Tracii Guns and Phil Lewis reunite LA Guns and release new album in 2017

Frontiers Music Srl is delighted to welcome the reunion of Tracii Guns And Phil Lewis as L.A. GUNS to the label for the release of a brand new album set for release in the summer of 2017.

After a nearly 15 year break, Philip Lewis and Tracii Guns are back together for another chapter in their partnership that began in 1986, four years after Tracii formed L.A. Guns in 1982.

Their writing partnership spawned classic L.A. GUNS songs such as “Sex Action”, “Never Enough”, “Electric Gypsy”, “The Ballad Of Jayne”, and countless more in an impressive catalog of fan favorites. The last time Lewis and Guns joined forces was back in 2000 with legendary producer Andy Johns for the making of what would become “Waking The Dead” – an album that went on to receive tremendous critical acclaim and proved that their musical partnership was every bit as strong as the early days with all-killer-no-filler songs including “Don’t Look At Me That Way”, “Hellraisers Ball”, and “The Ballad”.

“I think we owe it to our fans who have stuck with us during the many ups and downs of the band’s long and checkered career,” says Lewis. “Tracii and I have written the songs to the soundtrack of many people’s lives, and I think it’s definitely worth investigating to see if the magic is still there.”

As for Guns, he’s been compiling song ideas over the last year and promises this one will be one of the band’s heaviest records, simply stating, “It’s good to be home.”

The band has already confirmed a bunch of UK shows in early 2017 and two shows at the legendary Whisky A Go-Go in Los Angeles, CA with more surprises to be announced soon!

Seven – ‘Fight’ official music video

“Fight”, is taken from SEVEN’s new album Shattered, which is released today (September 23rd), by UK label Escape Music Ltd. “Fight” was co-written with well known songwriter Jeff Paris (Mr. Big, Vixen, Y&T, Paul Stanley).

The roots of SEVEN can be traced back to the late ’80s/early ’90s in South Africa, of all places. At the time, Keith McFarlane and the brothers Simon and John LeFevre were in a band called FACE TO FACE, while Mick Devine was drummer in another band, called UC27. After releasing several singles and one album in a period of 18 months, FACE TO FACE split and the brothers LeFevre returned to the U.K. After a few months, they decided to reform the band and Mick was asked to join them in the U.K. as their drummer. It wasn’t before long that the brothers discovered that Mick was actually a better singer than drummer, and so Mick became the band’s lead vocalist. A couple of years later, they were joined by Pat Davey on bass and Austin Lane on drums and the band name was changed to SEVEN.

The AOR scene in the late eighties was a thriving hive of activity. At the turn of the new decade, the likes of Mitch Malloy, Paul Laine, FIREHOUSE, TYKETTO and TALISMAN were all signed up and ready to make an impact on the genre. Everybody wanted an AOR band, and Polydor Records was no exception. Having been fairly successful in the U.K with the likes of MAGNUM and LITTLE ANGELS, the label had set their sights on SEVEN, which at the time was a relatively unknown act from Bournemouth.

SEVEN toured extensively supporting an eclectic variety of acts that included the likes of Jason Donovan, Richard Marx, THE MONKEES and BROTHER BEYOND. It’s a time period that Mick Devine is keen to reminisce about. “Even though they were out and out pop gigs, we loved the crowds and the noise,” he says. “We went from pubs to opening to 3000 screaming fans in Southampton. It is a very addictive adrenaline rush. We got to play all the top venues, which were fantastic — including Wembley Arena, the NEC, BIC, SEC and even the Royal Albert Hall. The Richard Marx tour was definitely the best for us with a more grown up audience we were able to rock it up and truly be ourselves. It went down really well!”

With John Parr as producer, they recorded two very strong singles in the shape of “Inside Love” and “Man With A Vision”, both of which achieved moderate success in the U.K.

In 2014, the original bass player Pat Davey was working alongside Robert Hart on an Escape Music album when the name SEVEN cropped up in the conversation. It would seem that Khalil Turk was a big fan, as Devine explains. “Yeah, back in the day, Khalil had really loved the band and he got in touch to see if we would be interested in finally releasing an album,” he says. Without too much convincing, the project was born.

The production talents of Lars Chriss (the LION’S SHARE guitarist whose repertoire includes albums with Steve Overland, Chris Ousey, LUGNET, NIVA and RADIOACTIVE) were enlisted to produce the band’s debut album, called “7”, which was released to critical acclaim and was held up as one of the “albums of the year” on many lists.

Following the success of the first album, a passion was rekindled within Devine and McFarlane, who began work on new material, and along with the writing talents of Lars Chriss, Fredrik Bergh (BLOODBOUND, ROB MORATTI, STREET TALK), Andy Loos (LION’S SHARE, GLORY, CHRIS OUSEY), Kay Backlund (LION’S SHARE, NIVA) and Jeff Paris (MR. BIG, Y&T, VIXEN, RADIOACTIVE), that passion was given focus and a place to come to life. What they discovered was a well of untapped creativity that had been hidden for far too long and the songs poured out.

SEVEN’s “Shattered” is a collection of wonderfully catchy songs that rely on clean and memorable melodies that allow Devine’s distinctive voice to shine through. It was Devine who took the lead in writing the lyrics on this album, matching the intensity and feel of the music to deliver a modern melodic rock album with influences ranging from hints of FOREIGNER in “A Better Life” and “Broken Dream”, JOURNEY in “High Hopes” and even traces of MAGNUM in “Light Of 1000 Eyes” and “Last Illusion”. The lyrical themes are drawn from a depth of life experience and observations and are heartfelt and real. The production talents of Chriss and the lineup of truly great musicians, deliver an album of depth and variation which ranges from driving guitar-led tracks with memorable riffs to melodic anthems, all backed by stunning keys, bass and standout solos. It is an album that is a worthy follow-up to the critically acclaimed “7”.

Hevidence release debut album ‘Nobody’s Fault’ in December

Frontiers Music Srl announces the release of Hevidence’s debut album, “Nobody’s Fault” on December 2, 2016.

Hevidence is the brainchild of Italian guitar player Diego Reali, founding member of Italian Prog Metal masters DGM. After he left the band in 2006, he started dabbling in some different musical styles, but his heart called for him to get back to metal! Thus Hevidence were born and Diego joined up with DGM bass player Andrea Arcangeli, singer Corrado Quoiani and drummer Emiliano Bonini.

“This band is highly inspired by the classic hard and heavy sounds from the ’70s and ’80s, that’s why we worked hard to make this album sound the most vintage that was possible,” tells Diego. “We are convinced that a huge dose of improvisation during the recording sessions is needed for the success of an original product. Everyone of us has many different musical influences and they came out in a very spontaneous way within the song writing process, we just believe in the word “ROCK”!!!”

Hevidence offer a mature and personal vision of hard rock and metal with a style reminiscent of the classic Official Yngwie Malmsteen albums mixed with power metal and melodic hard rock influences (think early Europe).

An EPK where you can learn more about the band and hear song samples is here:https://youtu.be/TDzEVFY27Yc

The band will be launching the album with a special “Release Party” show in Roma at the JAILBREAK LiveClub on December 1st. For more info:http://www.jailbreakliveclub.it/

Dario Mollo’s Crossbones unleash ‘Rock The Cradle’ in December

Frontiers Music Srl is pleased to announce the release of Dario Mollo’s CROSSBONES new album, “Rock the Cradle” on December 2nd.

Best known for his partnerships in the The Cage with Tony Martin (ex-Black Sabbath) and Voodoo Hill with Glenn Hughes (Black Country Communion, Deep Purple, California Breed), Italian guitarist Dario Mollo began his career in 1981 with the band CROSSBONES. With them, he released his first studio album in 1989, which was produced by Kit Woolven (Thin Lizzy Official, MAGNUM and UFO, among others) before getting involved in the production side of things himself.

For this new CROSSBONES album, the Italian axeman brought back original drummer, Ezio Secomandi with the line-up completed by his regular collaborator Dario Patti on bass and keyboards. The choice for the singer was Carl Sentance (Nazareth, Don Airey Band, Persian Risk, KROKUSonline), who came at the suggestion of Don Airey of Deep Purple, during a recent visit to Dario’s home.

“I think this record has a strong identity and character,” tells Dario. “It is a mature production and the songs range on many styles of hard rock and classic heavy metal, but every song has a catchy chorus. I also think this album shows how much I liked working with Carl. He is easily one of the best singers I have ever worked with. I am certain our cooperation will not end with this cd!” concludes Dario. The quality of the material presented here is witness to that statement.

“Rock the Cradle” tracklisting:

1. Red

2. Take Me High

3. Navigation

4. Rock The Cradle

5. Gates Of Time

6. I Got This Feeling

7. In My Blood

EXCLUSIVE! AOR and Hard Rock News on 09/06/2014

GREGORY LYNN HALL MAKES SOLO DEBUT JULY 25:
AOR Heaven will release Gregory Lynn Hall’s debut solo album Heaven To Earth July 25.
Gregory Lynn Hall, Southern California solo artist and singer for 101 South has had a long history in the music industry, in all areas from studio work to live shows. Gregory started off his music career singing gospel songs on his grandma’s piano bench with his 2 other cousins, doing harmonies when he was 3 years old. As an instrumentalist Gregory started playing drums and soon moved on to guitar, then bass and keyboards, producer, etc… finding his nitch in the late 70s.
Gregory helped polish the band Rat Sally in the early 80s and pounded the Hollywood scene playing at all the rock venues, from Gazzaris to the Troubadour, The Country Club-playing many gigs with Bands like Poison, Warrant, all the 80s rockers, hanging out with the typical Hollywood Rocker crowd. After the Seattle grunge sound came and changed the whole music scene, the musician moved to the mid-west where he found many new opportunities in Nashville (the whole mid-west region). He became a well sought after session vocalist, singing on many well known Christian artist’s albums including Carman and one of the most sought after jingle, commercial vocalists in the mid-west, with many local and national Jingles under his belt.

In the late 90s the artist returned to California and found himself reuniting with Rat Sally and going in the studio to record a new EP. Following that, a reunion gig at the world famous Pelicans retreated in 1995. Gregory kept busy doing session work for the next few years. In 1999 while doing a session in Malibu, he met Roger Scott Craig and was asked to do some demos and 101 South was born. Shortly after the first 101 South album (2000) was finished, Gregory was asked to join the band Heaven And Earth (Stuart Smith, Richie Onori, Kelly Keeling), as their bass player and toured with them to support the “Windows to the World” album, culminating with an All Star filled show for the orphans of 911 in Hollywood.
Gregory has had the honor of performing on stage, and working with; Keith Emerson (ELP), Gary Richrath (REO), Howard Leese (Heart), Carmine Appice (Vanilla Fudge), Spencer Davis, Steve Priest (Sweet), Craig Goldy (Guiffria, Dio, Budgie), Stuart Smith (Heaven and Earth, Sweet), Richie Onori (Rick Derringer, ELP, Heaven and Earth), Kelly Keeling (Blue Murder, Lynch Mob), Don Cromwell (Eddie Money, Air Supply) and many other world class musicians. Gregory has also had the pleasure of working in some of the be st studios in the world, Indigo Ranch, Malibu ca.-The Church Studio, Tulsa Ok. Gregory has also worked with Eddie Money in the studio and teamed up with Roger Scott Craig to make another 101 SOUTH album in 2002 called Roll Of The Dice that made many top 10 lists in Europe. In Oct. 2008 they finished recording their 3rd 101 South album with a couple world class guest musicians incl. Ian Bairnson (PILOT, Allan Parsons Project) and Chris Thompson (Manfred Mann, Blinded by the light).

Gregory has just finished recording a solo album entitled “Heaven To Earth” which comes along with a little harder edge than 101 South. The album was recorded in Las Vegas at “The Hall Closet Studio” and mastered by Mike Turner at “The Chicken Shack” in Chattsworth, California.
Line-up: Gregory Lynn Hall, all Vocals, Guitars, Bass, Drums, Keyboards, Harmonica. Guest Drummer: Bandit Bellamia.

FOZZY TO RELEASE NEW FULL-LENGTH STUDIO ALBUM ‘DO YOU WANNA START A WAR’ JULY 25:
Fozzy have announced they will release their highly anticipated, new full-length studio album ‘Do You Wanna Start A War’ (Century Media Records) in Australia and New Zealand on July 25th! Fans can now pre-order the 12-track album at iTunes and receive an instant download of the song “One Crazed Anarchist.” Preview the track now and watch the new lyric video premiering exclusively at Revolver. Recently, the band unveiled a new lyric video for the debut single “Lights Go Out,” which shows the band in a stunning new light. Fozzy have just finished a U.S. run performing at festivals across the country including Rock on the Range, Carolina Rebellion, and Rockfest along with many other shows. Fozzy will be performing June 14 in the U.K. on the main stage of the Download Festival.
Led by the inimitable duo of guitarist Rich Ward (co-founder of the influential underground band Stuck Mojo) and vocalist Chris Jericho (famed WWE superstar and media personality), the band Fozzy has really always been about one thing: having fun. Produced by Ward ‘Do You Wanna Start A War’ is the bands follow-up to their acclaimed 2012 release ‘Sin and Bones’ and sixth studio effort since 2000. Featuring 12-tracks, the new album includes the debut single “Lights Go Out,” alongside the title track and the return of the Theremin in “Bad Tattoo.” As described by Corey Taylor of Slipknot and Stone Sour, “Do You Wanna Start A War is dark, dense and sharp. Sonically and lyrically, this feels like it’s going somewhere big. I love it!”

What started out for guitarist Rich Ward as a weekend cover band, called Fozzy Osbourne, soon became an internationally signed act with the biggest star in professional wrestling, Chris Jericho, as its lead singer. With adopted stage names and an elaborate backstory written for the movies, the band’s early recordings consisted mainly of cover songs ranging from Black Sabbath and Dio, to Iron Maiden and Mцtley Crьe. Jericho’s singing ability and overall passion for music makes one wonder just how he is able to find the time to excel in pretty much everything he does, while Ward counting Zakk Wylde and Synyster Gates as fans, is probably one of the greatest, and unjustly so, underrated guitarists in rock and metal today. It was these qualities that pushed the band to drop alter egos get rid of the backstory and write original music.

Over the course of the next seven years, the band did just that; three albums worth to be exact. The records were fit in between Jericho’s wrestling, TV and writing career. It wasn’t until their last release ‘Sin and Bones’ though that the band really started to hit their stride. Jericho was winding down his involvement with sports, the band was touring more than ever before and their live show was as strong as ever sharing the stage with such music luminaries as Metallica, Avenged Sevenfold, Steel Panther, Shinedown, and many others. The entertainment, the fun factor, the showmanship were all there and in full force. More so than any point in the bands’ career.
By the time ‘Do You Wanna Start A War’ is released, a horde of seasoned and newfound fans will have seen Fozzy live and heard new tracks off the album. They will have witnessed one of the greatest performances they’ve ever seen, they will have witnessed one of the best frontman in any genre of music sing some of the catchiest songs they’ve heard in ages and most importantly, they will have had the best time in their lives doing it.
Fozzy is Chris Jericho on vocals, Rich Ward on guitars and vocals, Frank Fontsere on drums, Billy Grey on guitars, and Paul Di Leo on bass.

FOZZY‘Do You Wanna Start A War’ tracklisting: Do You Wanna Start A War, Bad Tattoo, Lights Go Out, Died With You, Tonite, Brides of Fire, One Crazed Anarchist, Unstoppable, Scarecrow, No Good Way, SOS, Witchery.

NEW HELLYEAH ALBUM BLOOD FOR BLOOD OUT JUNE 6:
Readying for a June 6 album release, Hellyeah – featuring Mudvayne’s Chad Gray oon vocals, Pantera’s Vinnie Paul on drums and Nothingface’s Tom Maxwell on guitar – has brought a new level of auudio fury to its new music. Having parted ways with Greg Tribbett and Bob Zilla, the band has taken on Kyle Sanders (Bloodsimple) on bass.
Blood For Blood is a welcome return to form. It leaves a mark, thanks to songs like the angular, vengeful “DMF,” a song birthed by the sort of anger that can’t be faked; it will leave you wondering who pissed these guys off. “Gift” is dirty, rowdy rock with equal parts groove and swagger, but also possessed of the sort of punk rock energy that would make Motorhead fans turns their heads. Then there is moodier, more contemplative fare like “Moth” or “Hush,” which connect on an emotional, cellular level, proving that you can be incredibly heavy in ways other than loud and fast. The album sounds like a re-charged Hellyeah, taken up many notches.
Track Listing: 1. Sangre Por Sangre (Blood For Blood) 2. Demons In The Dirt 3. Soul Killer 4. Moth 5. Cross To Bier (Cradle Of Bones) 6. DMF 7. Gift 8. Hush 9. Say When 10. Black December.

W.A.S.P. Releasing New Studio Album Next Year

W.A.S.P. will be returning with a new studio album entitled Golgotha next year, one that founder and frontman Blackie Lawless says will sound similar to 2009’s ‘Babylon’ and 2007’s ‘Dominator’.

“We’re about three weeks away from finishing the next one, so it will be out next year and it will be called Golgotha,” Lawless announced at a Sweden Rock Festival press conference. “Golgotha is Hebrew for place of the skull and it’s the hill where Christ was crucified. It’s interesting when you see a lot of bands going around using Satanic images, or images of death and things like that, and I’m thinking all they need to do is look at the source cause it’s right there. If you want death, there’s enough to go around there.

As for what fans can expect musically from ‘Golgotha’, Lawless says, “It sounds… probably more similar to the last two that we’ve done. We’ve been working on this thing for four years now, and I don’t know if you guys heard but I had a little hiccup last year, and that delayed recording for about a year. I broke my leg — that too was an interesting trip (laughs). There’s one thing I learned when I was doing The Crimson Idol. If you make a record over too long of peroids of time you have to be very, very careful because the record you start out making is not the record you end up finishing because you’ve changed so much as a person over a three or four year peroid. You’ve got to be very careful to hold onto that vison. But from what I’m hearing so far, and it’s not completely mixed yet, but it has definite overtones of the last two records.”

Lawless also addressed his decision to stop playing the W.A.S.P. classic “Animal (Fucks Like A Beast” by saying, “”I look at it like this. I’m a representative of the most high God, and I have to be very careful about the things I say and do. I’m gonna answer one day for the things that I’ve done and I wanna make sure that when I do, that my slate is clean. But equally as import as that I think, is I’ve been given an opportunity to stand in front of people and you’re either gonna say something positive or you’re gonna say something midnless –there is no in between. You’re either one or the other. And I’m just trying my best, and I’m not saying that I’m doing it all the time, but I’m trying my best to say something that I think could help somebody’s life.”

Oh Captive drop new video and stand alone single

Rising Bristol post-punk quartet ‘Oh Captive’ have nationally unleashed their debut EP ‘Advance Creature’ and they now charge forward with their brand new stand alone video single ‘Tricking Us’ on Monday 12th May, view it at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8-MwVnpTwbY

Originally formed less than two years ago, Oh Captive cut their teeth with countless hours in grimy rehearsal rooms before BBC Devon Introducing beckoned in early 2013. By the year’s end, Oh Captive had shared stages across the UK with Sonic Boom Six, Straight Lines, Max Raptor, Sharks, Blitz Kidz, I Divide and Scholars. The foursome fully honed their songs in the live arena in anticipation for completing a debut EP that would prove to startle and sparkle in equal measure.

Zoltar Speaks release new video single from debut album

Rising female-fronted Brit metal crew ‘Zoltar Speaks’ have just released their explosive debut album ‘Save As I Save’ and now the melodic metallers set loose their new video single ‘Nothing In The World’ on Monday 12th May.

Pulling from everyone from the likes of Avenged Sevenfold and Iron Maiden to Coheed and Cambria, Zoltar Speaks are here to shake your world with a sound that merges both fiery and majestic vocals with hearty riffs and elephantine choruses.

Formed in 2009 and bursting out of the rural plains of Somerset, Zoltar Speaks are fronted by enigmatic vocalist Louise Body, with Ben Dean hammering at the drums, Simon Roocroft providing the backbone on bass, and Daniel Pratt and Jason Coles shredding it up on the guitars. The unstoppable five-piece have built up an army of dedicated followers fuelled by extensive touring throughout Southern England and Wales where they notched up supports with Idiom and Malefice. The release of the band’s debut EP ‘Treatment’ further increased their national profile, and now with the launch of their new full length album ‘Save As I Save’, the ascending metal crew are set to soar.

The south west melodic metal crew’s debut album ‘Save As I Save’ features twelve stunning slabs of cutting metal and has already racked up critical acclaim from Big Cheese, Metal Hammer, Rocksound and Powerplay. Metal Hammer in particular have been very supportive of the band by placing a track from the record on their cover CD. The band now surge forward with the release of the video single ‘Nothing In The World’, out this May and the cut is destined to grace TV screens.

Canadian’s No Sinner release new video and announce UK tour dates

Canadian rockers NO SINNER have just launched the official video for their song Runnin’ to coincide with their “Save Your Soul”  UK Tour.  Watch the video on YouTube

In February 2014, Classic Rock Magazine listed No Sinner as one of their “Bands To Watch in 2014”.  Says Classic Rock, “Runnin’ hits notes of the Stooges and T-Rex just as comfortably as it has echoes of Etta James or The Supremes.”

Selected by Amazon UK for their 2014 “New and Emerging Artists” campaign, No Sinner follows in the footsteps of 2013’s featured bands (Haim, Daniel Avery and Chvrches).

The new video for Runnin’ is taken from the song of the same name, taken from debut album Boo Hoo Hoo, and precedes the band’s next single, Love Is A Madness,  released in the UK on May 26.

Metallica confirm Glastonbury and Sonisphere apperances

Metallica have added one more show to their European summer tour.   They had made no secret of the fact that there was still one live music festival on their wish list that had eluded them . . . until now!  It is with a great deal of pride that they announce they will be headlining the Pyramid Stage at  Glastonbury Festival on Saturday, June 28th!  The band said “There is such a vibe at Glastonbury and it’s maybe the most quintessentially English festival, so when we finally got that call to visit Worthy Farm, we just had to reply with a resounding “YES!” “Glastonbury is the largest green field festival in the world and over the forty plus years of its existence, a widely diverse group of artists have graced the stage including Paul McCartney, Oasis, David Bowie, U2, Muse, Stevie Wonder, Radiohead, Neil Young, Jay-Z and so many more.  We’re psyched and honored to be among the first hard rock bands to hit the Pyramid Stage and join this prestigious group.”  Michael Eavis commented  “Metallica are one of the most popular bands in the world! And they really are a phenomenal live act. This a band that can sell out stadiums in pretty much every country on the planet. From Newlyn to Newcastle on my travels, all through the years, people keep asking me, “When are Metallica going to play?” There’s a huge swathe of people who love Metallica to bits and just think they’re absolutely amazing. They’re worthy headliners!

As previously announced the band will also make a welcome return to the Sonisphere Festival at Knebworth House on Sunday July 6th.  As a special tribute to their fans, the multi-platinum award-winning band has introduced “Metallica By Request”, the ultimate interactive concert experience.

Fans who purchase tickets online will be invited to vote on the songs Metallica will play at the show – giving them the chance to help build their dream set list from 30+ years of Metallica’s material and close to 140 recorded songs to date. Metallica’s traditional 18-song set will include the 17 top voted songs and, as the band did not want to be left out of the fun, they get to vote for the 18th slot, which will be a brand new song. Visit http://www.metallica.com for more details on the voting process.

The band confirmed the Glastonbury appearance will not be a “By Request” night, “guess we’ll have to go back to writing the set list ourselves!  For those of you looking for the By Request show or a second dose of ‘Tallica, we will be just down the road a week later at Knebworth for Sonisphere Festival on July 6th, which we thought might be our only chance to visit the U.K. this summer until the Glastonbury call came in last week.  Hope to see you at both!”

They have scored several multi-platinum albums, including 1991’s Metallica (commonly referred to as “The Black Album”), which is the best selling album in history of Soundscan scanning 16 million albums in the United States alone. Their latest album, Death Magnetic, was certified platinum just six weeks after it debuted atop the Billboard Top 200 Album chart in October 2008. Death Magnetic charted at #1 in 32 countries. Metallica have also garnered numerous awards and accolades, including nine Grammy Awards, two American Music Awards, multiple MTV Video Music Awards, and were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2009. Most recently the band spent 18 months touring and developing the staging for their groundbreaking 3D feature film Metallica Through The Never. Last summer, Metallica unveiled a brand new stage in Mexico City that featured iconic elements that spanned its 30-year career and is featured in the film. They played eight shows to nearly 180,000 fans at the Sports Arena in Mexico City . Starring Dane DeHaan, the film features dazzling pyrotechnics, the most elaborate live-performance stage ever built, state-of-the-art 3D photography captured on up to 24 cameras simultaneously and pioneering and innovative sound mixing. Metallica Through The Never was the first feature film to be released exclusively by IMAX in all of its theaters. The film was released on DVD, Blu-ray, 3D Blu-ray, digitally, and V.O.D. FATAL SMILE – R.I.P.:
Fatal Smile’s Mr. Y announces the demise of the band:

“At some point in your life you’ll have to ‘kill your darlings’…and it’s with a heavy heart I have to inform you that I’m laying my dear band Fatal Smile to rest…in peace!

I sure know it’s a really bad timing with a new album to be released & we just kicked off our first show of the tour last nite & really sorry for letting the fans down that have bought tickets for the shows… But at a certain point in life you’ll have to make decisions if things are really worth doing it…?? I have come to that point when the answer is no, it’s no longer worth sacrificing everything in my life, my heart & soul just to keep the ‘FS-train’ rolling…It’s been an epic journey since I started the band back in 1995 & I had a blast doing it & ‘living the dream’…

A million thanks to all of you for your endless support & love during those ‘Fatal years’ & thanks to all the band members during this time…I will sure keep writing & playing music, that’s for sure!!!
Also the new album & last Fatal Smile album “White Trash Heroes” will be released as planned on April 25. A few signed copies of the album & ‘special packages’ is still available for pre-orders at: gmrmusic.bigcartel.com/artist/fatal-smile.
Take care & be well…Peace & Love, Yaksel Unutmaz aka ‘MR. Y’ / ‘Yxan’.

TOM PETTY SPREADS FULL MOON FEVER 25 YEARS AGO: INTHESTUDIO CELEBRATES ALBUM’S ANNIVERSARY:
Dallas, TX – April 16, 2014. North American syndicated Rock radio show and website InTheStudio: The Stories Behind History’s Greatest Rock Bands celebrates the highly contagious music of Tom Petty’s 1989 solo masterpiece Full Moon Fever on its 25th anniversary.
Two things happened after Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers’ 7th album Let Me Up (I’ve Had Enough) that would signal the next phase in Petty’s illustrious music career. First, the band toured as Bob Dylan’s live band. Second, while on tour, Petty would meet and become friends with ex-Beatle George Harrison and producer, former ELO founder Jeff Lynne, setting in motion the supergroup of Dylan, Harrison, Orbison, Lynne and Petty named The Traveling Wilburys.
In between the tours with Dylan and The Traveling Wilburys recording Tom Petty, with the help of producer/songwriter Jeff Lynne, would find magic recording his first solo album, his most successful album ever with hits, “Free Fallin’”, “I Won’t Back Down”, “Love is a Long Road”, “A Face in the Crowd”, “Yer So Bad”, “Runnin’ Down a Dream” and the Byrd’s tribute “Feel A Whole Lot Better”.
Petty recalls to InTheStudio host Redbeard the importance of his producer partnership with Jeff Lynne for Full Moon Fever.
“Jeff Lynne is the consummate record producer. There aren’t many anymore like that. He really knows what he’s talking about and he understands every aspect of the recording and what’s going to go on. He also understands the tune, the feel, the performer. All of those things you gotta have in your mind. He just somehow handles it so casually.”
Tom Petty ‘Full Moon Fever’ /InTheStudio interview is available now to Stream at: www.inthestudio.net/redbeards-blog/tom-petty-full-moon-fever-25th-anniversary.

Guns N’ Roses, Joan Jett, Korn + More to Rock 2014 Revolver Golden Gods Awards

Two legendary rockers will get their due at the 2014 Revolver Golden Gods Awards as Axl Rose will receive the Ronnie James Dio Lifetime Achievement Award and Joan Jett has been chosen to receive the Golden God Award this year’s event. Both musicians will also be part of a solid performance lineup that also includes leading nominee Korn.

The ceremony will take place at Los Angeles’ Club Nokia on April 23, with Guns N’ Roses, Joan Jett and the Blackhearts, Korn, A Day to RememberZakk Wylde and The Pretty Reckless among the initially announced performers for the event.

Alice Cooper, who won the 2011 Golden God Award for embodying the spirit of hard rock and metal, said of Joan Jett’s selection, “No one deserves this award MORE than Joan Jett. She’s never compromised who she is — she’s a rocker through and through. I wish some of the younger bands had the balls that Joan Jett does!” Cooper will be on hand to present Jett with the Golden God honor.

But the performances and specialty honors are only half of the fun of the Golden Gods Awards, as fans get to vote for the best in hard rock and metal and see their favorite acts rewarded during the ceremony. This year, the Best Guitarist Award has been renamed the Dimebag Darrell Best Guitarist Award in honor of the late Pantera great. Darrell’s brother and bandmate Vinnie Paul says, “I am very honored that Revolver is renaming the Best Guitarist Award after Dime! He was and always will be what heavy-metal guitar playing is all about. This award is given to the person with those special skills that sets them apart from others. Dime always went for it and I know he would be proud of the winner of this award. So go for it and may the best shredder win! Getcha pull!!”

Fans can currently vote for their favorites in all the categories at this location through April 4. To see the nominees in each category, check below. And for those wishing to attend the 2014 Revolver Golden Gods Awards, tickets go on sale this Friday at 10AM ET at this location.
