Tracii Guns and Phil Lewis reunite LA Guns and release new album in 2017

Frontiers Music Srl is delighted to welcome the reunion of Tracii Guns And Phil Lewis as L.A. GUNS to the label for the release of a brand new album set for release in the summer of 2017.

After a nearly 15 year break, Philip Lewis and Tracii Guns are back together for another chapter in their partnership that began in 1986, four years after Tracii formed L.A. Guns in 1982.

Their writing partnership spawned classic L.A. GUNS songs such as “Sex Action”, “Never Enough”, “Electric Gypsy”, “The Ballad Of Jayne”, and countless more in an impressive catalog of fan favorites. The last time Lewis and Guns joined forces was back in 2000 with legendary producer Andy Johns for the making of what would become “Waking The Dead” – an album that went on to receive tremendous critical acclaim and proved that their musical partnership was every bit as strong as the early days with all-killer-no-filler songs including “Don’t Look At Me That Way”, “Hellraisers Ball”, and “The Ballad”.

“I think we owe it to our fans who have stuck with us during the many ups and downs of the band’s long and checkered career,” says Lewis. “Tracii and I have written the songs to the soundtrack of many people’s lives, and I think it’s definitely worth investigating to see if the magic is still there.”

As for Guns, he’s been compiling song ideas over the last year and promises this one will be one of the band’s heaviest records, simply stating, “It’s good to be home.”

The band has already confirmed a bunch of UK shows in early 2017 and two shows at the legendary Whisky A Go-Go in Los Angeles, CA with more surprises to be announced soon!

Seven – ‘Fight’ official music video

“Fight”, is taken from SEVEN’s new album Shattered, which is released today (September 23rd), by UK label Escape Music Ltd. “Fight” was co-written with well known songwriter Jeff Paris (Mr. Big, Vixen, Y&T, Paul Stanley).

The roots of SEVEN can be traced back to the late ’80s/early ’90s in South Africa, of all places. At the time, Keith McFarlane and the brothers Simon and John LeFevre were in a band called FACE TO FACE, while Mick Devine was drummer in another band, called UC27. After releasing several singles and one album in a period of 18 months, FACE TO FACE split and the brothers LeFevre returned to the U.K. After a few months, they decided to reform the band and Mick was asked to join them in the U.K. as their drummer. It wasn’t before long that the brothers discovered that Mick was actually a better singer than drummer, and so Mick became the band’s lead vocalist. A couple of years later, they were joined by Pat Davey on bass and Austin Lane on drums and the band name was changed to SEVEN.

The AOR scene in the late eighties was a thriving hive of activity. At the turn of the new decade, the likes of Mitch Malloy, Paul Laine, FIREHOUSE, TYKETTO and TALISMAN were all signed up and ready to make an impact on the genre. Everybody wanted an AOR band, and Polydor Records was no exception. Having been fairly successful in the U.K with the likes of MAGNUM and LITTLE ANGELS, the label had set their sights on SEVEN, which at the time was a relatively unknown act from Bournemouth.

SEVEN toured extensively supporting an eclectic variety of acts that included the likes of Jason Donovan, Richard Marx, THE MONKEES and BROTHER BEYOND. It’s a time period that Mick Devine is keen to reminisce about. “Even though they were out and out pop gigs, we loved the crowds and the noise,” he says. “We went from pubs to opening to 3000 screaming fans in Southampton. It is a very addictive adrenaline rush. We got to play all the top venues, which were fantastic — including Wembley Arena, the NEC, BIC, SEC and even the Royal Albert Hall. The Richard Marx tour was definitely the best for us with a more grown up audience we were able to rock it up and truly be ourselves. It went down really well!”

With John Parr as producer, they recorded two very strong singles in the shape of “Inside Love” and “Man With A Vision”, both of which achieved moderate success in the U.K.

In 2014, the original bass player Pat Davey was working alongside Robert Hart on an Escape Music album when the name SEVEN cropped up in the conversation. It would seem that Khalil Turk was a big fan, as Devine explains. “Yeah, back in the day, Khalil had really loved the band and he got in touch to see if we would be interested in finally releasing an album,” he says. Without too much convincing, the project was born.

The production talents of Lars Chriss (the LION’S SHARE guitarist whose repertoire includes albums with Steve Overland, Chris Ousey, LUGNET, NIVA and RADIOACTIVE) were enlisted to produce the band’s debut album, called “7”, which was released to critical acclaim and was held up as one of the “albums of the year” on many lists.

Following the success of the first album, a passion was rekindled within Devine and McFarlane, who began work on new material, and along with the writing talents of Lars Chriss, Fredrik Bergh (BLOODBOUND, ROB MORATTI, STREET TALK), Andy Loos (LION’S SHARE, GLORY, CHRIS OUSEY), Kay Backlund (LION’S SHARE, NIVA) and Jeff Paris (MR. BIG, Y&T, VIXEN, RADIOACTIVE), that passion was given focus and a place to come to life. What they discovered was a well of untapped creativity that had been hidden for far too long and the songs poured out.

SEVEN’s “Shattered” is a collection of wonderfully catchy songs that rely on clean and memorable melodies that allow Devine’s distinctive voice to shine through. It was Devine who took the lead in writing the lyrics on this album, matching the intensity and feel of the music to deliver a modern melodic rock album with influences ranging from hints of FOREIGNER in “A Better Life” and “Broken Dream”, JOURNEY in “High Hopes” and even traces of MAGNUM in “Light Of 1000 Eyes” and “Last Illusion”. The lyrical themes are drawn from a depth of life experience and observations and are heartfelt and real. The production talents of Chriss and the lineup of truly great musicians, deliver an album of depth and variation which ranges from driving guitar-led tracks with memorable riffs to melodic anthems, all backed by stunning keys, bass and standout solos. It is an album that is a worthy follow-up to the critically acclaimed “7”.

Hevidence release debut album ‘Nobody’s Fault’ in December

Frontiers Music Srl announces the release of Hevidence’s debut album, “Nobody’s Fault” on December 2, 2016.

Hevidence is the brainchild of Italian guitar player Diego Reali, founding member of Italian Prog Metal masters DGM. After he left the band in 2006, he started dabbling in some different musical styles, but his heart called for him to get back to metal! Thus Hevidence were born and Diego joined up with DGM bass player Andrea Arcangeli, singer Corrado Quoiani and drummer Emiliano Bonini.

“This band is highly inspired by the classic hard and heavy sounds from the ’70s and ’80s, that’s why we worked hard to make this album sound the most vintage that was possible,” tells Diego. “We are convinced that a huge dose of improvisation during the recording sessions is needed for the success of an original product. Everyone of us has many different musical influences and they came out in a very spontaneous way within the song writing process, we just believe in the word “ROCK”!!!”

Hevidence offer a mature and personal vision of hard rock and metal with a style reminiscent of the classic Official Yngwie Malmsteen albums mixed with power metal and melodic hard rock influences (think early Europe).

An EPK where you can learn more about the band and hear song samples is here:https://youtu.be/TDzEVFY27Yc

The band will be launching the album with a special “Release Party” show in Roma at the JAILBREAK LiveClub on December 1st. For more info:http://www.jailbreakliveclub.it/

Dario Mollo’s Crossbones unleash ‘Rock The Cradle’ in December

Frontiers Music Srl is pleased to announce the release of Dario Mollo’s CROSSBONES new album, “Rock the Cradle” on December 2nd.

Best known for his partnerships in the The Cage with Tony Martin (ex-Black Sabbath) and Voodoo Hill with Glenn Hughes (Black Country Communion, Deep Purple, California Breed), Italian guitarist Dario Mollo began his career in 1981 with the band CROSSBONES. With them, he released his first studio album in 1989, which was produced by Kit Woolven (Thin Lizzy Official, MAGNUM and UFO, among others) before getting involved in the production side of things himself.

For this new CROSSBONES album, the Italian axeman brought back original drummer, Ezio Secomandi with the line-up completed by his regular collaborator Dario Patti on bass and keyboards. The choice for the singer was Carl Sentance (Nazareth, Don Airey Band, Persian Risk, KROKUSonline), who came at the suggestion of Don Airey of Deep Purple, during a recent visit to Dario’s home.

“I think this record has a strong identity and character,” tells Dario. “It is a mature production and the songs range on many styles of hard rock and classic heavy metal, but every song has a catchy chorus. I also think this album shows how much I liked working with Carl. He is easily one of the best singers I have ever worked with. I am certain our cooperation will not end with this cd!” concludes Dario. The quality of the material presented here is witness to that statement.

“Rock the Cradle” tracklisting:

1. Red

2. Take Me High

3. Navigation

4. Rock The Cradle

5. Gates Of Time

6. I Got This Feeling

7. In My Blood

8. Running From The Shadow

Eternal Idol release their debut album ‘The Unrevealed Secret’ in December

Frontiers Music Srl is pleased to announce the upcoming release of ETERNAL IDOL’s debut album, entitled “The Unrevealed Secret”, on December 2nd

Eternal Idol is a new band formed in early 2016 and that marks the start of a new musical adventure for Rhapsody Of Fire and Angra singer Fabio Lione, together with the experienced Italian guitar player Nick Savio (exHOLLOW HAZE Official Page) and a line-up completed by the young vocal rising star Giorgia Colleluori, Camillo Colleluori (both also from Hollow Haze) on drums and Andrea Buratto (Secret Sphere, Hell in the Club) on bass.

While all the musicians have solid pedigrees and musical history behind them, ETERNAL IDOL have a brand new and original sound which will certainly catch many fans by surprise. Fabio Lione says, “[a]fter all the experiences with bands such as KAMELOT, Rhapsody of Fire, Angra and many more, I think it is time to show the world a new side of myself with this amazing new band. Musically, ETERNAL IDOL offer an intriguing mix of classic metal, symphonic rock and a few progressive twists which is truly unique, thanks to the combination of female and male vocals.”

Fabio took care of most of the lyrics and vocal melodies, along with three gorgeous tracks he wrote, while Nick Savio worked hard on songwriting and arrangements. “The Unrevealed Secret” is the album where all our ideas came to the light,” says the axeman from Vicenza. “Heavy classic rock with symphonic elements and the magic atmosphere of two lead vocals, male and female, create a contrast between good and bad as the main subject, as it is possible to see on the impressive and mysterious cover artwork.”

The album was recorded in the summer of 2016, produced by Nick Savio and mixed by Simone Mularoni (DGM, Sunstorm) and promises to be one of the melodic metal releases of the year. Fans of Kamelot, Magnus Karlsson’s Free Fall, MasterPlan, and Avantasia should pay attention.

“There is a story to be told with this album, and the secret will be revealed on the next Eternal Idol releases, so please take your time to listen this first chapter and enjoy….A new story has begun,” Nick concludes.

LOVERBOY KEYBOARDIST DOUG JOHNSON’S NOTES TO SELF:
Indie release available on iTunes, CDBaby and his own website is an homage to Beethoven, Bartok, Chopin and Ravel featuring pieces he composed and arranged himself.

Los Angeles, April 30, 2014-The distance from “Working for the Weekend” to classical composers like Beethoven, Bartok, Chopin and Ravel might seem like a long way, but Loverboy keyboardist Doug Johnson has proven there is a connection on his new CD, Notes to Self. Recorded in Vancouver with classical musicians from the Vancouver Opera Symphony, the CBC Radio Symphony and the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra, the album is available digitally on iTunes and CDBaby as well as in physical form on his own website (www.dougjohnsonmusic.com/CD.html) via PayPal.
“If you listen, the keyboard parts for many of Loverboy’s songs were very much informed by my classical training,” says Johnson, who started taking piano lessons at four years old, then received his Associate of the Royal Conservatory of Toronto (A.R.C.T) degree when he was 18, with a silver medal. “This has been a lifelong passion for me.”
Recorded in Vancouver on a nine-foot Steinway concert grand piano with a variety of classical musicians-most prominently violinist Mark Ferris, who helped with the arrangements, and flautist Lorna McGhee-Notes to Self was inspired by “my physical and emotional connections to the places and people in my life.”
The album ranges from solo pieces like the playful “Sucrose,” a number that reflects the deleterious effects of a birthday cake-induced sugar rush on his visiting granddaughters to a quintet featuring violin, viola, cello, flute and his own keyboards on the opening four-part “The Crescent Suite,” a grand vision of four seasons as seen from running on the beach near his Surrey home in West Canada.

“It goes from the fall, when the storms start coming in (‘Con Brio’) through all four seasons, ending with the summer (‘Maestoso’), when all the tourists arrive and life is more laid-back,” says Johnson, who also captures the brooding, overcast nature of the area’s weather in “Waltz of the Grey Days,” a duet with piano and cello.
“Zoe” and “Emily” are dedicated to his nieces, the former “beautiful, capricious and brave,” the latter “a methodical, persistent problem-solver,” both painting vivid pictures by capturing those personalities in sound. “Two Versions of a Visit” is another piano/cello duet that reflects the very different personalities of his two grandsons. “Warsaw” is his tribute to Chopin, whom Johnson considers “the best composer of piano music who ever lived… I’ve always had a special place in my heart for him.”
Johnson, an outspoken believer in music education, hopes that Notes to Self will simply make people feel good. “I’m hoping it will energize them, and allow them to reflect,” he says. “Music is inspired by the things around us and our experiences, our interactions with others,” adds Johnson. “I wanted to let people in on that process, how this album came about.”

And while he has already performed some of this music recently in a live setting, Johnson isn’t about to ignore his “day” job, playing with Loverboy, who for three decades have entertained several generations of fans with hits like “Working for the Weekend,” “Lovin’ Every Minute of It,” “This Could Be the Night,” “Hot Girls in Love,” “Heaven In Your Eyes,” “Turn Me Loose,” “When It’s Over,” “The Kid is Hot Tonite” and “Queen of the Broken Hearts.”
“Playing with Loverboy is just a great deal of fun,” he says. “We’re like brothers. We get to stand up before thousands of fans, and when you look out into the crowd, you see them smiling, laughing, dancing and having a great time. Our songs seem to have stood the test of time. They’re not only relatable to our old fans, but their kids.”

NEW WIZARDS OF WINTER ALBUM ARTWORK TO BE DESIGNED BY IOANNIS:
Legendary record cover artist Ioannis (Deep Purple, Uriah Heep, King Crimson, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Bob Weir, Allman Brothers Band, Dream Theater) will be joining forces with The Wizards of Winter to produce cover artwork for their upcoming album to be released later this year. Ioannis will also design merchandise and the tour art for their upcoming 2014 schedule.
Says Ioannis, “I think The Wizards of Winter is an incredibly talented group of individuals and it will be cool to work on their holiday project, so I am really looking forward to doing this.”  Plans are also in discussion for additional ventures to be announced later this year.

The Wizards of Winter, the prog-metal-meets-classical rock band that has been hard at work recording their second release, are excited to be working with this iconic artist for the design of their album cover artwork. Ioannis has created the covers of over 170 albums, with his art firmly rooted in fantasy and surrealism. The currently untitled album, produced by Tommy Farese of Trans-Siberian Orchestra fame, promises to continue the band’s style of integrating elements of hard rock and classical influences into a distinctive blend of original compositions. “We are honored to have the privilege to work with a creative master like Ioannis,” said Scott Kelly, leader of The Wizards of Winter. “His art work has graced the album covers of so many of the music industry’s legendary performers that he too, truly is a legend. When Ioannis contacted us and told us that he really liked our material and wanted to work together, we were really quite surprised given where the band is in its development. It is just another proof point that the Wizards are really beginning to gain some broad recognition. After speaking with Ioannis, Steve Ratchen, one of the other co-founders of the band, and I both found that besides being a very nice and approachable guy, his artistic concepts and marketing directions appear to be exactly what we need at this time to assist us in moving to the next level. We are humbly grateful that he has chosen to work with us and greatly look forward to working with him.”

UNISONIC ANNOUNCE NEW ALBUM AND EP ‘FOR THE KINGDOM’:
Two years after their celebrated eponymous debut album German hard rock supergroup Unisonic which includes Michael Kiske, Kai Hansen, Dennis Ward, Mandy Meyer and last but not least Kosta Zafiriou is back with a new record that will be released on July 25. As a foretaste of their eagerly awaited sophomore album the band will release the EP ‘For The Kingdom’, which contains two new songs and four live tracks, on May 23.

Rock and metal fans had to wait many many years – 23 to be exact – before it finally happened: German metal icons Kai Hansen and Michael Kiske, who kicked off German Metal trailblazers Helloween’s international triumph with the two ‘Keeper Of The Seven Keys’ records at the end of the 80s, got back together again. Again? Yes, again: Hansen quit Helloween in 1989 to found Gamma Ray while Kiske left four years later to attend to his solo projects. Even though the band already formed a year before Kai joined them but it was his involvement that made Unisonic a so-called supergroup.
The two congenial musicians’ new baby was called Unisonic and instantly aroused enthusiasm in the rock and metal community. Their first single ‘Unisonic’ got well over 150.000 YouTube clicks in just a few days after its release in January 2012 and has by now garnered more than 640.000. When music legends like Kiske on mic and Hansen on guitar, who are completed by bassist Dennis Ward (Pink Cream 69), guitarrist Mandy Meyer (Krokus, ex Asia & Gotthard) and drummer Kosta Zafiriou (ex Pink Cream 69), pool their creative strengths, the world is going to be set on fire for sure.
And Unisonic did deliver the goods: After their teaser mini album ‘Ignition’ got rave reviews and sold out immediately, the eponymous full-length debut was equally acclaimed and proved impressively that the chemistry between Hansen and Kiske is simply second to none. However, all those who expected a third ‘Keeper Of The Seven Keys’ album were mistaken: Instead of relying on worn out success patterns the two thoroughbred musicians rather indulged in heavy rock than in power metal and delivered a stylistically manifold album which featured everything from emotional ballad to luscious rock track while occasionally still drawing on buzzing heavy metal of course. The outcome was a unique collection of rock anthems full of energy, melody and magic.

And there’s more to come. Only two years later Hansen, Kiske and co. up the ante again with their sophomore album which is once more produced by Dennis Ward and will be released on July 25th. Heralding this eagerly awaited full-length album, Unisonic will again offer a foretaste in form of an EP called ‘For The Kingdom’ which will see the light of day on May 23rd. The six song collection consists of the brand new album track ‘For The Kingdom’, which hymn-like chorus and its double-bass footwork extraordinaire will rush the blood to the head of all metal fans. Followed by the EP exclusive smasher ‘You Come Undone’ which could have been included on the first band offering as well but also gives a hint of what to expect from the near-by future plus four live recordings from their show at the Masters Of Rock Festival 2012 in the Czech Republic where Unisonic performed a celebrated show (also exclusive to this EP).

CALIFORNIA BREED PREMIERES VIDEO FOR “MIDNIGHT OIL” SINGLE:
The celebrated hard rock power trio, California Breed, which consists of Glenn Hughes (vocals, bass), Jason Bonham (drums) and Andrew Watt (guitar), will premiere the official lyric video for their current single Midnight Oil on Wednesday April 9 via Classic Rock’s website. Fans can now enjoy the clip here also:

The song is also available from today as an instant grat track by pre-ordering the album exclusively from iTunes worldwide via this link: smarturl.it/CaliforniaBreed. The animated lyric video was created by Nev Todoroic who spearheads the interactive media production company The Young Astronauts.
Says California Breed’s guitarist, Andrew Watt – “We wanted to a lyric video that would make people want to watch this song in addition to just listen to it, one that would highlight the bombastic grooves of the track and convey the rhythm of the message. I turned to my friends, the Young Astronauts, whose previous videos have hundreds of millions of views, but they who don’t work with a lot of rock bands and I thought THAT’S the magic, right there.”
“It’s a refreshing animated video that really captures the lyrical concert and message of the Midnight Oil single,” says California Breed’s vocalist and bassist, Glenn Hughes“We didn’t want to make a run-of-the-mill lyric video. The animation perfectly captures the raw energy, lyrical content and the message of what Midnight Oil is really all about… rock n roll!!”

Midnight Oil is UK’s first single taken from California Breed’s self-titled debut album which is released in Europe on May 16 and UK/US on May 19 on Frontiers Records. The new album was produced in Nashville, Tennessee by Dave Cobb (Rival Sons, Jamey Johnson, Shooter Jennings) and features 23-year-old guitarist Andrew Watt, who was originally introduced to Glenn Hughes by Julian Lennon at a party in LA in 2013.
California Breed are planning a UK and European tour in September. Tour dates will be announced in the coming weeks.

KARL COCHRANE BEATING THE ODDS!:
A good news update on guitarist Karl Cochrane’s condition. From his Facebook page earlier today:

“Hi Everyone, This will be the last daily update, as Karl has beat the odds, and is out of life threatening danger. From now on, it will be weekly, or if something super spectacular happens, sooner. I will leave the updates to the few visitors we are allowing, and allow them to tell their cool stories about Karl if they would like to share. I cannot tell you what your prayers, well wishes, positive reinforcements, and overall concern have meant to his friends, family, and especially his mother and father. Keep the comments and Facebook private messages coming. I read them to Karl every time I see him (when he’s not grabbing the phone from my hand trying to do it himself). I don’t respond to them all, but believe me, they are read.
The rehabilitation process has begun for Karl, and he now needs time, patience, and most importantly, the privacy to work through this with the help of his family and a select group of close friends. Our one and only concern is getting Karl healthy and mobile, and allowing him to do this in peace and privacy. So, we are restricting visitors to family, and a few close friends, until Karl is able and willing to tell us his wishes. If you have any questions, concerns, or requests, please forward them to me, Chris Mitchell (I don’t have a FB account) atwebmaster@karlcochran.com. I will respond to you as soon as possible. Keep the faith!”

LIZHARD IS LOOKING FOR A NEW SINGER :
It’s been a long ride together and a wonderful adventure but due to unexpected events the band and Luke Marsilio decided by mutual agreement to separate their ways. Luke is no longer in Lizhard, he has got new priorities and he’s moved in a different direction than us, but we must go on our way keeping Lizhard alive in respect of our friends and fans. We wish him the best of luck and will always value and thank him for the time he spent in our band. After touring through Europe and opening for bands like Glenn Hughes, White Lione, Eric Martin, Bonfire, Soul Doctor and many others, we’ve finished the new full length and we want you to sing it along with some friends like Marco Mendoza and Paul Shortino who already participates to this new great album. We want you…to join the big family!
Candidates looking to apply should send an email to management@lizhard.com. We will send you a vocal-free music, you should record the vocals and email tracks back along with full contact information and picture to the e-mail address listed above. Candidates are also encouraged to send us a link to a video or personal YouTube page (where it’s possible to see materials from their own bands or work).

We expect from you the following:
1. You must have great singing skills.
2. You have to be awesome on the stage.
3. English mother tongue or perfect English speaking.

The Birdcage: First Ever Music Album To Be Released as a Videogame

Capricia Productions” Launches Indiegogo Funding Campaign for The Birdcage, First Ever Music Album To Be Released as a Videogame

Featuring Artists from Rock Legends Guns N’ Roses, Evanescence, Within Temptation, Kamelot and others.
JERUSALEM, March 06, 2014 – Indiegogo, the world’s largest crowdfunding platform announces today that Capricia‘s fundingcampaign for the first ever music album created as a videogame The Birdcage is now liveThe Birdcage is the first music concept rock album ever to be released as a full-scale video game instead of as a traditional CD or Mp3 download. The groundbreakingalbum entirely visualized as a videogame is a modern rock re-creation of The Beauty and the Beast fairytale with the music driving and creating the story rather than the music complimenting and coming secondary to the story and action. In order to create the perfect soul shattering music, big guns of rock from bands such as “Guns N’ Roses”, Evanescence, Within Temptation, Kamelot, Dream Theater, Alice Cooper, and many others were enlisted.

Albums don’t sell like they used to, so how do we create music that we want to make while also avoiding the starving artist label?”said Arnold Nesis, Music Producer for The Birdcage. “We believe that we have found a way to change the music industry by combining the haunting and heart racing sound of an album created by the best rock artists in the world with the immersive and soul wrenching environments, storyline and interactivity of a videogame to create a truly unique and industry changing product.

(Arnold Nesis – music producer for The Birdcage)
The Birdcage retells the Folk legend of Beauty and the Beast the way it should have been to begin with – as a conceptual, story driven, rock album, set in modern times that deals with the psychological and social aspects of this grim crime. The beauty, Gitta is a young and fair looking girl, living in a trailer park with her drunk and abusive father and her lazy mean older sister. She loathes them both. Her mother has left many years ago. Gitta works hard as a waitress at a local diner and dreams of the day she’ll leave her family and the gloomy trailer park just like her mother. Her plans are disturbed when her father loses a big sum of money while participating in illegal gambling at the house of a mysterious rich person called Bres. Her father is given an ultimatum – he is to submit his younger daughter to Bres or he’ll be killed. The father doesn’t think twice – he drugs Gitta and gives her up to Bres, warned that if he turns to the police, both he and Gitta will be shot. From here on the plot follows the development of the abusive relationship between Gitta and Bres, as Gitta’s affection towards him grows, and the events rush towards the inevitable end.

The Birdcage funders will have the option of choosing a reward based on the amount of money that they contribute. Some of the rewards include getting their photos into the game, signed props from the musicians in the game, original recorded materials and even the opportunity to perform in the album itself side by side with the legendary artists.

Dream Theater’s John Petrucci Interviewed

Nikola Savic of Prog-Sphere.com has conducted an interview with Dream Theater’s guitarist and founding member John Petrucci. Couple of excerpts from the interview can be read below:

Do you think that with two Grammy nominations we have progressive metal receiving some kind of recognition after all these years?
It definitely seems like that. I mean, this is the style that we’ve done from the beginning. We believe in it, and we know that all around the world there are people that appreciate that kind of music, there’s fans of this style of music, it’s been around for many years and our metal twist on it, it’s something that we’ve been doing for almost 30 years now. So yeah, I think it’s relevant and it’s important since today’s music scene is definitely reflected, not only by a lot of young bands that are fusing the style into their music, but also by being recognized by many different organizations, including the Grammy. So, it’s really cool. Because it’s something we love to do, we believe in it and it’s great to get that kind of recognition.
The North American Along for the Ride tour kicks off on March 20 in Toronto. Will you be making any drastic changes in the setlist, comparing with the setlist you perform in Europe?
No, the set’s gonna be the same and the way that we are doing things this time around it’s very – there’s a certain flow through the set and through the story. Everything has a meaning and a purpose, all of the songs that we chose, all of the visuals and everything. So, it’s more like a storyline that goes through the show. In order to deliver in a most professional, exciting and consistent way it was important for us to keep the same set, so it’s gonna be the same and I’m actually really excited to bring it in North America, because we’ve got incredible reactions to it here in Europe. It’s a very unique set, it’s a lot of music, it’s an evening’s worth, there’s three hours and it’s really intense. I can’t wait to bring this to North America – US, Canada, Mexico. It’s gonna be great.
You decided to take a different approach in the studio for this album. The idea was to capture the live energy of the recording session. How much did you succeed in doing so, in your opinion?
In my opinion I think that we completely succeeded in that. We had a great engineer Richard Chycki, he’s set all the sounds so it’s really dialed in from the beginning, so anything that we wrote and recorded from day one we were able to keep. And so there’s a lot of spontaneous performances that are captured that you hear on the album. I think like doing things that way, it kind of makes the energy level and the spontaneity that much higher and that much more of an element on the album. I think we definitely succeeded, I can feel it. You know, when I listen to it, crank it up in my car or wherever, to me it’s very exciting. It has a lot of attitude, energy and spirit to it.
