Tracii Guns and Phil Lewis reunite LA Guns and release new album in 2017

Frontiers Music Srl is delighted to welcome the reunion of Tracii Guns And Phil Lewis as L.A. GUNS to the label for the release of a brand new album set for release in the summer of 2017.

After a nearly 15 year break, Philip Lewis and Tracii Guns are back together for another chapter in their partnership that began in 1986, four years after Tracii formed L.A. Guns in 1982.

Their writing partnership spawned classic L.A. GUNS songs such as “Sex Action”, “Never Enough”, “Electric Gypsy”, “The Ballad Of Jayne”, and countless more in an impressive catalog of fan favorites. The last time Lewis and Guns joined forces was back in 2000 with legendary producer Andy Johns for the making of what would become “Waking The Dead” – an album that went on to receive tremendous critical acclaim and proved that their musical partnership was every bit as strong as the early days with all-killer-no-filler songs including “Don’t Look At Me That Way”, “Hellraisers Ball”, and “The Ballad”.

“I think we owe it to our fans who have stuck with us during the many ups and downs of the band’s long and checkered career,” says Lewis. “Tracii and I have written the songs to the soundtrack of many people’s lives, and I think it’s definitely worth investigating to see if the magic is still there.”

As for Guns, he’s been compiling song ideas over the last year and promises this one will be one of the band’s heaviest records, simply stating, “It’s good to be home.”

The band has already confirmed a bunch of UK shows in early 2017 and two shows at the legendary Whisky A Go-Go in Los Angeles, CA with more surprises to be announced soon!

Seven – ‘Fight’ official music video

“Fight”, is taken from SEVEN’s new album Shattered, which is released today (September 23rd), by UK label Escape Music Ltd. “Fight” was co-written with well known songwriter Jeff Paris (Mr. Big, Vixen, Y&T, Paul Stanley).

The roots of SEVEN can be traced back to the late ’80s/early ’90s in South Africa, of all places. At the time, Keith McFarlane and the brothers Simon and John LeFevre were in a band called FACE TO FACE, while Mick Devine was drummer in another band, called UC27. After releasing several singles and one album in a period of 18 months, FACE TO FACE split and the brothers LeFevre returned to the U.K. After a few months, they decided to reform the band and Mick was asked to join them in the U.K. as their drummer. It wasn’t before long that the brothers discovered that Mick was actually a better singer than drummer, and so Mick became the band’s lead vocalist. A couple of years later, they were joined by Pat Davey on bass and Austin Lane on drums and the band name was changed to SEVEN.

The AOR scene in the late eighties was a thriving hive of activity. At the turn of the new decade, the likes of Mitch Malloy, Paul Laine, FIREHOUSE, TYKETTO and TALISMAN were all signed up and ready to make an impact on the genre. Everybody wanted an AOR band, and Polydor Records was no exception. Having been fairly successful in the U.K with the likes of MAGNUM and LITTLE ANGELS, the label had set their sights on SEVEN, which at the time was a relatively unknown act from Bournemouth.

SEVEN toured extensively supporting an eclectic variety of acts that included the likes of Jason Donovan, Richard Marx, THE MONKEES and BROTHER BEYOND. It’s a time period that Mick Devine is keen to reminisce about. “Even though they were out and out pop gigs, we loved the crowds and the noise,” he says. “We went from pubs to opening to 3000 screaming fans in Southampton. It is a very addictive adrenaline rush. We got to play all the top venues, which were fantastic — including Wembley Arena, the NEC, BIC, SEC and even the Royal Albert Hall. The Richard Marx tour was definitely the best for us with a more grown up audience we were able to rock it up and truly be ourselves. It went down really well!”

With John Parr as producer, they recorded two very strong singles in the shape of “Inside Love” and “Man With A Vision”, both of which achieved moderate success in the U.K.

In 2014, the original bass player Pat Davey was working alongside Robert Hart on an Escape Music album when the name SEVEN cropped up in the conversation. It would seem that Khalil Turk was a big fan, as Devine explains. “Yeah, back in the day, Khalil had really loved the band and he got in touch to see if we would be interested in finally releasing an album,” he says. Without too much convincing, the project was born.

The production talents of Lars Chriss (the LION’S SHARE guitarist whose repertoire includes albums with Steve Overland, Chris Ousey, LUGNET, NIVA and RADIOACTIVE) were enlisted to produce the band’s debut album, called “7”, which was released to critical acclaim and was held up as one of the “albums of the year” on many lists.

Following the success of the first album, a passion was rekindled within Devine and McFarlane, who began work on new material, and along with the writing talents of Lars Chriss, Fredrik Bergh (BLOODBOUND, ROB MORATTI, STREET TALK), Andy Loos (LION’S SHARE, GLORY, CHRIS OUSEY), Kay Backlund (LION’S SHARE, NIVA) and Jeff Paris (MR. BIG, Y&T, VIXEN, RADIOACTIVE), that passion was given focus and a place to come to life. What they discovered was a well of untapped creativity that had been hidden for far too long and the songs poured out.

SEVEN’s “Shattered” is a collection of wonderfully catchy songs that rely on clean and memorable melodies that allow Devine’s distinctive voice to shine through. It was Devine who took the lead in writing the lyrics on this album, matching the intensity and feel of the music to deliver a modern melodic rock album with influences ranging from hints of FOREIGNER in “A Better Life” and “Broken Dream”, JOURNEY in “High Hopes” and even traces of MAGNUM in “Light Of 1000 Eyes” and “Last Illusion”. The lyrical themes are drawn from a depth of life experience and observations and are heartfelt and real. The production talents of Chriss and the lineup of truly great musicians, deliver an album of depth and variation which ranges from driving guitar-led tracks with memorable riffs to melodic anthems, all backed by stunning keys, bass and standout solos. It is an album that is a worthy follow-up to the critically acclaimed “7”.

Hevidence release debut album ‘Nobody’s Fault’ in December

Frontiers Music Srl announces the release of Hevidence’s debut album, “Nobody’s Fault” on December 2, 2016.

Hevidence is the brainchild of Italian guitar player Diego Reali, founding member of Italian Prog Metal masters DGM. After he left the band in 2006, he started dabbling in some different musical styles, but his heart called for him to get back to metal! Thus Hevidence were born and Diego joined up with DGM bass player Andrea Arcangeli, singer Corrado Quoiani and drummer Emiliano Bonini.

“This band is highly inspired by the classic hard and heavy sounds from the ’70s and ’80s, that’s why we worked hard to make this album sound the most vintage that was possible,” tells Diego. “We are convinced that a huge dose of improvisation during the recording sessions is needed for the success of an original product. Everyone of us has many different musical influences and they came out in a very spontaneous way within the song writing process, we just believe in the word “ROCK”!!!”

Hevidence offer a mature and personal vision of hard rock and metal with a style reminiscent of the classic Official Yngwie Malmsteen albums mixed with power metal and melodic hard rock influences (think early Europe).

An EPK where you can learn more about the band and hear song samples is here:https://youtu.be/TDzEVFY27Yc

The band will be launching the album with a special “Release Party” show in Roma at the JAILBREAK LiveClub on December 1st. For more info:http://www.jailbreakliveclub.it/

Dario Mollo’s Crossbones unleash ‘Rock The Cradle’ in December

Frontiers Music Srl is pleased to announce the release of Dario Mollo’s CROSSBONES new album, “Rock the Cradle” on December 2nd.

Best known for his partnerships in the The Cage with Tony Martin (ex-Black Sabbath) and Voodoo Hill with Glenn Hughes (Black Country Communion, Deep Purple, California Breed), Italian guitarist Dario Mollo began his career in 1981 with the band CROSSBONES. With them, he released his first studio album in 1989, which was produced by Kit Woolven (Thin Lizzy Official, MAGNUM and UFO, among others) before getting involved in the production side of things himself.

For this new CROSSBONES album, the Italian axeman brought back original drummer, Ezio Secomandi with the line-up completed by his regular collaborator Dario Patti on bass and keyboards. The choice for the singer was Carl Sentance (Nazareth, Don Airey Band, Persian Risk, KROKUSonline), who came at the suggestion of Don Airey of Deep Purple, during a recent visit to Dario’s home.

“I think this record has a strong identity and character,” tells Dario. “It is a mature production and the songs range on many styles of hard rock and classic heavy metal, but every song has a catchy chorus. I also think this album shows how much I liked working with Carl. He is easily one of the best singers I have ever worked with. I am certain our cooperation will not end with this cd!” concludes Dario. The quality of the material presented here is witness to that statement.

“Rock the Cradle” tracklisting:

1. Red

2. Take Me High

3. Navigation

4. Rock The Cradle

5. Gates Of Time

6. I Got This Feeling

7. In My Blood

8. Running From The Shadow

“After the release of “Sacrificium” we embarked on our longest Tour so far. Over 150 shows that took us around the globe. Through so many different countries and diverse cultures. Through so many different, yet inspiring dimensions. We brought back plenty of memories, sometimes just bits and pieces, but those stuck to our heads. And it made us see who we are and where we wanted to take our music. Made us fearless. Made us push our boundaries once more. Made us cross some so-called genre defining borders. Made us bundle all our trademarks and take them to the next level. All this makes the most colourful Xandria album so far. It contains our most heavy and most emotional moments. Again, producer Joost van den Broek did a phenomenal job capturing the atmosphere down to every detail. A Theater of musical Dimensions. Can’t wait to share the songs with you…”

Skid Row Offer Short Teaser Of ‘United World Rebellion: Chapter Two’

Skid Row is surprising their fans with an unusual way to release their new music. Instead of one full album, the band is releasing three mini albums over the course of several months. Rachel Bolan states, “We wanted to do something different and the idea of releasing three mini albums, appealed to me. Especially with the constantly changing musical climate I liked the idea of a steady flow of new music we decided to release it this way to keep new music coming for our fans.”

‘Rise Of The Damnation Army – United World Rebellion: Chapter Two’, will be released on August 4th in Europe as CD digipack, 180 Gram single vinyl gatefold and digital. Megaforce Records will release the CD on August 5th in the US and it will be released to the rest of the world via UDR/ADA/Warner on August 6th.

Most of the songs were written in Atlanta, Georgia, but a lot of the lyrics were written while the band was on the road. As with ‘United World Rebellion: Chapter One’, Skid Row worked very hard on ‘Rise Of The Damnation Army’ as time is always an issue while the band is touring so much. The songs are some of their most aggressive ones to date and very heartfelt. Listening to them you hear the full explosion and intensity and you want to just throw your fists in the air and conjunct with them for a United World Rebellion.

The EP will also contain as bonus tracks covers of Queen and Aerosmith classics. Asking why they chose the cover songs the band stated, “These songs fit seamlessly into the subject matter of United World Rebellion: Chapter Two. They both have that ‘get up and fight’ attitude. These songs were from our youth that meant a lot and as far as we know, no one has covered them, and more important, the songs are still exciting and fit perfectly with the attitude of all other songs on the album.”

Skid Row were showered with gold and platinum awards, their debut album sold over 5 million copies in the US alone, but not resting on their laurels, Skid Row is one of the hardest working bands ever. They’ve been around for more than 25 years and are still going strong.

‘Rise Of The Damnation Army – United World Rebellion: Chapter Two’ track listing:
1. We Are The Damned
2. Give It The Gun
3. Catch Your Fall
4. Damnation Army
5. Zero Day
Bonus tracks:
6. Sheer Heart Attack (Queen)
7. Rats In The Cellar (Aerosmith)

Joe Elliott’s Down ‘N’ Outz Release “Rock And Roll Queen” Video

Down ‘N’ Outz, the project fronted byDef Leppard singer Joe Elliott, have premiered their new video “Rock And Roll Queen”. The song is the first single off of the new album ‘The Further Adventures Of…’, a collection of songs connected to Mott The Hopple.

Shot at “The Corporation” in Sheffield on May 12th, 2014, the video was directed by Lee Ford. “Shooting a video in a dark, dirty and seedy nightclub in Sheffield brought back some great memories of being at such a club watching bands as a teenager,” says Elliott. “The perfect setting for the Down ‘N’ Outz to blast through some fantastic retro rock!”

The Down ‘N’ Outz project was born in 2009 when Mott The Hoople re-formed and asked long-time friend and fan Joe Elliott to get involved. Elliott formed Down ‘N’ Outz with The Quireboys’ Paul Guerin (guitar), Guy Griffin (guitar) and Keith Weir (keyboards), together with Phil Martin (drums). Together they looked to bring songs by Mott The Hoople and spin off projects of Mott, Ian Hunter and British Lions to a wider audience. ‘The Further Adventures Of…’ was recorded at Joe Elliott’s own studio Joe’s Garage.

Slash’s ‘World On Fire’ Coming In September

Slash's 'World On Fire' Coming In SeptemberSlash and his bandmates Myles Kennedy and The Conspirators will release their new album ‘World On Fire’ on September 15 via the guitarist’s own label Dik Hayd International.

Artwork for ‘World On Fire’ was designed by American contemporary artist Ron English. Featuring the blazing title track as the first single, the disc marks Slash’s third solo album and second one with his band featuring Myles Kennedy (vocals), Brent Fitz (drums) and Todd Kerns (bass).

For ‘World On Fire’, Slash and his band tapped Michael “Elvis” Baskette (Alter Bridge, Falling In Reverse, Incubus) to produce. Among the 17 songs is an instrumental — a powerful new turn for the band.

‘World On Fire’ is the follow-up to 2012’s critically acclaimed ‘Apocalyptic Love’, which debuted at #4 on the Billboard Top 200 chart, earned Slash two #1 U.S. rock radio hits (his first ever solo) with “You’re A Lie” and “Standing In The Sun”, and was voted the third best album of the year by Sleaze Roxx readers.

Slash officially began recording as a solo artist with his self-titled 2010 debut album which employed a different vocalist on each track including Ozzy Osbourne, Fergie and Myles Kennedy among others.

Slash featuring Myles Kennedy and The Conspirators will be touring Europe and the United Kingdom in 2014. Tickets go on sale on Friday May 30th, visit slashonline.com for a complete list of dates.

Ace Frehley Premieres New Solo Track “Gimme A Feelin”

Former KISS guitarist Ace Frehley was finishing up ‘Space Invader’, his first solo album in five years, around the time he was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Now, with the album’s release date of July 8th a little over a month away, the Spaceman is sharing the hard-rocking first single “Gimme A Feelin'” with Rolling Stone.

Aside from the music, ‘Space Invader’ has another through-line to Frehley’s days with his old band: Ken Kelly — the artist who created the sleeves for KISS’ most popular records, 1976’s Destroyer and 1977’s Love Gun — designed the album’s cover. The album also contains a rendition of the Steve Miller Band’s 1973 song “The Joker”, and Frehley has compared its sound overall to that of his 1978 self-titled solo album, which contained the hit “New York Groove”.

“I’m really excited about this record, because everybody that’s heard the tracks just says they think some of the tracks are even better than (Frehley’s 2009 album) ‘Anomaly’, and even showing another side of me,” Frehley told Rolling Stone in March.

He also said at the time that he was planning an album of cover songs similar to his take on “The Joker”, and although he wouldn’t name the songs he wanted to include, he offered up a list of musicians he hoped would contribute to the album. “(I want to) get some celebrity guests to play on it, some of the covers and stuff, get Slash, Mike McCready, my buddy from Pearl Jam. The list is endless,” he said. “I might even get Gene (Simmons) to play bass on a track.”

New Album From Slash Set To Be Released Around September This Year

The next studio album from Slash was expected this year, but the timescales are a little clearer after Slash suggested at South By Southwest festival that it would launch around September.

Speaking to Fuse, after judging the “Slashathon” – a competition to come up with an app he could incorporate into the music – the guitarist appeared fairly definite when he mentioned September.

The new album will once more be billed as Slash ft. Myles Kennedy and The Conspirators, following 2012’s ‘Apocalyptic Love’.

Slash Teams With Ernie Ball for Online Series Documenting New Album Process

Oh to be a fly on the wall when SlashMyles Kennedy and the Conspirators get together to lay down new music. Well now you can be, as the guitar great and his band are teaming with the Ernie Ball company to provide fans with a new online series titled ‘Real to Reel With Slash.’

The series takes viewers inside the studio as the band lays down the music for their next album, with Myles Kennedy, Todd Kerns and Brent Fitz offering insights into the recording of the new album along with Slash. The band has been splitting their time between NRG Studios in Los Angeles and Studio Barbarossa in Florida as they write, play, create and record their new album.

The first episode, which just went live, has Fitz primarily providing the narrative. The clip, which finds the drummer discussing the band’s approach to recording the new album, can be seen above. A new episode will appear weekly, giving viewers up-to-date and virtually real-time progress reports as the recording journey continues.

“I love the process of recording live in the studio and the sound of a rock ‘n’ roll band recorded on 2-inch tape as opposed to digital,” says Slash. “I thought it would be cool to show some footage of us doing exactly that.” Slash and his band are currently working on the follow-up to the successful ‘Apocalyptic Love’ album. For future ‘Real to Reel’ episodes, be sure to stay tuned to Slash’s website.

Slash Regrets Portraying Himself As A ‘Crazy Loser Junkie’

Saul Hudson

Slash says he has a big regret about his time with Guns N’ Roses, and it’s not his legendarily fractious relationship with Axl Rose. It’s the way he was “limited to the image of me as a crazy loser junkie.”

The birth of two sons with his wife Perla a few years back helped convince Slash to go straight, but not before the public’s image of him was seemingly set in stone.

“People were a little intimidated by that,” Slash tells Metro. “It was a narrow-minded idea of who I was, but at the same time I gave that impression during interviews.”

There was always more to the guitar legend than that, Slash says. He formed Slash’s Snakepit and Velvet Revolver after leaving GNR, and has since moved into a more-eclectic solo career that’s featured collaborations with Ozzy OsbourneChris Cornell and Myles Kennedy of Alter Bridge. A native of the U.K.’s Stoke-on-Trent who moved to America at age 6, Slash says British rock had a big impact on him at an early age — rather than the usual metal suspects.

“That’s where it all started for me,” Slash adds. “I was raised listening to the Yardbirds, the Stones, the Moody Blues, the Kinks, the Beatles, the Who, all that stuff. My uncles and his brothers were huge fans. Then, when I moved to the States, I got turned on to everything that was happening there at that time. I picked up the guitar way later but I had a healthy dose of musical influences growing up.”

Meanwhile, he’s also established a new second career as a movie producer. The horror film ‘Nothing Left to Fear’ is available for home viewing now. A third Slash solo album is in the works next, according to bassist Todd Kearns.
