Valley International Park, the venue for Les-Fest, has gone into administration. A statement from Les-Fest organiser Dave Ritchie regarding the future of Les-Fest reads as follows:

“Yes we have woken up to the shocking news in our local press that VIP hosts of Les-Fest 1 and 2 has gone into administration. To be honest, we heard rumours of this a couple of weeks back but could never get confirmation from the owners.

“Having now discussed the situation an length with the administrators it is clear that Les-Fest 3 cannot take place at VIP this year.

“Having heard the speculation, we have been working tirelessly to source and secure a new venue and although we are not quite ready to make that announcement, and this is not the way we wanted to do it, we believe we may have a new, bigger, improved venue for 2014. All being well contracts for the new location will be signed off next week.

“The new venue is even closer to the M74 motorway road links and where in the past many of the facilities were provided by VIP, we are now in total control of the new site, bringing you improvements in catering, bars and choices of on-site accommodation as well as additional facilities including wheelchair access – no more stairs!

“In all ways this is a great opportunity to expand the festival, albeit the move is one year ahead of schedule.

“We will be writing to all performers over the next 48 hours and as previously said, ideally we would have done that first, but as it is front page news, we have had our hand played for us.

“As and when we announce the new improved Les-Fest 3 if anyone feels it is no longer suitable we will of course give full refunds. We are however convinced and confident that what we can now offer you is vastly superior and we hope to be on the new site for many many years to come.

“Thanks for your continued support and hope to see you all in June.
