Tracii Guns and Phil Lewis reunite LA Guns and release new album in 2017

Frontiers Music Srl is delighted to welcome the reunion of Tracii Guns And Phil Lewis as L.A. GUNS to the label for the release of a brand new album set for release in the summer of 2017.

After a nearly 15 year break, Philip Lewis and Tracii Guns are back together for another chapter in their partnership that began in 1986, four years after Tracii formed L.A. Guns in 1982.

Their writing partnership spawned classic L.A. GUNS songs such as “Sex Action”, “Never Enough”, “Electric Gypsy”, “The Ballad Of Jayne”, and countless more in an impressive catalog of fan favorites. The last time Lewis and Guns joined forces was back in 2000 with legendary producer Andy Johns for the making of what would become “Waking The Dead” – an album that went on to receive tremendous critical acclaim and proved that their musical partnership was every bit as strong as the early days with all-killer-no-filler songs including “Don’t Look At Me That Way”, “Hellraisers Ball”, and “The Ballad”.

“I think we owe it to our fans who have stuck with us during the many ups and downs of the band’s long and checkered career,” says Lewis. “Tracii and I have written the songs to the soundtrack of many people’s lives, and I think it’s definitely worth investigating to see if the magic is still there.”

As for Guns, he’s been compiling song ideas over the last year and promises this one will be one of the band’s heaviest records, simply stating, “It’s good to be home.”

The band has already confirmed a bunch of UK shows in early 2017 and two shows at the legendary Whisky A Go-Go in Los Angeles, CA with more surprises to be announced soon!

Seven – ‘Fight’ official music video

“Fight”, is taken from SEVEN’s new album Shattered, which is released today (September 23rd), by UK label Escape Music Ltd. “Fight” was co-written with well known songwriter Jeff Paris (Mr. Big, Vixen, Y&T, Paul Stanley).

The roots of SEVEN can be traced back to the late ’80s/early ’90s in South Africa, of all places. At the time, Keith McFarlane and the brothers Simon and John LeFevre were in a band called FACE TO FACE, while Mick Devine was drummer in another band, called UC27. After releasing several singles and one album in a period of 18 months, FACE TO FACE split and the brothers LeFevre returned to the U.K. After a few months, they decided to reform the band and Mick was asked to join them in the U.K. as their drummer. It wasn’t before long that the brothers discovered that Mick was actually a better singer than drummer, and so Mick became the band’s lead vocalist. A couple of years later, they were joined by Pat Davey on bass and Austin Lane on drums and the band name was changed to SEVEN.

The AOR scene in the late eighties was a thriving hive of activity. At the turn of the new decade, the likes of Mitch Malloy, Paul Laine, FIREHOUSE, TYKETTO and TALISMAN were all signed up and ready to make an impact on the genre. Everybody wanted an AOR band, and Polydor Records was no exception. Having been fairly successful in the U.K with the likes of MAGNUM and LITTLE ANGELS, the label had set their sights on SEVEN, which at the time was a relatively unknown act from Bournemouth.

SEVEN toured extensively supporting an eclectic variety of acts that included the likes of Jason Donovan, Richard Marx, THE MONKEES and BROTHER BEYOND. It’s a time period that Mick Devine is keen to reminisce about. “Even though they were out and out pop gigs, we loved the crowds and the noise,” he says. “We went from pubs to opening to 3000 screaming fans in Southampton. It is a very addictive adrenaline rush. We got to play all the top venues, which were fantastic — including Wembley Arena, the NEC, BIC, SEC and even the Royal Albert Hall. The Richard Marx tour was definitely the best for us with a more grown up audience we were able to rock it up and truly be ourselves. It went down really well!”

With John Parr as producer, they recorded two very strong singles in the shape of “Inside Love” and “Man With A Vision”, both of which achieved moderate success in the U.K.

In 2014, the original bass player Pat Davey was working alongside Robert Hart on an Escape Music album when the name SEVEN cropped up in the conversation. It would seem that Khalil Turk was a big fan, as Devine explains. “Yeah, back in the day, Khalil had really loved the band and he got in touch to see if we would be interested in finally releasing an album,” he says. Without too much convincing, the project was born.

The production talents of Lars Chriss (the LION’S SHARE guitarist whose repertoire includes albums with Steve Overland, Chris Ousey, LUGNET, NIVA and RADIOACTIVE) were enlisted to produce the band’s debut album, called “7”, which was released to critical acclaim and was held up as one of the “albums of the year” on many lists.

Following the success of the first album, a passion was rekindled within Devine and McFarlane, who began work on new material, and along with the writing talents of Lars Chriss, Fredrik Bergh (BLOODBOUND, ROB MORATTI, STREET TALK), Andy Loos (LION’S SHARE, GLORY, CHRIS OUSEY), Kay Backlund (LION’S SHARE, NIVA) and Jeff Paris (MR. BIG, Y&T, VIXEN, RADIOACTIVE), that passion was given focus and a place to come to life. What they discovered was a well of untapped creativity that had been hidden for far too long and the songs poured out.

SEVEN’s “Shattered” is a collection of wonderfully catchy songs that rely on clean and memorable melodies that allow Devine’s distinctive voice to shine through. It was Devine who took the lead in writing the lyrics on this album, matching the intensity and feel of the music to deliver a modern melodic rock album with influences ranging from hints of FOREIGNER in “A Better Life” and “Broken Dream”, JOURNEY in “High Hopes” and even traces of MAGNUM in “Light Of 1000 Eyes” and “Last Illusion”. The lyrical themes are drawn from a depth of life experience and observations and are heartfelt and real. The production talents of Chriss and the lineup of truly great musicians, deliver an album of depth and variation which ranges from driving guitar-led tracks with memorable riffs to melodic anthems, all backed by stunning keys, bass and standout solos. It is an album that is a worthy follow-up to the critically acclaimed “7”.

Hevidence release debut album ‘Nobody’s Fault’ in December

Frontiers Music Srl announces the release of Hevidence’s debut album, “Nobody’s Fault” on December 2, 2016.

Hevidence is the brainchild of Italian guitar player Diego Reali, founding member of Italian Prog Metal masters DGM. After he left the band in 2006, he started dabbling in some different musical styles, but his heart called for him to get back to metal! Thus Hevidence were born and Diego joined up with DGM bass player Andrea Arcangeli, singer Corrado Quoiani and drummer Emiliano Bonini.

“This band is highly inspired by the classic hard and heavy sounds from the ’70s and ’80s, that’s why we worked hard to make this album sound the most vintage that was possible,” tells Diego. “We are convinced that a huge dose of improvisation during the recording sessions is needed for the success of an original product. Everyone of us has many different musical influences and they came out in a very spontaneous way within the song writing process, we just believe in the word “ROCK”!!!”

Hevidence offer a mature and personal vision of hard rock and metal with a style reminiscent of the classic Official Yngwie Malmsteen albums mixed with power metal and melodic hard rock influences (think early Europe).

An EPK where you can learn more about the band and hear song samples is here:https://youtu.be/TDzEVFY27Yc

The band will be launching the album with a special “Release Party” show in Roma at the JAILBREAK LiveClub on December 1st. For more info:http://www.jailbreakliveclub.it/

Dario Mollo’s Crossbones unleash ‘Rock The Cradle’ in December

Frontiers Music Srl is pleased to announce the release of Dario Mollo’s CROSSBONES new album, “Rock the Cradle” on December 2nd.

Best known for his partnerships in the The Cage with Tony Martin (ex-Black Sabbath) and Voodoo Hill with Glenn Hughes (Black Country Communion, Deep Purple, California Breed), Italian guitarist Dario Mollo began his career in 1981 with the band CROSSBONES. With them, he released his first studio album in 1989, which was produced by Kit Woolven (Thin Lizzy Official, MAGNUM and UFO, among others) before getting involved in the production side of things himself.

For this new CROSSBONES album, the Italian axeman brought back original drummer, Ezio Secomandi with the line-up completed by his regular collaborator Dario Patti on bass and keyboards. The choice for the singer was Carl Sentance (Nazareth, Don Airey Band, Persian Risk, KROKUSonline), who came at the suggestion of Don Airey of Deep Purple, during a recent visit to Dario’s home.

“I think this record has a strong identity and character,” tells Dario. “It is a mature production and the songs range on many styles of hard rock and classic heavy metal, but every song has a catchy chorus. I also think this album shows how much I liked working with Carl. He is easily one of the best singers I have ever worked with. I am certain our cooperation will not end with this cd!” concludes Dario. The quality of the material presented here is witness to that statement.

“Rock the Cradle” tracklisting:

1. Red

2. Take Me High

3. Navigation

4. Rock The Cradle

5. Gates Of Time

Eternal Idol release their debut album ‘The Unrevealed Secret’ in December

Frontiers Music Srl is pleased to announce the upcoming release of ETERNAL IDOL’s debut album, entitled “The Unrevealed Secret”, on December 2nd

Eternal Idol is a new band formed in early 2016 and that marks the start of a new musical adventure for Rhapsody Of Fire and Angra singer Fabio Lione, together with the experienced Italian guitar player Nick Savio (exHOLLOW HAZE Official Page) and a line-up completed by the young vocal rising star Giorgia Colleluori, Camillo Colleluori (both also from Hollow Haze) on drums and Andrea Buratto (Secret Sphere, Hell in the Club) on bass.

While all the musicians have solid pedigrees and musical history behind them, ETERNAL IDOL have a brand new and original sound which will certainly catch many fans by surprise. Fabio Lione says, “[a]fter all the experiences with bands such as KAMELOT, Rhapsody of Fire, Angra and many more, I think it is time to show the world a new side of myself with this amazing new band. Musically, ETERNAL IDOL offer an intriguing mix of classic metal, symphonic rock and a few progressive twists which is truly unique, thanks to the combination of female and male vocals.”

Fabio took care of most of the lyrics and vocal melodies, along with three gorgeous tracks he wrote, while Nick Savio worked hard on songwriting and arrangements. “The Unrevealed Secret” is the album where all our ideas came to the light,” says the axeman from Vicenza. “Heavy classic rock with symphonic elements and the magic atmosphere of two lead vocals, male and female, create a contrast between good and bad as the main subject, as it is possible to see on the impressive and mysterious cover artwork.”

The album was recorded in the summer of 2016, produced by Nick Savio and mixed by Simone Mularoni (DGM, Sunstorm) and promises to be one of the melodic metal releases of the year. Fans of Kamelot, Magnus Karlsson’s Free Fall, MasterPlan, and Avantasia should pay attention.

“There is a story to be told with this album, and the secret will be revealed on the next Eternal Idol releases, so please take your time to listen this first chapter and enjoy….A new story has begun,” Nick concludes.

Slipknot Singer Trashes ‘Petty,’ ‘Ridiculous’ Kiss Drama

Slipknot vs. Kiss
Lisa Maree Williams / Kevin Winter, Getty Images

The battle over who deserves to wear the Kiss makeup has gotten so big that now even bands who wear masks have gotten involved.

Singer Corey Taylor, frontman for Slipknot and Stone Sour and longtime Kiss fan, used a recent interview to weigh in on the ongoing controversy over whether former members Ace Frehley and Peter Criss should be allowed to perform with the band when it’s inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Unsurprisingly, he thinks everyone involved should just let bygones be bygones.

“It’s like, can you guys just put aside your petty issues and realize that without one another you wouldn’t have been able to do this? Can you just set stuff aside and do one show for the fans as the original lineup again? And then you never have to see each other again!” urged Taylor, adding that remaining co-founders Gene Simmons and Paul Stanley “wouldn’t be where they are” without Frehley and Criss. “That’s just me layin’ it straight,” he shrugged. “I might not ever get a kind word from anybody in that band anymore. But I think it’s petty and I think it’s ridiculous! Figure it out! Show respect, because sometimes it’s not about you, it’s about the fans.”

All that said, Taylor admitted that he understands the way personality conflicts can destroy a band. “It’s just one of those things, that’s how far off the reservation sometimes we get,” he nodded. “You gotta remember, we’re musicians…we’re just crazy people who can’t get along sometimes. I’ve definitely come to the table with my knife in my pocket a couple of times, you know how it is. It’s part of being human. Now, add fame and money and all that rock and roll craziness to it. We’re lucky we don’t eat each other in this industry!”

Taylor, who’s readying a return to the studio with Slipknot, also recently made time for an appearance on the upcoming Ronnie James Dio tribute album, ‘This Is Your Life,’ contributing a cover of ‘Rainbow in the Dark’ that you can hear right here.

Slipknot / Stone Sour Vocalist Corey Taylor Appears in Trailer for ‘Fear Clinic’

http://player.theplatform.com/p/spe-fearnet/7kOUwK6Qokxn/select/J4O0v8GMxB5J

Being a member of Slipknot inherently lends itself to some sort of connection with horror. Back in 2012, Slipknot percussionist Shawn ‘Clown’ Crahan played ‘The Tamer’ in the low-budget horror film ‘The Devil’s Carnival,’ so this makes Corey Taylor the second Slipknot member to act in a fright film.

Corey Taylor has lived through some horrifying ordeals in his own life, as documented in the memoir ‘A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to Heaven.’

Starring Robert Englund (aka Freddie Krueger), ‘Fear Clinic’ is about “a doctor [who] works to cure patients suffering from crippling phobias by placing them inside his invention which induces and controls hallucinations.” The film’s plot sounds pretty bad ass, and the film’s trailer looks top-notch. Taylor plays Bauer, an employee of the clinic who struggles to keep things under control when all hell breaks loose. Taylor only appears briefly, but the entire trailer is worth checking out.

Check out the trailer for ‘Fear Clinic’ above via FearNet.

What If ‘the Walking Dead’ Was Recast With Rock + Metal Musicians?

The Walking Dead

Tremendously successful zombie drama ‘The Walking Dead‘ will return to AMC this Sunday (Feb. 9) with a new batch of blood-soaked episodes. We couldn’t be more pumped to immerse ourselves into the second half of Season 4, but what if the show started back from the beginning with a cast entirely made up of your favorite rock and metal musicians?

If you’re not caught up on every episode of ‘The Walking Dead,’ no worries. We’ve kept this post almost entirely spoiler-free. However, if you don’t want a few little details spoiled, think twice before reading the text portion of this post.

Disregarding whether or not a character from the show is currently alive, dead or AWOL, we’ve selected the series’ essential roles and stuck a musician in their shoes. On that note, please enjoy our vision of ‘The Walking Dead’ recast by some of rock and metal’s greatest talents!

Rick Grimes Played by Corey Taylor (Slipknot / Stone Sour):

Corey Taylor
AMC / Facebook: Corey Taylor

The ‘Walking Dead’ crew needs a leader, so why not recruit the frontman of two massively popular bands? If you’ve listened to Slipknot‘s music, namely ‘Disasterpiece,’ you know that Corey Taylor is familiar with the concept of killing people. What better excuse to lop off some heads than a zombie apocalypse? Taylor would be a great selection to play Sheriff Rick Grimes, and if Andrew Lincoln can turn his British accent into a Georgian one, it’s even less of a stretch for Corey Taylor to make the trip from Iowa to the South.

Daryl Dixon Played by Scott Weiland (Stone Temple Pilots / Velvet Revolver):

Scott Weiland
AMC / Ethan Miller, Getty Images

The character of Daryl Dixon is a troubled, antisocial rebel, and Norman Reedus’ portrayal of Daryl has led to the birth of television’s greatest zombie-killing ass kicker. Somewhat disheveled with a five-o-clock shadow and wispy hair, former Stone Temple Pilots / Velvet Revolver singer Scott Weiland already looks the part. However, before tackling the role, Weiland must begin his character development by taking archery classes and crafting shelter in the woods while strictly living off roadkill.

Glenn Rhee Played by Kyo (Dir en Grey):

Kyo
AMC / Facebook: Dir en Grey

Although timid and soft spoken, the character of Glenn Rhee can become a dangerous man if provoked. These sensibilities fit Dir en Grey‘s music perfectly, so why not cast vocalist Kyo for the part? Kyo already looks like he could mow down a hoard of walkers, plus using the power of his voice, Kyo can hit notes so violently high that he could cause zombie heads to immediately explode.

Maggie Green Played by Lzzy Hale (Halestorm):

Lzzy Hale
AMC / Facebook: Halestorm

She was just a good ol’ farm girl with the purest of hearts until zombies began to overrun her home. Now she wields assault rifles to fight off biters and other intruders. The transition of Maggie Green lines up with that of Halestorm‘s Lzzy Hale, who morphs into the persona of Mz. Hyde when it comes time to conduct business. Hale famously sings, “Love bites, but so do I,” so worst case scenario, she’d transform into a very accomplished walker.

Carl Grimes Played by Oli Sykes (Bring Me the Horizon):

Oli Sykes
AMC / Simone Joyner, Getty Images

Bring Me the Horizon vocalist Oli Sykes may need a few extra hours in the makeup chair to hide those tattoos if he wants to play the young Carl Grimes, but it couldn’t be any more difficult than transforming normal human beings into half-dead, slobbering freaks. The fresh-faced Sykes is 27 years old, but with a little CGI and television magic, we think Sykes could pass for a 14-year-old in ‘The Walking Dead.’

Michonne Played by Alexis Brown (Straight Line Stitch):

Alexis Brown
AMC / Facebook: Straight Line Stitch

This was an easy choice. The samurai sword-wielding Michonne is the deadliest woman on the planet, so we need one of metal’s most imposing women to fit the role. Alexis Brown of Straight Line Stitch can blast out some deep gutturals and high shrieks while looking like a warrior in the process. Brown even rocked some dreadlocks of her own in the past, so give her a sword and point her towards the undead.

Hershel Greene Played by John Campbell (Lamb of God):

John Campbell
AMC / Facebook: Lamb of God

The character of Hershel Greene is a veterinarian and devoted Christian, so it’s only fate that a member of Lamb of God play Hershel in our recasting of ‘The Walking Dead.’ White-haired Lamb of God bassist John Campbell is the obvious choice when casting for Hershel, and since Campbell is a vegetarian, any animal on Hershel’s farm only needs to worry about one type of carnivorous creature.

The Governor Played by Trent Reznor (Nine Inch Nails):

Oh boy, it’s time to cast The Governor. We were introduced to The Gov in Season 3 of ‘The Walking Dead,’ and he quickly became a fan favorite along with one of the most psychotic characters in recent TV history. Dark, disturbed and menacing, we’ve chosen Nine Inch Nails mastermind Trent Reznor to play the role. The Governor may have a grim collection of zombie heads, but that’s child’s play compared to Nine Inch Nails’ video for ‘Happiness in Slavery.’

Carol Peletier Played by Joan Jett:

Portrayed by Melissa McBride in ‘The Walking Dead,’ Carol Peletier has proven to be one of the most fascinating characters throughout the show’s four seasons. We need a strong woman to play Carol, so we’re drafting rock icon Joan Jett. The female pioneer has rocked the short-haired look in the past, striking a resemblance to Carol. Plus, if Joan Jett just happens to stumble upon a guitar during a zombie raid, we’d be gifted with some amazing head-smashing scenes.

Shane Walsh Played by Frank Bello (Anthrax):

Anthrax bassist Frank Bello is one of the nicest guys in metal, but if you’ve seen Anthrax live, you know a true thrash machine holds down the low-end for the band. Bello will have to unleash his violent side if he wants to play sheriff’s deputy Shane Walsh. “I Am the Law!” The bassist would start off as Corey Taylor’s right-hand man, but as the series continues, we think Bello could transform into someone dangerous to both walkers and the fully living.

Andrea Played by Angela Gossow (Arch Enemy):

She looks sweet on the outside, and she certainly is, but Andrea is a masterful ass-kicker in ‘The Walking Dead.’ Is there a female vocalist who balances those two characteristics better than Arch Enemy‘s Angela Gossow? Nope! Metalheads absolutely love Gossow, a pioneer of women in death metal. What we wouldn’t give to see Angela blast away some zombie heads…

Lori Grimes Played by Sharon den Adel (Within Temptation):

The beautiful wife of Rick and desire of Shane needs to be graceful, yet passively deadly. For this role, we’re recruiting Within Temptation vocalist Sharon den Adel. The voice of Sharon den Adel could lure in any man (or walker), but there’s a sense of quiet danger to the singer, much like Lori Grimes. The character of Lori is somewhat of a black widow to certain men in ‘The Walking Dead,’ and we’re sure den Adel could tap into that sensibility perfectly.

Merle Dixon Played by Philip Anselmo (Pantera / Down):

Phil Anselmo
AMC / Jimmy Hubbard

Here’s an essential piece of casting. Perhaps the most dangerous character to ever side with the “good guys,” Merle Dixon was even able to capture the seemingly indestructible Michonne at one point. The back-woods older brother of Daryl is constantly, shall we say, f—ing hostile, so we’re throwing Philip Anselmo into Merle’s shoes (and arm bayonet) for this recasting of ‘The Walking Dead.’ We’re sure Anselmo could harness his boxing abilities and confrontational disposition to emulate Michael Rooker’s portrayal of Merle while leaving piles of dead meat behind him in the process.
