One of the great acts that will be part of MRF4 is once again, the awesome Mecca. I’m very excited to announce the live line-up for Mecca+ at MRF4:
Shannon Forrest – Drums; David Hungate – Bass; David Browning – Keys; Joe Vana – Lead Vocals; Jimi Jamison – Lead Vocals; Joey Vana – Guitars; Special Guest – Guitar; Special Guest – Lead Vocals.
Joe Vana states: “We will be doing Mecca I, II & III tracks and then some Jimi Jamison and a tune or two by our other Special Special guests…I am beyond honored to have the Mecca I rhythm section of Shannon Forrest and David Hungate together as a rhythm section and back in the fold!!! They have not played live together since they were the rhythm section for the Legendary Toto Musician’s Hall of Fame performance.
And to add – the line-up for the in-the-works Mecca III album Audiophile can also be announced! It is:
Shannon Forrest – Drums; David Hungate – Bass; David Browning – Keys; Tim Akers – Keys; Joe Vana – Lead Vocals; Jimi Jamison – Lead Vocals; Joey Vana – Guitars.
Joe Vana continues: “We will also have a few VERY special guests playing on Mecca III as well…and will let Andrew know as they do their parts….one is our buddy and Mecca II alum Eric Ragno who busted his tail for MRF3, we were not going to do the record without him!!
The whole album is being recorded OLD school to 2″ tape….all full takes only….no edits, and not an auto tune fest….if the vibe is there and it’s out a bit…all cool!!!!….no guitar plug ins….no drum samples….no beat detective and is designed as a true Audiophile album…hence the title…it is the album I have always dreamed of….and we are pulling out all the stops…Produced by Shannon Forrest in Nashville…Here is a small snippet as we recorded in Nashville…”
