blackout Station’ Dynamite signed a contract with High Roller Records. “We just thought that the name Dynamite explained what we are in a perfect way — powerful, explosive rock ‘n’ roll from Sweden,” explains Sebastian about the name of the band.

Without revealing a secret it’s fair to say that the mighty AC/DC must be one of the main influences for songs like “Talk Is Cheap”, the sleazy “Damn You Women”, or the grimy “Grind For A Dime”. “Hail Rock ‘N’ Roll” sums it up best. “We all love AC/DC and they have had a big impact on us,” reveals Sebastian. “They have a certain feeling and groove that I love and carry with me when I write songs. And it’s that feeling we’re after, rather than trying to re-create their sound and songs. I have also seen Airbourne and ’77 a couple of times in Sweden and they are both great bands as well.”

So are Dynamite a prototypical Swedish rock/metal band at all? Is it hard for them to get into the AC/DC groove? “You just have to mix the Death Metal groove with ABBA and then you’ve got it,” laughs Sebastian.
