W.E.T and H.e.a.t are two of the strongest and most popular new bands on the melodic rock circuit, featuring two of the best frontmen in the business: the legendary Jeff Scott Soto and the young, dynamic dervish that is Erik Gronwall.
W.E.T.’s first ever live show was at Firefest 2011, where Jeff and his Eclipse and Work of Art band mates tore up the proverbial storm – and 2013 was even BETTER!
H.e.a.t, on the other hand, are Firefest favourites, having played the festival over the years with three different vocalists. However, in2013 the boys ratcheted up their performance several notches and left the Firefest crowd open-mouthed with their boundless energy and youthful exuberance.
For many there that day, it was a toss up between W.E.T. and H.e.a.t for band of the weekend. Now you can all judge for yourselves asRocktopia present you with possibly the best double bill EVER!
Rocktopia – where the best live action lives!
Created as a studio project featuring members from Work of Art, Eclipse and Talisman (W.E.T.), Jeff Scott Soto, Erik Martinsson andRobert Sall have also proved themselvespart of an elite live band. Debuting to tremendous acclaim and Firefest 2011, the band then played a showcase in Stockholm that was filmed for a live DVD, before revisiting Firefest last year for a performance that topped even that legendary debut. Rocktopia’s video* of that debut has been one of the most popular shows on here, so no doubt this spectacular follow up will be equally well received. Definitely a band at the top of their game!
Jokingly referred to as the Firefest house band, 2014 will see a record-breaking fifth appearance for the Swedish boys. Throughout the years, we’ve all watched the band grow from enthusiastic youngsters to the well-oiled, experienced superstars-in-the-making that we see today. The band’s performance at Firefest 2013 was jaw-dropping, with lead singer Erik Gronwall combining the stamina and verve of Taz meets the Energiser bunny! It just seems impossible that he can hit those notes while whirling and jumping almost non-stop. A visual master-class in performance art – but with the songs to back it up! Until the band come out with an official DVD, this is the next best thing to being there. Sit back and enjoy!
