Tracii Guns and Phil Lewis reunite LA Guns and release new album in 2017

Frontiers Music Srl is delighted to welcome the reunion of Tracii Guns And Phil Lewis as L.A. GUNS to the label for the release of a brand new album set for release in the summer of 2017.

After a nearly 15 year break, Philip Lewis and Tracii Guns are back together for another chapter in their partnership that began in 1986, four years after Tracii formed L.A. Guns in 1982.

Their writing partnership spawned classic L.A. GUNS songs such as “Sex Action”, “Never Enough”, “Electric Gypsy”, “The Ballad Of Jayne”, and countless more in an impressive catalog of fan favorites. The last time Lewis and Guns joined forces was back in 2000 with legendary producer Andy Johns for the making of what would become “Waking The Dead” – an album that went on to receive tremendous critical acclaim and proved that their musical partnership was every bit as strong as the early days with all-killer-no-filler songs including “Don’t Look At Me That Way”, “Hellraisers Ball”, and “The Ballad”.

“I think we owe it to our fans who have stuck with us during the many ups and downs of the band’s long and checkered career,” says Lewis. “Tracii and I have written the songs to the soundtrack of many people’s lives, and I think it’s definitely worth investigating to see if the magic is still there.”

As for Guns, he’s been compiling song ideas over the last year and promises this one will be one of the band’s heaviest records, simply stating, “It’s good to be home.”

The band has already confirmed a bunch of UK shows in early 2017 and two shows at the legendary Whisky A Go-Go in Los Angeles, CA with more surprises to be announced soon!

Seven – ‘Fight’ official music video

“Fight”, is taken from SEVEN’s new album Shattered, which is released today (September 23rd), by UK label Escape Music Ltd. “Fight” was co-written with well known songwriter Jeff Paris (Mr. Big, Vixen, Y&T, Paul Stanley).

The roots of SEVEN can be traced back to the late ’80s/early ’90s in South Africa, of all places. At the time, Keith McFarlane and the brothers Simon and John LeFevre were in a band called FACE TO FACE, while Mick Devine was drummer in another band, called UC27. After releasing several singles and one album in a period of 18 months, FACE TO FACE split and the brothers LeFevre returned to the U.K. After a few months, they decided to reform the band and Mick was asked to join them in the U.K. as their drummer. It wasn’t before long that the brothers discovered that Mick was actually a better singer than drummer, and so Mick became the band’s lead vocalist. A couple of years later, they were joined by Pat Davey on bass and Austin Lane on drums and the band name was changed to SEVEN.

The AOR scene in the late eighties was a thriving hive of activity. At the turn of the new decade, the likes of Mitch Malloy, Paul Laine, FIREHOUSE, TYKETTO and TALISMAN were all signed up and ready to make an impact on the genre. Everybody wanted an AOR band, and Polydor Records was no exception. Having been fairly successful in the U.K with the likes of MAGNUM and LITTLE ANGELS, the label had set their sights on SEVEN, which at the time was a relatively unknown act from Bournemouth.

SEVEN toured extensively supporting an eclectic variety of acts that included the likes of Jason Donovan, Richard Marx, THE MONKEES and BROTHER BEYOND. It’s a time period that Mick Devine is keen to reminisce about. “Even though they were out and out pop gigs, we loved the crowds and the noise,” he says. “We went from pubs to opening to 3000 screaming fans in Southampton. It is a very addictive adrenaline rush. We got to play all the top venues, which were fantastic — including Wembley Arena, the NEC, BIC, SEC and even the Royal Albert Hall. The Richard Marx tour was definitely the best for us with a more grown up audience we were able to rock it up and truly be ourselves. It went down really well!”

With John Parr as producer, they recorded two very strong singles in the shape of “Inside Love” and “Man With A Vision”, both of which achieved moderate success in the U.K.

In 2014, the original bass player Pat Davey was working alongside Robert Hart on an Escape Music album when the name SEVEN cropped up in the conversation. It would seem that Khalil Turk was a big fan, as Devine explains. “Yeah, back in the day, Khalil had really loved the band and he got in touch to see if we would be interested in finally releasing an album,” he says. Without too much convincing, the project was born.

The production talents of Lars Chriss (the LION’S SHARE guitarist whose repertoire includes albums with Steve Overland, Chris Ousey, LUGNET, NIVA and RADIOACTIVE) were enlisted to produce the band’s debut album, called “7”, which was released to critical acclaim and was held up as one of the “albums of the year” on many lists.

Following the success of the first album, a passion was rekindled within Devine and McFarlane, who began work on new material, and along with the writing talents of Lars Chriss, Fredrik Bergh (BLOODBOUND, ROB MORATTI, STREET TALK), Andy Loos (LION’S SHARE, GLORY, CHRIS OUSEY), Kay Backlund (LION’S SHARE, NIVA) and Jeff Paris (MR. BIG, Y&T, VIXEN, RADIOACTIVE), that passion was given focus and a place to come to life. What they discovered was a well of untapped creativity that had been hidden for far too long and the songs poured out.

SEVEN’s “Shattered” is a collection of wonderfully catchy songs that rely on clean and memorable melodies that allow Devine’s distinctive voice to shine through. It was Devine who took the lead in writing the lyrics on this album, matching the intensity and feel of the music to deliver a modern melodic rock album with influences ranging from hints of FOREIGNER in “A Better Life” and “Broken Dream”, JOURNEY in “High Hopes” and even traces of MAGNUM in “Light Of 1000 Eyes” and “Last Illusion”. The lyrical themes are drawn from a depth of life experience and observations and are heartfelt and real. The production talents of Chriss and the lineup of truly great musicians, deliver an album of depth and variation which ranges from driving guitar-led tracks with memorable riffs to melodic anthems, all backed by stunning keys, bass and standout solos. It is an album that is a worthy follow-up to the critically acclaimed “7”.

Hevidence release debut album ‘Nobody’s Fault’ in December

Frontiers Music Srl announces the release of Hevidence’s debut album, “Nobody’s Fault” on December 2, 2016.

Hevidence is the brainchild of Italian guitar player Diego Reali, founding member of Italian Prog Metal masters DGM. After he left the band in 2006, he started dabbling in some different musical styles, but his heart called for him to get back to metal! Thus Hevidence were born and Diego joined up with DGM bass player Andrea Arcangeli, singer Corrado Quoiani and drummer Emiliano Bonini.

“This band is highly inspired by the classic hard and heavy sounds from the ’70s and ’80s, that’s why we worked hard to make this album sound the most vintage that was possible,” tells Diego. “We are convinced that a huge dose of improvisation during the recording sessions is needed for the success of an original product. Everyone of us has many different musical influences and they came out in a very spontaneous way within the song writing process, we just believe in the word “ROCK”!!!”

Hevidence offer a mature and personal vision of hard rock and metal with a style reminiscent of the classic Official Yngwie Malmsteen albums mixed with power metal and melodic hard rock influences (think early Europe).

An EPK where you can learn more about the band and hear song samples is here:https://youtu.be/TDzEVFY27Yc

The band will be launching the album with a special “Release Party” show in Roma at the JAILBREAK LiveClub on December 1st. For more info:http://www.jailbreakliveclub.it/

Dario Mollo’s Crossbones unleash ‘Rock The Cradle’ in December

Frontiers Music Srl is pleased to announce the release of Dario Mollo’s CROSSBONES new album, “Rock the Cradle” on December 2nd.

Best known for his partnerships in the The Cage with Tony Martin (ex-Black Sabbath) and Voodoo Hill with Glenn Hughes (Black Country Communion, Deep Purple, California Breed), Italian guitarist Dario Mollo began his career in 1981 with the band CROSSBONES. With them, he released his first studio album in 1989, which was produced by Kit Woolven (Thin Lizzy Official, MAGNUM and UFO, among others) before getting involved in the production side of things himself.

For this new CROSSBONES album, the Italian axeman brought back original drummer, Ezio Secomandi with the line-up completed by his regular collaborator Dario Patti on bass and keyboards. The choice for the singer was Carl Sentance (Nazareth, Don Airey Band, Persian Risk, KROKUSonline), who came at the suggestion of Don Airey of Deep Purple, during a recent visit to Dario’s home.

“I think this record has a strong identity and character,” tells Dario. “It is a mature production and the songs range on many styles of hard rock and classic heavy metal, but every song has a catchy chorus. I also think this album shows how much I liked working with Carl. He is easily one of the best singers I have ever worked with. I am certain our cooperation will not end with this cd!” concludes Dario. The quality of the material presented here is witness to that statement.

“Rock the Cradle” tracklisting:

1. Red

2. Take Me High

3. Navigation

4. Rock The Cradle

5. Gates Of Time

6. I Got This Feeling

7. In My Blood

8. Running From The Shadow

“After the release of “Sacrificium” we embarked on our longest Tour so far. Over 150 shows that took us around the globe. Through so many different countries and diverse cultures. Through so many different, yet inspiring dimensions. We brought back plenty of memories, sometimes just bits and pieces, but those stuck to our heads. And it made us see who we are and where we wanted to take our music. Made us fearless. Made us push our boundaries once more. Made us cross some so-called genre defining borders. Made us bundle all our trademarks and take them to the next level. All this makes the most colourful Xandria album so far. It contains our most heavy and most emotional moments. Again, producer Joost van den Broek did a phenomenal job capturing the atmosphere down to every detail. A Theater of musical Dimensions. Can’t wait to share the songs with you…”

Former Britny Fox Frontman Goes Country On New Single/Video

Former Britny Fox singer Dean Davidson has left his hair metal days far behind on the new country themed song “Wouldn’t Change A Thing”, the first single from the frontman’s upcoming ‘Different Roads’ album.

The Americana/folk/country album ‘Different Roads’ is slated for release on September 1st. “Me as an artist and the stories that make up the new album ‘Different Roads’ are simply about; where each song takes you that you may have experienced in your life,” said Davidson. “I’m not in this at all to be a celebrity. I’m in this because I’m doing what I love and I’m just being me. Just one man, one guitar, sharing his story through a song.”

The new musical direction is far removed from his Britny Fox days, when ‘Dizzy’ Dean Davidson and the band landed a recording contract with Columbia Records and released two MTV hits, “Long Way To Love” and “Girlschool”, which propelled their 1988 self-titled debut album to sales approaching one million copies. Shortly after the release of ‘Boys In Heat’, Davidson left Britny Fox to form Blackeyed Susan, but was without a label deal after the grunge invasion hit in the early ’90s.

The new album title ‘Different Roads’ came about when the first original title, ‘New York City Night’, and song of the same name, were originally included on the singer’s 2007 album ‘Drive My Karma’. “The new album delivers Americana/Folk/Country that’s organic and honest,” says Davidson. “I don’t write songs aiming to be a hit song. I just tell stories through songs — period. When I write the story of my life, I don’t let anyone hold the pen. It’s not about anything flashy. It’s just honest, real and simple.”

Scorpions Drummer Seeks Alcohol Treatment After Dubai Jailing

Scorpions Drummer Seeks Alcohol Treatment After Dubai JailingScorpions drummer James Kottak is seeking treatment for alcholism after spending a month in a Duabi jail for insulting Islam earlier this year.

“After years of drinking alcohol, on April 3rd, 2014, my addiction finally caught up with me during a 5-hour flight from Ekaterinburg, Russia to Bahrain via Dubai, during which I consumed 5 or 6 glasses of wine,” says Kottak. “While at the airport in Dubai I approached an airline representative to check on the status of my flight. The representative informed me that I was in the wrong place and I replied “WTF?!.” The representative then called the police and reported that I was intoxicated (which I was) and that I made a lewd jester.”

Eye witness reports at the time of his arrest said Kottak started swearing and talking about “non-educated Muslims”, then flashed his middle finger at Pakistani passengers. Police at the time also said he exposed his behind and was asking people to touch it. A customer service employee at the airport also recalled, “When he saw the Pakistani and Afghan passengers, he covered his nose and said that there was no way he will travel with them.” He added that the drummer then started swearing repeatedly at the arrivals area of Terminal 2. “He wasn’t talking to a person specifically but was talking in general. He was very nervous at the time and talking loudly.”

“One of the police officers recognised me as drummer of ‘The Scorpions'”, Kottak disputes. “When the police asked me to show my ID, I showed them the “Rock & Roll Forever” tattoo on my back, instead of my actual ID which was in my back-pack my friend was carrying for me. Apparently, the police did not find this funny and I was charged with “Drinking Without a License”, for which I pleaded guilty and received a one-month sentence and a 2,000 Dirham (300 USD) fine. I was also charged with insulting Islam/Muslims by making a lewd jester for which I pleaded not guilty and did not actually do.”

“Upon returning to the United States on May 6th, I immediately reached out to Bob Forrest, an addiction specialist known for his work with musicians and Celebrity Rehab,” continues Kottak. “I have been meeting with Bob on a regular basis. He has guided me to the MusiCares Organization, which provides musicians with help for mental health and addiction issues. I am determined to come to grips with my alcoholism and am doing everything on a daily basis to beat this relentless disease. This entire incident caused me to realize that it is time to stop drinking once and for all so that I can become the father, musician, and friend that I know I can be.”

The 51 year old drummer is looking forward to moving on his his life. “I am glad to put this unfortunate incident behind me and move onward and upward with my life. I would like to send out a HUGE thank you to my family, friends and fans around the world for their incredible loving support… you kick ass! I would also like to send a sincere apology from the bottom of my heart to everyone I have affected and look forward to seeing you all!!”

The Angels’ Doc Neeson Loses Battle With Cancer At Age 67

Bernard “Doc” Neeson, the frontman of hitmaking Australian rock group the Angels (also known as Angel City and The Angels From Angel City), has died at the age of 67 after a battle with brain cancer, reports the Billboard.

Neeson, the former livewire lead singer of pub rock greats The Angels (also known as Angel City and The Angels From Angel City), passed away peacefully according to a statement released by his friend and publicist Catherine Swinton.

“Doc stood out as one of a kind, a totally unique performer,” said Angels lead guitarist Rick Brewster. “His feverish stage presence was unsurpassed yet beneath the public persona was a gentle soul. He leaves behind a wealth of shared memories. Good times, hard times and the thrill of creating timeless music together.”

At their peak, the Angels was the quintessential Aussie pub-rock band; a group blessed with an arsenal of explosive songs and — with Neeson at the mic — one of the most charismatic singers in the rock business.

Born January 4th, 1949 in Belfast, Northern Ireland, Neeson emigrated to Adelaide, South Australia when he was 13. He went on to play with Moonshine Jug and String Band, a group that morphed into the Keystone Angels and later the Angels. His intense gaze and livewire antics at front and center of stage helped established his band as legends in their homeland.

The 1978 album ‘Face To Face’ ignited the Angels’ career, and yielded the hits “Take A Long Line” and “Marseilles”. The album was reissued on vinyl earlier this year, with Neeson remarking at the time, “I don’t think it was accidental that Face To Face was on the charts for 71 weeks while we toured every part of Australia. People checked us out live then heard that same, roaring dynamic captured on top quality analog vinyl. On great vinyl the fans could hear the full quality of sound they had experienced at an Angels concert and that excited them.”

The band’s 1976 song “Am I Ever Gonna See Your Face Again” is part of Australia’s rock ‘n’ roll DNA, and is a favorite at any party where beer is served (for reasons no-one can explain, Australians tend to shout-back an expletive filled lyric which doesn’t actually exist in its chorus).

The Angels were inducted into the ARIA Hall of Fame in 1998. A year later, Neeson suffered a severe spinal injury

Neeson went on to perform with various acts including Doc Neeson’s Angels and Red Phoenix, and there were legal battles with his former bandmates who toured as the Angels. The band members reunited and toured, but he would again leave to pursue a solo career.

In March of this year, Neeson released the single “Walking in the Rain”, originally recorded by Flash and The Pan. It was his first studio recording in nearly seven years. The song, written by the legendary Vanda & Young team, was recorded late last year at Albert Studios in Sydney by ARIA Award winning producer Brendan Gallagher prior to Doc touring the country last November with the RocKwiz Salutes Vanda And Young shows.

Neeson was diagnosed with an aggressive brain tumor in 2012 and reportedly spent the Christmas and New Year period of that year in hospital undergoing intensive radiation and chemotherapy treatment.

He is said to have passed away peacefully Wednesday morning.

“He has battled with a brain tumour for the last 17 months and sadly lost his fight this morning,” a note posted on his official Facebook page reads. “He will be deeply missed by his family and partner Annie Souter who would all like to thank everyone for their support through this dark time.”

Accept To Tour Australia

Classic heavy metal was shaped essentially by three highly influential bands: Judas Priest, Iron Maiden and Accept. Two of these legendary acts have graced our shores several times but now finally Australia gets to witness the might of the “Teutonic Terror” themselves for the very first time as Accept are set to arrive in November 2014. Proudly representing the “Made in Germany” trademark, Accept fashioned distinct musical blueprints that have influenced multiple generations of followers. They have kept their music and artistry relevant around the world and have overcome staggering odds to maintain international careers for over three decades. Accept have released classic album after album with the likes of ‘Balls To The Wall’, ‘Metal Heart’ and ‘Restless And Wild’ all becoming some of the most influential and acclaimed Metallic slabs of all time. The unforgettable vocals of Udo Dirkschneider and riffs of Wolf Hoffmann / Herman Frank became a major part of 80’s Heavy Metal history.
Their anthems of steel are known worldwide and are often cited as one of the earliest innovators of Speed Metal with their track “Fast As A Shark” putting the pedal to the metal like no other before them.

After some line-up changes, non-activity and reunion shows the band breathed new life in 2009 with the addition of Mark Tornillo and since recorded two of the strongest Accept albums yet in “Blood Of The Nations” and “Stalingrad” which both cracked the Billboard Top 200 chart. Accept were back, but not for nostalgia rather firing on all cylinders and as vibrant and vital as ever. Now they have another killer new album on the way titled ‘Blind Rage’. Australia will witness this ‘Blind Rage’ as Accept grace our shores for the very first time for 3 exclusive shows. No self-respecting fan of Classic Heavy Metal should miss this tour they perform highlights from ‘Blind Rage’ as well as all their classic anthems – ”Balls To The Wall”, ”Fast as a Shark”, ”Metal Heart”, ”Restless and Wild”, ”Teutonic Terror” and more!

In the last twelve months Accept have again risen to the top of the Metal elite and played at some of the largest music festivals on the globe including Sweden Rock Festival, HellFest, Bloodstock Open Air, Masters Rock and Bang Your Head. Sprinkle in some headlining shows between festival appearances and you have a normal touring schedule for this hardworking, dedicated band. 2011 marked an astonishing 67 shows in over 7 countries, in three short months. With fists in the air and crowd chanting tracks, Accept have worked tirelessly around the world and now it is Australia’s time.

The Crimson Projekct Launch ‘Red’ From Forthcoming ‘Live In Tokyo’ Release

Crimson-Project-Live-japan

The Crimson ProjeKCt, the King Crimson offshoot featuring 3 current members of that historic band, will release ‘Live in Tokyo’ through InsideOutMusic on the 3rd March 2014. With the tour set to begin soon as well, the band have revealed the classic 70’s King Crimson track ‘Red’ taken from the live album which can be heard here: http://youtu.be/__m1tobU8kA

The band had this to say: “Red is one of the pre-80ies instrumentals that has remained an integral part of King Crimson’s repertoire up until the early 2000s. Our interpretation of this classic piece is uniquely energetic and always ‘on-the-edge’, especially the double drumming from Pat and Tobias. Markus is doubling the main guitar part in a baritone register, which adds a subtle new pushing element to the song. The roar going through the audience when we start playing this is one of the highlights of our shows for us.”

Featuring the talents of Adrian Belew, Tony Levin, Pat Mastelotto, Markus Reuter, Julie Slick and Tobias Ralph; The Crimson ProjeKCt primarily focus on repertoire from the early 1980s through to the mid-90s. The band has a “double trio” line-up, as made popular by Crimson between 1994 – 1997. The full track-listing for the CD & Digital release can be found below:
