YES SET TO RELEASE NEW STUDIO ALBUM ‘HEAVEN & EARTH’ JULY 22 ON FRONTIERS RECORDS:
Among the world’s most influential, ground-breaking, and respected progressive rock bands, Grammy Award winning, Yes are proud to announce they will release their new studio album, Heaven & Earth, July 22 on Frontiers Records. Having sold nearly 40 million albums in a career that has so far spanned more than four decades, Heaven & Earth sees Yes continuing with its tradition of symphonic progressive rock that remains timelessly fresh and innovative.

Heaven & Earth contains eight new tracks, each of which boasts the unique musicianship and craftsmanship that have come to be known as “the Yes sound.” Yes’ distinctive layered music, swirling arrangements, brilliant vocals and harmonies are all in abundance. Heaven & Earth is an album sure to please both long-time and new Yes fans. For Heaven & Earth, Yes teamed up with legendary Grammy Award winner, Roy Thomas Baker (Queen, The Cars, Guns N’ Roses, Foreigner, Smashing Pumpkins, Alice Cooper, etc.), who handled the production and Billy Sherwood (Toto, Paul Rodgers, Air Supply, etc.) who mixed the album. Also onboard is long-time Yes artist, the world-renowned Roger Dean, who again brings his masterful artistic creativity to the album’s cover art and packaging.

Tracklisting for Heaven & Earth: 1. Believe Again 2. The Game 3. Step Beyond 4. To Ascend 5. In A World Of Our Own 6. Light Of The Ages 7. It Was All We Knew 8. Subway Walls.

To coincide with the release of Heaven & Earth, the multi-platinum progressive rock band–bassist Chris Squire, guitarist Steve Howe, drummer Alan White, keyboardist GEOFF DOWNES and singer Jon Davison–announced in March they’ll launch their 35-date summer tour featuring Yes performing, in their entirety, 1971’s groundbreaking album Fragile for the first-time ever and a repeat performance from last year’s tour of 1972’s Close To The Edge, followed by an encore of the band’s greatest hits.

The album Fragile is considered to be their U.S. breakthrough album peaking at #4 on the Billboard Album charts in the U.S. The RIAA-certified double platinum album has sold over two million copies and features Yes’ hit single “Roundabout” and other classics like “Long Distance Runaround” and “Heart of the Sunrise.” It also marks the band’s first collaboration with artist Roger Dean on cover art, who has designed many of the band’s album covers and logos. The band’s album Close To The Edge–widely regarded as one of the greatest progressive rock albums ever recorded–was on the U.S. charts for 32 weeks, peaking at #3. A Rolling Stone review noted, “Yes’ colors are subtle, almost imperceptible tints, but the main strokes are bold and thick, applied with sureness and natural instinct.” Inspired by Siddhartha and their “state of mind” at the time, the Gold-certified album featuring epic suites such as “Close To The Edge” and “You And I” was named one of the “100 Greatest Guitar Albums of All Time” by Guitar World (2006). R.I.P. DOC NEESON – THE ANGELS:
After an 18 month battle with cancer, Australian rock legend Doc Neeson, vocalist for The Angels (known as Angel City in North America) has passed away earlier this morning local time. The official statement reads:

“It is with deep sadness and regret that the family of Angels singer/songwriter Bernard ‘Doc’ Neeson – loving father, family member and friend to so many – announce he has passed away in his sleep at 7.15am, today, 4th June 2014. He has battled with a brain tumour for the last 17 months and sadly lost his fight this morning. He will be deeply missed by his family and partner Annie Souter who would all like to thank everyone for their support through this dark time. “We love you Dad. You couldn’t have made any of your sons more proud of you if you tried. May your beautiful soul rest in peace sweet angel, fly high.” Dzintra, Daniel, Aidan and Kieran.
“Good Night, Sweet Prince, and flights of angels sing thee to thy rest.” With love forever, Annie – borrowed from William Shakespeare – Hamlet.

From: News.com.au – “Doc Neeson, the lead singer of Australian rockers The Angels, has died of brain cancer. He was 67. The singer behind hits such as Am I Ever Gonna See Your Face Again? was diagnosed with a brain tumour in January 2013. Neeson underwent surgery to remove the tumour but he confirmed it had returned in April this year, confirming it might be “life threatening”. “The news is grim, but some people can get through this, and that’s the way I try to think about things,” he told the ABC’s Australian Story. “So I’m looking forward optimistically to the future.”
Neeson said his initial reaction to the tumour had been: “shock of course”. “When somebody puts a use by date on me, but I still hung on to a shred of hope that I’d get back on the stage at some point.”
In March this year he released his first single in seven years, Walking in the Rain, after performing the song to critical acclaim on the SBS TV show Rockwiz. Neeson was born in Belfast and moved with his family to Adelaide when he was 13. The Angels started life in Adelaide as The Moonshine Jug and String Band in the early 1970s. They went on to become the Keystone Angels.
In 1975, they became simply The Angels and a year later they released their breakthrough single Am I Ever Gonna See Your Face Again. Their other hits included Take a Long Line, Marseilles, Shadow Boxer, No Secrets, and a cover version of the Eric Burdon hit We Gotta Get Out Of This Place. Neeson’s final gig with the bad was in New Year’s Eve in 1999.

6 Ways Doc Neeson Helped Change The Face Of Australian Music

Jon Stevens (Dead daisies/Noiseworks): “It’s a sad day for Australian rock n roll. Doc Neeson was one of the greatest front men of Aussie rock.. he wrote and performed so many timeless classics with The Angels that will never be forgotten. Thank you Doc.”

Craig Csongrady (BB Steal): “R.I.P Doc Neeson – The Voice of The Angels It’s been a great honour for all in BB Steal to have shared the stage with you over the many years. You were a true Gentleman a True Star and a Giant of the Stage. You will be very sadly missed, but never forgotten.”

JAMES KOTTACK ISSUES STATEMENT ON ARREST:
Statement from James Kottak: “After years of drinking alcohol, on April 3rd, 2014 my addiction finally caught up with me during a 5-hour flight from Ekaterinburg, Russia to Bahrain via Dubai, during which I consumed 5 or 6 glasses of wine. While at the airport in Dubai I approached an airline representative to check on status of my flight. The representative informed me that I was in the wrong place and I replied “WTF?!.” The representative then called the police and reported that I was intoxicated (which I was) and that I made a lewd jester.
One of the police officers recognised me as drummer of “The Scorpions”. When the police asked me to show my ID., I showed them the “Rock & ROLL FOREVER” tattoo on my back, instead of my actual ID. which was in my back pack my friend was carrying for me. Apparently, the police did not find this funny and I was charged with “Drinking Without a License”, for which I pleaded guilty and received a one-month sentence and a 2,000 Dirham (300 USD) fine. I was also charged with insulting Islam/Muslims by making a lewd jester for which I pleaded not guilty and did not actually do.
Upon returning to the United States on May 6th, I immediately reached out to Bob Forrest, an addiction specialist known for his work with musicians and “Celebrity Rehab”. I have been meeting with Bob on a regular basis. He has guided me to the MusiCares Organization, which provides musicians with help for mental health and addiction issues.
I am determined to come to grips with my alcoholism and am doing everything on a daily basis to beat this relentless disease. This entire incident caused me to realize that it is time to stop drinking once and for all so that I can become the father, musician, and friend that I know I can be.
I am glad to put this unfortunate incident behind me and move onward and upward with my life. I would like to send out a HUGE thank-you to my family, friends and fans around the world for their incredible loving support…you kick ass! I would also like to send a sincere apology from the bottom of my heart to everyone I have affected and look forward to seeing you all!!
With love, James Kottak – Tomorrow is a brand new day!”

Accept Change The Release Date Of ‘Blind Rage’

Accept Change The Release Date Of 'Blind Rage'In the history of heavy metal not many bands can claim to be able to celebrate their breakthrough twice. Accept managed this four years ago with their reunion record ‘Blood Of The Nations’ — returning with a vengeance! Now Accept open the next chapter in their book of heavy metal, with the upcoming studio record ‘Blind Rage’ — which will be out on August 15th.

‘Blind Rage’, just like its two predecessors with new vocalist Mark Tornillo, has been produced, mixed and mastered by Andy Sneap. “The cover artwork done by Daniel Goldsworthy shows the beast coming over us — in blind rage — all over the planet. Wherever we go, whenever you turn on the TV, there is blind rage in the works — either natural catastrophes or man-made madness,” continued Hoffmann.

There will also be a limited edition digipak version of ‘Blind Rage’ that includes either a bonus DVD or BluRay disc and features a complete Accept live show recorded in Chile 2013 during the ‘Stalingrad’ tour. Upfront will be the single release of the opening track “Stampede”, which will be out on July 11th digitally and on a limited vinyl edition. The band also did a video clip for “Stampede”, which will be ready by the end of June.

Hardly any other band has influenced the heavy metal genre as much as German legends Accept. Classics albums such as ‘Restless And Wild’ (1982), ‘Balls To The Wall’ (1983) and ‘Metal Heart’ (1985), have inspired generations of new bands, and this has continued since their reunion in 2009. Both ‘Blood Of The Nations’ (2010) and ‘Stalingrad’ (2012) entered the charts globally and were voted among the best albums of their respective years by Sleaze Roxx readers, and underline the premiere league status Accept still have today.

‘Blind Rage’ track listing:
01. Stampede
02. Dying Breed
03. Dark Side Of My Heart
04. Fall Of The Empire
05. Trail Of Tears
06. Wanna Be Free
07. 200 Years

10. The Curse
11. Final Journey

Judas Priest Announce Lead-Off Single From Upcoming Album

Judas Priest have set “March Of The Damned” as the lead-off single from their forthcoming studio album ‘Redeemer Of Souls’.

For the past few weeks, metalheads worldwide have undoubtedly been enjoying the “sneak peak” title track from Judas Priest’s forthcoming ‘Redeemer Of Souls’ album. And on Monday, May 19th, the official lead-off single from the album, “March Of The Damned,” will be released to rock and metal radio, and will be available for purchase via all digital sales providers. Additionally, on the same day, preorders for the full album will be made available through iTunes.

As the band themselves said about “March Of The Damned”, “Our passion for heavy metal has never diminished, and this track sounds off with real conviction!”

‘Redeemer Of Souls’ will be made available from Epic Records on Tuesday, July 15th as both a standard version and a deluxe edition with five bonus tracks. When asked what fans can expect from Judas Priest’s 17th album overall, guitarist Glenn Tipton replied, “Sometimes in the past we may have come under fire for being too adventurous musically — so we have listened!! From start to finish ‘Redeemer Of Souls’ is 13 songs of pure classic Priest metal!!”

Comprised of Rob Halford (vocals), Glenn Tipton (guitar), Richie Faulkner (guitar), Ian Hill (bass), and Scott Travis (drums), Judas Priest is responsible for some of heavy metal’s all-time classic songs (“Living After Midnight”, “Breaking The Law”, “You’ve Got Another Thing Coming”, etc.) and albums (‘British Steel’, ‘Screaming For Vengeance’, ‘Painkiller’, etc.)

And soon, fans will discover that Judas Priest has assembled another metal classic, with the “March Of The Damned” single and ‘Redeemer Of Souls’ full-length.

Ace Frehley Enlists KISS ‘Destroyer’ Artist For Solo Album Artwork

Ace Frehley Enlists KISS 'Destroyer' Artist For Solo Album ArtworkAce Frehley has tapped long time friend and artist Ken Kelly to create the album cover for his upcoming solo album ‘Space Invader’, due out July 8th through E1 Music.

Kelly, who created the iconic cover art for two of KISS’s best selling LPS, ‘Destroyer’ (1976) and ‘Love Gun’ (1977), says, “It was very exciting when I was approached with the idea of doing an album cover for Ace. I had spoken to Ace on a few occasions about the possibility, so I was delighted when it actually happened.”

Ace Frehley himself comments, “I’ve been talking with Ken Kelly since 2007 about painting a CD cover for me and it has finally happened! I couldn’t be more excited about the new Space Invader cover and the music behind it is also going to rock your world!”

With nearly 35 years between projects, KISS fans will surely be excited about this long-time duo working together again. Kelly concludes, “I am very pleased with the results and proud to play a part of Ace’s continuing successful career!”

‘Space Invader’ will contain at least nine original songs and a cover of the Steve Miller Band’s “The Joker.” Frehley has said that his fans can expect a sound similar to his 1978 solo album, which contained the hit “New York Groove.” Frehley’s previous solo album, ‘Anomaly’, was released in 2009. The record reached #27 on the Billboard charts and was named one of the best albums that year by Sleaze Roxx readers.

“I’m really excited about this record, because everybody that’s heard the tracks just says they think some of the tracks are even better than Anomaly, and even showing another side of me,” Frehley told Rolling Stone earlier this year. “There’s two songs I’m going to re-track, but I’m doing mostly overdubs. Most of the hard work is over.”

Frehley also said that the album would feature collaborations with his girlfriend Rachael Gordon and told Rolling Stone that an album of covers and remakes would follow ‘Space Invader’. “That one will be a real treat for the fans, too,” Frehley said. “I want to get some celebrity guests to play on it, some of the covers and stuff, get Slash, Mike McCready, my buddy from Pearl Jam. You know. The list is endless.” Then, with a laugh, he added, “I might even get Gene Simmons to play bass on a track.”

Motley Crue Hope To Have New Single Ready For Farewell Tour

Ace Frehley Enlists KISS 'Destroyer' Artist For Solo Album ArtworkMotley Crue is saying a well-publicized farewell to the road starting this summer, but it won’t be coming empty handed.

Tommy Lee tells Billboard that he’s “just finished the drums” for “All Bad Things Must End”, a new track the Crue hopes to have out by the time the farewell tour with Alice Cooper kicks off July 2nd in Grand Rapids, Michigan, and which he says will be attached to a new greatest hits album that will accompany the trek.

“We’re just mixing (the song) and getting it together,” Lee reports. “It’s pretty heavy, but it’s really melodic. It’s definitely about this time right now with the band and what the feeling is and kind of all that wrapped into a song. I hate to say it’s like a goodbye, but it definitely references our time here.”

Meanwhile, the quartet is getting its show together for the tour. “There’s a whole new production being built that’s pretty fucking insane,” Lee says. As for the setlist, he adds that the Crue is talking about two-hour sets “so we can play all the hits and then hopefully dig into some deep stuff, since this is the last chance to play them.”

The group is also digging into “The Dirt”, the long awaited film adaptation of its vivid 2001 band biography. Lee says he and bassist Nikki Sixx recently sat down with director Jeff Tremaine for a read-through of the script that he calls “probably the most fucking insanely surrealistic experience I’ve ever sat through — probably two hours and change of literally watching people act and play through this two-hour plus movie of 30 years of your life. I was just like, ‘What the fuck?! That’s insane! This movie is insane!’ Even just the way the movie starts, you’re like, ‘How the hell are we gonna rate this thing? Triple R?'”

Lee says casting is slated for late July, most likely with unknown actors playing the band members who will subsequently join the Crue on tour for a bit of boot camp. “I can just imagine some 25-year-old actor getting the part and being sent on the road to hang out and study us,” Lee says with a laugh. “Wow, what a trip! They’re gonna definitely come back a different animal.”

Lee, meanwhile, has tried on a different musical skin lately, playing drums for the next Smashing Pumpkins album. He’s recorded demos with Billy Corgan in Los Angeles and expects to be back in the studio during the next few weeks to record the finished songs. “I think he has probably the best record he’s ever written,” Lee says. “These are like epic, goose-bump songs. It sounds like the first couple of Smashing Pumpkins records. I was fucking blown away.”

Lee is also starting to chart his own post-Crue career. While several potential projects are on the runway, he says that “I have one thing in particular I’ve really got my heart set on. I can’t really talk about it too much, but I’ve been writing music for it, and I’ve got a hard drive full of some crazy shit that I’ve been working on that the music scene definitely needs right now. There’s nothing like it. It’s definitely some new music, and there’ll be a new band that’s gonna blow some minds.”
